Historical cannon question. Chime in.

Postby The Wyoming Peoples Front » Wed Dec 20, 2017 4:18 pm

The Nation Parhe in the region World Conference has entered North America on the MAP and has written an alternative HISTORY which conflicts with the RL history of the United States of America, which is the colloqually accepted history of the nations:
The Wyoming Peoples Front
Kansas Separatists
New South Alliance
Great Illinois
United-Dixie
New York City Union

And potentially other nations being recruited to the region for a North America based "After America" RP.

Parhe's assertion appears to be that his nation's history has diverged in the 1500s with the settlement of the American West Coast and New Spain by Korean and Japanese Immigrants.
Hence producing a culturally different nation in the west and south west (including Texas and California) which later joined the US in the 20th century.

The cannon accepted and evolving among the other nations, involves a historically intact nation which split up in the late 20th century as a result of in fighting, political unrest, epidemic flu and economic turmoil.

The goal of this poll is to give coordinators of the region a feeling for how the member nations want this issue to proceed.
It is a non-binding poll and should not be viewed as a mandate or vote.

The question:
Should the Players of North America in the region World Conference recognize/accept the History of Parhe?

As far as I was aware up until today, myself and several other nations in the region were operating under the shared assumption that American history diverges from reality in the regional timeline's 1990s, where the USA collapses and the regional alternate history begins in that area.

The player in question is unilaterally saying American history actually changes in the 1500s because the player's country was in an earlier version of the region, and that it's fine and we should all adapt to that now.

Change even one thing in history and the fractals of change down the line would be severe.

As I said in the RMB:

What about Texas in the civil war?
The oil boom?
The Kennedy assassination?
Man on the moon?
The manifest destiny policy of the RL USA would have resulted in multiple wars over Texas alone, any of which the US would have won...

Atomic bomb testing in New Mexico?

The California gold Rush?
The Colorado Silver rush?

If those states do not maintain their history into the late half of the 20th century then none of our states make sense.
It's asking all of us to change our RP for a single player.
