I am slowly growing, now 41 nations, but still looking to expand.

Well, not sure how you can call it a successful raid. It was a dead region with a slowly dying population of 19 nations. Surely, you could do better then that?

Doesn't have to be a hard raid for it to be successful. And considering it's history, it was always going to be raided by us (and more specifically Jay). More a symbolic thing than anything.
