Executive Appointments

New San Antonio was appointed as our Director of Foreign Affairs in January 2023, and today New San Antonio has been re-assigned to Director of Internal Affairs after a record-breaking 585 days representing our interests abroad. He will retain a seat on the foreign affairs council. The Internal Affairs portfolio will be broadly similar to how it was when the position was designed for Creeperopolis, but with some changes. The outline is below.

• Oversight of recruitment programs, primarily manual.
• Ensuring endorsement publications/campaigns are regular and effective.
• Supporting regional message board enforcement.
• Aiding the Consulate in work relating to processing citizenship applications.
• Additional tasks as needed and assigned by the Consulate.

With his re-assignment, that leaves the external portfolio open, so the Consulate will be appointing Bootyswana (better known off-site as OnTheHorizon) as the next Director of Foreign Affairs. A brief statement from the new Director is below,

Hello Everyone!

I’m proud to serve now as the Director of Foreign Affairs! I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me reach this point and my friends who have helped me throughout all of my struggles.

As your director I’m hoping to work towards expanding our relations with Independent regions, and to work towards unifying the defenders under one banner to more effectively fight off the various griefers that NationStates finds itself continually plagued by.

I hope I can work effectively with all of you for the betterment of our community and the people of NationStates as a whole.

Chief Consul Narkina / Anjan Kloss

When I became the 4th Chief Consul of The League & Concord back in early May, my second time in this position I established back in 2018, my new tenure was explicitly premised on being rather limited,

Due to [Kivu's] preference to not start as Chief Consul, and Spode Humbled Minions / Mechanocracy’s desire not to have the role, I will be returning to the role of Chief Consul until a successor in that regard is ready and comfortable.

Since I've taken over we've identified and taken some initial steps to resolving a handful of regional issues, with executive orders issued to set us on the path of Constitutional harmony, and recruitment re-introduced thanks to the help of friends abroad. The work on a lot of these topics aren't done, and that coupled with the fact that Narkina / Anjan Kloss (aka Kivu) is comfortable taking the role now leads me to announce that Narkina / Anjan Kloss will be taking office today as the 5th Chief Consul of the Republic.

Kivu has been one of our most active and qualified members as in recent years, as explained in his original Consulate appointment, and he has my full confidence as outgoing Chief Consul, as well as the confidence of Consul Spode, to keep the region on a good track and restore activity to areas of the region needing it, such as recruitment under our new tech setup.

His initial remarks can be found below,

First of all, I would like to thank Quebecshire for his service as Chief Consul, as well as everything that he has done for the Republic. I am extremely honored and grateful to have been chosen to succeed Quebecshire, and lead the Republic as Chief Consul. I look forward to guiding the Republic and supporting its interests, alongside my fellow Consuls.

As Chief Consul, my primary short-term goals are to:
- Ensure the security of both regions
- Continue the revitalization of the recruitment program
- Continue both the Constitution and Council reforms

In the long term, I am committed to continuing the tradition of regional success and prosperity. I look forward to celebrating the successes, anticipating the opportunities, and navigating the difficulties. Our Republic has a bright future, and I plan on working to make that future brighter.
