CAER SIDI FOREIGN UPDATE

Caer Sidi has been going through drastic change recently, we elected a new Taoiseach and Tániste, this brand new government first toured all of the CS embassies building diplomatic ties, a first for CS. The government then placed two bills in House Roayl, one regarding Governmental repeal and another regarding Human Rights, both of which were passed. The Taoiseach has also met with the President of Pacifica, the Prime Minister of EMN and the Kaiser of Hartfelden. This new government is forging a new path for CS.

Caer Sidi has grown tremendously over the last few months, as of 11-11-18 we have improved foreign affairs by constructing embassies with, Hartfelden, Lardyland, The Yeet Army, Carolinga, Christmas, Philippines, Pacifica, Empire of Mare Nostrum and Aukumina (as of 19-1-19). Caer Sidi believes that foreign affairs are crucial to the sustainability and development of this region and so we try to have emmisaries in as many regions as we can, and so Mark, Aynia and Clawdius have became new CS emmisaries! We are constantly looking to build better relationships with our fellow regions! We have also taken steps towards creating a treaty with Hartfelden, both our governments are continuing to work together to finalise a treaty to be voted on in ‘House Royal’ however, due to elections in Hartfelden talks have been paused and will be reopened when the new government is sworn in.

Some big changes have come to our interior council. Due to personal reasons Phan is stepping down from the council, and Wyvern will be taking his place. Wyv has served CS since close to it's beginning and was a multi term warden for the region, helping to foster culture and diplomatic ties. Welcome to the team, Wyvern, we are glad to have you!

As always Caer Sidi's roleplaying group is filled with fresh ideas; Immortals details the fresh start of a world guided by the hands of an immortal race of gods, Conquest of Quitzkotla adds a new fantastic spin on the age of colonization and exploration tropes, EXODIA signals a change in the modern world's magical underground as new students are accepted to the premier school of sorcery on the planet, and Opalesque has all the makings of space opera just getting started, with the accidental quirk of not a human in sight. February is sure to be an exciting month as these stories get off the ground and the players bring their own intriguing twists to the game!

Caer Sidi has started it's very own choose your own adventure story on the RMB! We've chosen to take a rocky path next to a river and the adventure is just starting. Polls will be up every 48 hours with a new section of the story, and voting is open to everyone!

Poll 2: We've decided to follow the rocky path. We find that the rocks are quite steep. We can try to climb the rocks or just wade through the river. The river is about knee high. What do we do?
-We chose to wade through the river.

Poll 3: We decide the river is shallow enough not to risk the rocks. After about a half mile we come into a clearing. We are soaked. What do we do?
-We decided to look for items to set up camp.

Poll 4: We scrounge around for what we can find, but our wet clothes take up a lot of energy to move. Eventually we make a bed of leaves and debris under a tree and find some berries to snack on. The sun is starting to go down and it's getting colder. We've collected a pile of wood but you aren't sure if our lighter works. What do we do?
-We chose to try to get our lighter working

Poll 5: You mess with the lighter for a while and eventually get a strong flame out of it. You carefully light the pile of sticks and debris and after a few minutes, your fire is roaring. It's now almost totally dark and you can see stars beginning to blanket the sky. What do you do?

Poll 11: You decide to sneak back to camp and luckily the bear doesn't notice you. Picking up some brush and a few good twigs for firewood you backtrack to skirt around the woods a bit and finally find a good place to make camp. You forage around for a while and manage to find some food and some stones and fiber. You realize you have a hoodie on and use the front pocket as a backpack, ignoring the dirt. You manage to build another fire and sleep through the night, waking up feeling rested, but a little thirsty.

A new Taoiseach!

Elections were hot this round with Clawdius Templeton and Kari squaring off for the position of Taoiseach. Kari won the vote 9-6 in favour and has now become our new Taoiseach. She has appointed her cabinet as follows:

Minister of Integration: Prim
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Aynia Moreaux
Minister of Culture: Wyvern

We look forward to the good work they will do!

Treaties abound!

Not only has a treaty with Pacifica been passed, but a treaty with Hartfelden has also just passed their legislature and has been put into effect! We’re looking forward to a cultural event with Pacifica in the future, look forward to more information soon!

Legislative Updates

We currently have one bill at vote in House Baile - The Syvisa and Caer Sidi Coexistence Act. The bill outlines procedures for claiming new land within Caer Sidi with respect to the creatures who already live there.

In House Royal The Electoral Guidelines act was passed, and the government is feverishly working on a rework of the constitution. The draft will be released to the Oireachtas for debate as soon as it is finished.

Roleplay

Our roleplay has been hot this month! We are rebooting our canon roleplay and bringing part of it to discord. This is a great time to claim your spot on the map while there is still lots of space! We’ve come out with some new lore about Bastion and the Queensland, be sure to check them out on our forums!

Caer Sidi Turns Two!

Game nights are back! Join us every Wednesday for a different game. We play a lot of Gmod, CS, Conan, Ark, Go, Battleship, Cards Against Humanity and more! Games generally start around 6:30 – 7:00pm EST and run for a few hours. We’d love to see you!

Iiiiiiiiit's TIIIIIIIIMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE

UCR Con is back for it's second year!! Starting Nov 22nd (Friday) - 25th (Monday), join us for fun, games, lectures, daily questions, game nights and giveaways! Add your region to the regional showcase to help other players get to know it. We hope to have as much fun this year as we had last year, and look forward to another amazing turnout.

We are currently looking for interested regions to fill the regional showcase, as well as people who would like to give a lecture, whether through voice or text, on various subjects related to User Created Regions and gameplay at large. If you are interested in giving a lecture or having your region featured in the regional showcase this year please either send a telegram to Aynia Moreaux, or shoot me a message on discord (Aynia#1337) with either the region you'd like showcased or your preferred lecture topics and date and time you can give them. Time slots are first come first serve and can be any time you prefer.

RULES:

To be as transparent as possible, I'd like to lay some rules for the convention out here just to give everyone a fair heads up:

1. Lecture topics must be on a subject pertaining to UCR's or gameplay. This can include things like governance, rp, culture, FA, delegates or other things of the like. Lectures must be kept pg-13.

2. To sign up for the regional showcase you must hold a leadership position in your region that allows you to make foreign affairs or cultural decisions, as well as have the appropriate permission from your region.

3. If your region harbors DOS players, promotes hateful ideologies, or causes trouble during the convention, the Organizers reserve the right to remove said region from the regional showcase, and if necessary, kick or ban any players acting inappropriately.

4. DOS players are not allowed to enter the convention. This is nothing personal, just keeping things game related and heading off any potential trouble.

5. The most important rule. If you follow this rule, you'll be golden: Don't be a dick. Just be nice and we'll have no issues. Remember, nobody wants to spend their leisure time with a rude person <3

Caer Sidi is ALSO hosting it's very first ever mega livestream for the Extra Life project. What is Extra Life? It's when streamers and gamers get together to help raise money for sick kids. So far we have raised over $40 out of our $100 goal!

We'll be hosting our stream on November 3rd from 9am EST to 5pm EST. We'd love to have you join us. The event will be streamed through my twitch channel, and we'll have a special discord room for those who'd like to jump in and play with us. We plan to play things like Ark, Arma 3, Gmod and possibly others. We have an amazing group of gamers in Caer Sidi and I know it's going to be a blast.
