I've worked with Block before, and he is a genuinely good guy. Perhaps letting him and his region into UCRcon could be the first step into him making amends? You can't really blame him for anything if you won't let him make up for it.

I don't know Block, but I feel one should have a second chance before getting eternally blacklisted.

Something like that ought to set them up to making amends. If they still can't behave, they can be booted into hades again.

You guys seem to think that this would be the second chance, but it really isn't, it's well past the second.

Besides, there is nothing I see keeping individuals from the region joining and conversing, there just isn't a channel for the region specifically.

Allowing your region to participate essentially allows your region to recruit, exposing more players to you. It's not responsible for anyone to allow that. I have nothing against the other people in your region, but you knew going into this that your region was going to be blacklisted because you're its Founder. This isn't anything new; look at The Invaders, USSD, and The Kingdom of Great Britain for prior examples. You're complaining about something you knew was going to happen, which is why I asked you when your identity as Saint Block was exposed whether you were going to explain to your region who you are and why that would mean the region was going to end up blacklisted. You said you had. It's their choice now whether to stick with that or move elsewhere, where they will be welcome (just like people who left TI, USSD, and TKoGB have been welcome). If they choose to stay, that doesn't necessarily mean we have anything against them, but your region has to remain blacklisted while you're its Founder and shaping the direction of the region.

And please don't think you can hand off the Founder to whoever "Queen Flamel" is and that's going to be sufficient. It's more complicated than that.

End of story. You know how this stuff goes. It's not new to you in any way, shape, or form. Now stop clogging up Caer Sidi's thread whining about it.

I don't know how many chances he's had before this, but suffice it to say he's well past his second. Just off the top of my head, he was given more chances after destroying Grand Central's forum twice, and went on to do more egregious stuff than that. I believe in second chances for the most part too, but at some point there has to be a cut-off. There can't just be endless chances. Consequences have to happen.

This. I don't think anyone wants to prevent individuals from Amestris from participating in anything. It's just a prohibition on the region participating.

Now, I'm sure Block is going to continue on with this, but let's not indulge him further. Caer Sidi doesn't needs its embassy thread further derailed.

Hey all ^.^

It's come to our attention that there is still some concern and upset over Saint Block/Bradley and his region, Amestris. We've recieved numerous concerns from attendees, and unfortunately considering his history and the possibility of him making attendees feel uncomfortable or not welcome we have made the decision that he be banned from the event. I hate having to do this, and we have nothing personal against any of the citizens of his region, but at this time due to the connection with Saint Block/Bradley and concerns from the community Amestris will not be granted a showcase. This doesn't mean that the individual members of Amestris aren't free to join in and talk however. Our aim is to make this event fun and have our attendees feel comfortable and welcome. Any person or org who does not meet these standards will not be welcome at UCR Con. This is our final and only statement on this matter. Thank you guys for helping to make UCR Con a great event!

While you're involved with it, its status on the collective GP blacklist ain't gonna change.

Also, I bet you haven't actually told your region the genuine reasons about why their home is blacklisted. Anyways, taking this to Neutral Ground.

The con has been very interesting. I'm very thankful to Anyia and friends for setting this up, it's been great meeting so many new people I wouldn't normally really get a chance to meet. It's also really great to finally show off some of my and Lynxi's region finally! anyway, thanks again for this wonderful idea! o/

-Caer Sidi November Update-

UCR Con

Caer Sidi hosted its first ever User Created Region Convention November 15th through the 18th and we are proud to say that the event was a huge success! Here are some stats from the con:

• 6 Lectures Hosted
• Over 200 attendees!
• 39 regions participated
• 7 games given away
• many new embassies and friendships made!

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated, and especially those who lectured and the regional leaders who helped set up showcases. We're happy to say that we are planning on coming back next year with an even better convention for everyone!

A new WAD!

Due to time constraints in real life, Wikant18 stepped down as the World Assembly Delegate of Caer Sidi. This triggered an election in which Aynia and Kraken were both contenders. In the end Aynia came ahead with the most votes (though it was a close race) and is now the delegate for Caer Sidi.

The Oireachtas becomes a General Assembly

Let's face it, times are a bit lean for activity in most of Nationstates, and the same has been true of Caer Sidi. In order to combat this, we decided to open the Oireachtas up to be a General Assembly. Each House will now be led by one elected Orator, and any citizen can propose, debate, and vote on all legislation passed. This not only cuts down on the number of elected positions (from 6 to 2) but opens up our legislative body to all citizens to participate in. We are hopeful that going forward this will help spark activity in our legislative branch.

On behalf of the Augustin Alliance, we would like to thank the fine folks of Caer Sidi for being such gracious hosts of the first-ever UCR Con. The server was set up fantastically and everything was run in an orderly fashion. This was the ultimate exchange of ideas and it provided regions young and old with boundless information. Each wonderful lecture provided new insight on topics such as graphics, automation, GCR involvement, etc. It was filled to the brim with substance and we could not be more thankful to take so much away from this event. This convention is precisely what we need more of, as any chance to learn from our fellow regions and establish new relationships is key to the longevity of each. UCRs coming together for a moment of fun and learning is the type of event that needs to be seen more, and we cannot wait for the next one!
