Not a mod, but since it’s offsite payments, it’s legal. If it was stamps, or communicated onsite, I believe it would be illegal

Monetization/Gambling: It is against site rules to use money, a substitute thereof, or any good/service with equitable use (NS Store purchases, game keys or vouchers, e-giftcards, etc.) to incentivize or monetize any activity on NationStates, to include but not be limited to: joining or participating in a region, joining or participating in a thread, joining an alliance (roleplay or gameplay), etc. Similarly, it is against site rules to use the same as a "reward" for participation in any of the aforementioned or any "game," "contest," etc.

My real question is, is if they've monetized their military service on NS what else have they monetized in their region? Are they paying their Site "Technicians" (really site staff)? If they are, does that actually make them employees? And if it does make them employees, does that make Enadia a company and therefore subject to the commercialization rule?

So this creates a multitude of questions

• Who took the original picture? (obviously they may wish to conceal there identity if they fear retaliation, so this one's probably not getting answered)
• Did Enadia switch around its role colors following this being taken, or was the picture taken on a different Enadia-controlled server?

Wasn't too hard to cook up with some time, ingestion of questionable jam from the back of the refrigerator, and a pirated copy of MSpaint. Is it perfect? No. Does it demonstrate why posting a screenshot with no other context isn't particularly helpful? Hopefully.

As far as I'm aware, Enadia hasn't had a military since the days of SWORD. That was back in late 2017/early 2018 I believe so it's possible it was taken back then. Either way, it's monetizing a part of NS.

Just saying I'm in Enadia, and one, there hasn't been any military announcements, two, that post doesn't exist and three, that isn't even the right color of the role that they tagged.

So I'm just assuming someone is deliberately trying to stir the pot and make Enadia look bad for something they didn't do.

I mean, if Kuriko remembers his dates right, this would've been from around 2 years ago, so unless you've been in Enadia for longer than your account suggests, you wouldn't have been around to see it.

We dont offer to any of our users money to join our military or stay in the region. They stay (I hope) willingly because they like the region. Also we do not have at the moment an army.

The source of that screenshot was simply sending me screenshots from Enadia that they found funny. For example, here's an entirely noncontroversial screenshot that was posted because the source thought the belt bits were funny:

They also thought the idea of any region paying people to join an army was funny, and therefore posted the other screenshot. I did not find it so funny.

I'll work to get more exact details from the source when they're available today. As I commit to that...

So as I've said, I only defend Enadia when it's actually in the right these days, on a historical basis.
To the best of my knowledge, Enadia has never offered financial insentive to join the military, unless they have a new military since I left (if they do it was small.) We had a military sign-up section on the forum like any other region. I don't know what this screenshot is talking about; it's either someone trying to stir the pot who made the screenshot or they're quoting someone who was trying to stir the pot.

The source of the screenshot is The United Vex Imperium, a deputy in Hartfelden, updater in LILY, and former member of the North Pacific Army.

UVI has told me, regarding the authenticity of the screenshot, that they "can assure it was not fake, perhaps it was made in jest but I distinctly remember being disappointed that I was apart of the NPA and thus could not join another org, and that even if I wanted to I lacked a paypal account to receive such money", and that the screenshot was taken on June 30th, 2018 on mobile. He doesn't know when the post in the screenshot was made, however.

Also, UVI strikes me personally as someone who would not fake a screenshot due to the effort involved, nor care about Enadia enough to try to harm them.

Based on our past interactions, I'm fairly certain you're only disagreeing so starkly because you're seeking to feed on the conflict you'll create by doing so, but I will pretend you're engaging in good faith and ask you... what evidence are you looking for?
