Multilateral Embassy Closure Operations

In addition to earning triumphant and resounding victories with our more regular allies, the LDF is always looking to find itself working directly with more potential partners. Today, looking to sharpen our offensive skills against some deserving targets, we teamed up with our friends from the New Pacific Order, Europeia, and Balder to strike against two regions and support the ongoing invasion of Sanctum.

With a solid minor update turnout of 8 updaters, the LDF operatives both experienced and new helped lead us to victory in this operation, being among the first into the targets on several jumps. All in all, a successful morning and we're happy to be finding new partnerships of people to work with, those who share views with us on certain topics and regions.

To be fair/clear, while we did participate in the Sanctum raid and one of our officers is an RO there, the main raid was organized by Antifa. We just stopped by for a support during this separately pre-planned operation.

Regarding topics about foreign affairs since 1 March 2022:

There have been a number of developments in the Department of Foreign Affairs, chief among these is the declaration of a state of war with four inglorious raiding regions after consensus amongst all TL leadership to stand by our allies in Warzone Sandbox as per our treatise.

Further in our battle against raiderdom, The League Department of Foreign Affairs pursued closer relations with The Order of the Grey Wardens culminating in the ratification of the Ampëz–Weisshaupt Compact formalising our longstanding cooperation with TGW with a codified alliance.

As a consequence of our declaration of war, which included the Osiris Fraternal Order, two former embassy partners, The West Pacific and Lazarus have been withdrawn, The League Department of Foreign Affairs recognises and respects the commitment to alliances which we hold equally strongly. Our ambassadors have been reassigned to steadfast partners.

On 27 March, an offsite consulate was agreed with Balder, a first step in a mutually beneficial partnership. Quebecshire was assigned as the diplomatic consul.

On 29 March, owing to the effective closure of Wintercrest The League's embassy to Wintercrest was closed and the ambassador reassigned.

The League's Defense Forces Foreign Report

The League's Defense Forces have seen a successful month of contribuing to defender operations. In addition to providing critical support to operations such as the liberations of Nova Historie and NANI, we had exceedingly high turnout at a number of occupation defenses, having double digit turnout at those on March 25th.

Beyond operational successes, we have welcomed several new members into our organization who have excelled as defenders, and we announced the Lieutenant's Program, which has led to the training of new officer candidates.

Since 1 March, in response to acts of aggression against our treaty ally the Warzone Empire, The League declared war against several raider organisations. The Consulate made the decision to ban all raider organisations from The League's venues of communication and governance. The Consulate oversaw Council nominations and the selection of the new Speaker, Ajakanistan. The Consulate is pleased at the ongoing Foreign Affairs work by the new Director of Foreign Affairs, Tirol and new foreign affairs successes such as the Ampëz–Weisshaupt Compact with TGW.

Council Foreign Report

The Council has been very active this month. First of all the Council nominations were opened on 8 March, with the following reaching quorum: Ajakanistan, DinoNet, East Yourtanad, New Makasta, Karimun Jawa, Spode Humbled Minions, and The Tirol Region. On 14 March, Ajakanistan was selected as Speaker of the Council, replacing the previous Speaker East Yourtanad. On 13 March, the Council voted unanimously to declare a state of war with four raiding regions as a result of their raid upon Warzone Sandbox, treaty ally of The League. On 19 March, the Council voted unanimously in favour of the Ampëz–Weisshaupt Compact with The Grey Wardens. On 24 March, CRB 3 – An Act to end CRB #3 was put to vote, replacing the labelling system of council bills and acts for all future council legislation to aid in the identification and categorisation of legislation.

Establishment of the
Office of Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs

Good day NationStates,

Following the passage of CRL 33 – A Bill to Amend CRL 15 by the Council of the Republic, the office of Deputy Director was formalised in the legislation of The League. The establishment was firmly supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate, and passed the council with no opposition.

The Consulate and I, as the Director of the department, agreed on two candidates which were selected to hold this new office, both with substantial credentials, Amaan Land and Ikania. Both have served as ambassadors within the Department of Foreign Affairs. Amaan Land is very much a veteran of The League as a loyal citizen since 2016; Ikania is relatively new to our ranks but with his experience and calibre in gameplay and his consistent commitment to The League since his arrival here, I am very confident about the future of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The introduction of Amaan Land and Ikania presents a host of benefits for the department, allowing us to engage more and more with our allies and treaty partners, and ensuring timely crisis response under any circumstances.

For our allies, this move will mean there is increasing engagement, and on occasion either Amaan Land or Ikania will assume responsibilities that have thus far been held by the director. When this is the case, they speak with the full authority of the department; as representatives of The League, I could ask for no better deputies and I am sure they will exhibit the steadfast dedication to our allies the department has always held sacrosanct. That said, I shan't be taking a backseat as a result of this move, as Director I will remain to be handling coordination of the department and in the vast majority of cases, our statements and responses to international events.

There have been a number of developments in the Department of Foreign Affairs, our embassy with The Communist Bloc was closed and our treaty annulled on 17 April.

On 14 April, the embassy with Thegye was amicably closed.

Following the passage of CRL 33 – A Bill to Amend CRL 15 by the Council of the Republic on 21 April, Amaan Land and Ikania were selected as the Deputy Directors of Foreign Affairs.

On 23 April, The League established an offsite embassy with Europeia, with Quebecshire assigned as the ambassador.

The past month has been another busy one for the regional military. Early on we started off with extensive sieges of both England and then EmbassyRegionia, a combined process of about a week of constant sieges. We had 28 unique updaters for the siege of England and 25 for EmbassyRegionia, both of which were high turnout numbers by our own standards and relative to other organizations.

For the remainder of the month we participated in other liberations such as GenZom Collective and Quack, which were occupied by Lone Wolves United. In more general affairs, we've continued with officer training and internal development designed to continue this momentum.

Consulate Foreign Report

The midterm round of nominations for the current Council of the Republic concluded with four new Council Delegates assuming office on 14 April 2022. Additionally, Ajakanistan resigned from his position as Speaker of the Council for OOC reasons and was replaced by Zloveshchiy on 28 April 2022.

The 8 July Accords was rendered null and void by the Council of the Republic on 17 April 2022 in coordination with the regions of Thaecia, Europeia, and Balder.

As of 30 April 2022, Creeperopolis has served as World Assembly Delegate of The League for 6 consecutive months.

The Council of the Republic had a strong and active month, starting with mid-cycle nominations on April 8th. In the nomination Ikania, Preskovia, The Switz, and Zloveshchiy were all nominated and confirmed, growing the Council to 12 members. On April 17th, the Council of the Republic unanimously voted to repeal the July 8 Accords with The Communist Bloc after a briefing and discussion on the matter. Later in the week, on April 21, CRB-18B - A Bill to Amend CRL 15 was put into a vote to allow the establishment of Deputy Foreign Affairs Directors to the Department of Foreign Affairs, with the bill passing through as a result with most being in favor, and some abstaining. Due to The Tirol Region resigning to focus on other matters, the Council roster decreased to 11 members. Towards the end of the month, Ajakanistan stepped down from Speaker due to real-life reasons and was promptly replaced by Zloveshchiy.
