RANK THEME CHANGES AND ONBOARDING REFORM

After some discussion, brainstorming, and textwalling, our officers have collectively decided to go through with some reforms on a couple internal/cultural matters for our regional military. These reforms will approach our rank theme and the way we integrate new members into the organization, and we feel they better serve our larger/more sustained nature at this point in time.

RANK THEME CHANGES

Officer Ranks: These are unchanged. The current ranks work well and are well-known enough to convey proper responsibility to new recruits and foreign officers alike, so we aren’t altering these.

Flagbearers: This replaces the Sergeant rank - it is presently awarded at 40 attended updates. Flagbearers may not be officers, but they’ve demonstrated their reliability to the cause for some time.

Cannoneers: Replacing the Corporal rank, individuals will be designated a Cannoneer after completing 15 updates. Those holding this rank are often either quickly rising up and comers in the organization, or reliable liberators.

Minutemen: An aspect of much older regional lore though inadvertently brought back to our propaganda by Ikania during the raid of Concord, Minuteman is the first rank a new member of the military is granted after completing a defender operation. Ready to mobilize at a minute’s notice, this replaces Private as the first official rank.

ONBOARDING REFORM

Since April 2021 we’ve been operating off of an Active Duty and Reserves system. This worked well for a time, but given our growth in size and as a defender military, it presented some obstacles which, while not problematic, were unideal. As a part of some broader integration and onboarding reforms being discussed behind the scenes, we’re implementing the following changes effective immediately.

• The “Active Duty” and “Reserves” distinction is abolished, effective immediately.
• All existing members of the LDF will be provided rank based on their update attendance, including former reservists.
• The “Eagle Militia” is established and will be composed of those who have applied to the LDF or shown interest in aiding with liberation efforts. Upon completing a defender operation, Eagle Militia members who desire LDF membership will be granted Minuteman rank.
• In the aftermath of large operations, there will be fast-tracked avenues for enlistment for those who helped as civilians.
• We’ve created a New Recruit Information thread and a resources/tools hub is in progress amongst officers.
• The LDF declares that Roavin is pretty.

VICTORY IN VISTULIA!

"Stealth" raid trounced by 15+ defenders!

It was a brisk December morning and the defender patrols were alert and waiting for raider activity. Hearing some rustling in the forests, it was reported to defender bases that raiders may be attempting an offensive over the river. At a moment's notice, the LDF and our allies quickly mobilized into a crossing formation and set out. Despite their best attempts at "stealth" raiders found themselves overwhelmed on the Vistulia, the forces of Libcord securing a clear victory in the region.

Additionally, a warm welcome and congratulations to Monsilva, who has been inducted as a Minuteman following their successful chase into today's defense, their first update since signing up for the LDF! Great work!

In any case congratulations on stopping one of those stealth raids. Although I wasn't involved in this one I've been wondering if fenda orgs were still doing that kind of spotting since those kinds of raids have typically gone off easily so far. Now that we know we'll have to be even stealthier.

Double wins against LWU!

Stifled by incompetence and low turnout, Lone Wolves finding themselves alone again!

A pack of Lone Wolves were feeling a little alone, so they attempted to find themselves some W’s to keep them company. Unfortunately all they found was L’s being handed to them by members of Libcord. Defeated and more alone than before the Wolves put their tails between their legs and ran back to the safety of their caves.

But if you don’t want to feel so alone and want to surround yourself with W’s then join Libcord, we got W’s to spare over there.
