Banning Cars -- Any good come of it?

Postby Alexandria Eschate » Fri Dec 15, 2017 9:58 pm

I have banned cars on a number of my nations --somewhat on a whim, but also with slight hope that somewhere down the line this may lead to something interesting, policy-wise. So far, however, besides better environmental gains, I haven't seen any proposals for state of the art, all-encompassing public transit to pick up the slack and take its place... Is this going anywhere, or is it just a fun policy to have temporarily until further issues down the line allow you to reverse course?

Thanks for any help.

It’s good for the environment

Unless I say they do, in which case, there is a nonzero chance.

There are some issues you can only get if you ban cars.

One is a police one where you can give them your nation animal to ride, fitness programs to make in shape and run faster, or give only police cars I think.

Another is a reversal option, one option undoes it, another I think is public tansite option I forget, and the third is an option about how it's easier to control people without cars.

If you run a pro-environment anti-technology evil dictatorship like me it's a fun issue line.

Appreciate the response.

Those sound like fun issues, so I'll keep up the ban and see if they will pop up...

One of my other nations is an anti-technology, wilderness-dwelling nation of recluses who will shoot first and ask questions after -- not quite the evil dictatorship, but I bet our two nations would see eye-to-eye on quite a few issues
