That was a great read, never knew the details of that.
The Mad King of Hell
I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"
Hell's Bells: Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
This isn't Wall Street, this is Hell. We have a little something called integrity.
And I heard as it were the noise of thunder, One of the four beasts saying come and see and I saw, and behold...

I love this story
Flemingovia told me a version of this too
Intense stuff
Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

Nope, she's a TNPer who made that nation to mock Great Bight and it's since become her main nation. The founding date is July 21, 2004 - mid-invasion. If you look hard enough on Old Blue you can find out her original main nation. :P

I've actually been under the impression she was his actual RL mother for the past nearly six years now. Awkward.

Thank you for that lovely walk down memory lane.

I am not Great Bight's RL mother. It was fun pretending to be his mother, though. I could nag him with impunity. Who would be heartless enough to ban his own mother?

If we are going for a Star Wars naming system here, rename the first thread to The Phantom Coup :p

I only have one more Star Wars themed title in the pipeline and then I'm tapped out. :P

And from a certain point of view, the sun appears to revolve around the Earth.

The ADN's support for TNP's government-in-exile cannot reasonably be interpreted as a betrayal of its founding ideals. The North Pacific was a member-region of the ADN. Defending the North Pacific was not just consistent with its founding ideals and its constitution, it would have been a serious abandonment of the ADN's foundational ethos, explicit and implicit, to have sided with Great Bight.

An alternative point of view is that twenty-one days into a coup that looked to be very successful, New Sparrow betrayed the ADN to support the winning side.

I’m not speaking only of the actions in TNP, although I do admit that such a viewpoint is in the minority and somewhat off-topic (although the OP brought New Sparrow into the conversation).

But, in talking about the ADN position within TNP specifically, yes, TNP was a member region. But, the policy of the ADN was to actively support administrations that were favourable to them while actively opposing any dissent and seeking to discredit anyone that spoke out against that outside organisation dictating the internal affairs of the region. That occurred in many of the larger ADN regions. Luckily, New Sparrow had an active Founder that wasn’t easily coerced.

I would concur with Ivan, the ADN certainly changed their propaganda toward TWP when I pulled it out of the ADN just a few short months later.

Originally they went with a Star Trek naming system:

Yes but I couldn't name it that. The original Star Trek sucked. Wrath of Khan was the good one. :P

Indeed. It is fitting that the Wrath of Ivan was the best result of the Puppetmaster attacks as well.

My understanding, however limited, is that Puppetmaster II was not intended as an attack, but as an intelligence operation: to discover via steganography which groups were leaky. (Apparently the answer was everyone? You'd have to ask someone who knew more.)

That was the revisionist version after its colossal failure. You don’t coordinate 100+ nations to move into action at update just to find a few leaks. The ADN’s failure to surprise me had to be retrofitted into a success for their own propaganda machine.

Ooooh, that's clever. I like that.

A desperate Puppetmaster strike also would have suggested ADN didn't have Stars of Sky in their backpocket. Or was Puppetmaster II done with Stars of Sky as the target?

SoS was a puppet of several high ranking ADN nations. This was well known within the NPD all along and the nation was never trusted with access (at least by me - those that followed me were a bit more gullible). SoS came along after Puppetmaster II, at least as a major swapper in TNP. For reference: http://z4.invisionfree.invalid.com/TheNorthPaci ... &p=9331013

Also, that message wasn’t the only indication of Puppetmaster II. There was discussion on the government forum at the ADN and in the security forum of the Meritocracy. For reference: http://z4.invisionfree.invalid.com/TheNorthPaci ... wtopic=629

Anyone that knew Unistrut can read the sincerity in those comments. Plus he confirmed to me that it was a retcon years later (along with confirmation of SoS).

Am I to understand that Mammothistan's full involvement in those events is still not public knowledge, or was that left on the editing floor for the sake of brevity?
"Noopee" (New People) was the one player whom nearly always fooled me with his characters/puppets. When he revealed them, I was shocked every time. Every. Time.
