I would also like to nominate Lenlyvit for Biggest Meltdown, on an IC level. During the Lazarus debacle, he was so desperate for The Black Hawks' help that he was willing to pay me off in stamps in exchange for TBH staying out of the conflict/supporting the Celestial Union. This resulted in his expulsion from The Grey Wardens and a half-assed retirement post he went back on in a few days anyway when he joined XKI.

I second the nominations of News With Booze, Ever-Wandering Souls, and Captain Alexander (for a different category).

Well, if it ain't Unibot then it's even sketchier that they're staying anonymous.

I'm on #TeamBoycott for sure. Those Miniluv Awards sure look nice.

Nomination Ticket

Most Influential Gameplayer: Yuno. Not only is she known across all of GP, getting the delegacy of TEP is no small feat.
Best Raider: N/A (I don't really follow individuals)
Best Defender: N/A
Best Up-and-Coming Raider: Overthinkers. Did quite a lot of tagging for us to the point that a curse has manifested to stop his rampage, he only needs to master occupations now.
Best Up-and-Coming Defender: N/A
Best Invader Organization: TWPAF. The quick destruction of Mr Money Headquarters, the cleanup and nuking of Socialist Alliance of Eurasia with Osiris, innovative tags... we did a lot this year.
Best Defender Organization: The Grey Wardens. They've shown their dedication to chasing raiders plenty of times.
The "Iron" Armchair: N/A
Invasion of the Year: Operation Eclipse. Obviously because it's a new record and showed that raids with multiple teams can be extremely powerful.
Liberation of the Year: Japan. Apparently there were a lot of defender updaters which was an amazing feat.
Gameplay Thread of the Year: The Lazarus Megathread. When polarized sides clash it gets messy.
Best Gameplay Media Outlet: News with Booze. While it has fallen into inactivity for a while now, it is a very entertaining way to get GP news.
Biggest Meltdown of the Year: Kingdom of Great Britain. The treason revelations wrecked the region.
Quote of the Year: N/A
Noteworthy Event of the Year: Brunhilde's nefarious plans getting foiled by those meddling kids.

To be fair, I'd trust any random awards organizer to run a competition fairly over Cormac.

Nomination Ticket

Most Influential Gameplayer: Yuno. This year she really came into her own, and of course, now she's a feeder delegate.
Best Raider: Elfin. I can't think of anyone else, because there hasn't been much good raiding this year, so I'll just stick with my friend.
Best Defender: Nakari. Everyone says Roavin, and he deserves a lot of credit for organizing the top defending organization there is right now, but personal bias and the whole defection masterpiece makes me nominate her.
Best Up-and-Coming Raider: Liliarchy. I don't even know if this still qualifies as new, but Lily has been pretty good this year, quietly doing their thing and being fantastic at it.
Best Up-and-Coming Defender: Sir Merlin. As Vinny said: "A 5 star senior warden with 257 update missions, 1,180 defenses, 115 liberations, and 1,745 successful operations, all of which occurred in 2017."
Best Invader Organization: The Roman Empire. I'm not exactly a fan, especially not of their people, but to their credit TRE has been one of the few organizations that has been fulfilling their raison d'etre all year round: raiding. They just don't stop. And the updates are great.
Best Defender Organization: The Grey Wardens
The "Iron" Armchair: Onderkelkia. So much bullshit, so little to back it up.
Invasion of the Year: Operation Eclipse, begrudgingly. Just raw talent is all there is to it.
Liberation of the Year: Japan. That was hella fun.
Gameplay Thread of the Year: The Grey Wardens thread, because the updates are too spicy.
Best Gameplay Media Outlet: New With Booze. Obvious bias on account of being a guest on it.
Biggest Meltdown of the Year: Kingdom of Great Britain. Lazarus was a mess and so was the recent Moneyness stuff, but nothing is like seeing this decade old region sink into pariah status.
Quote of the Year: "I mean to overthrow the Coalition of the South Pacific, and I absolutely won't stop until it is overthrown and you, along with your supporters and enablers, are purged from TSP." - Cormac
Noteworthy Event of the Year: Lazarus. Of course.

Yes, but we can hold Cormac accountable because everything is public in his awards. Here, if the op makes up votes in TGs, we have no clue, in the other one there are no private votes, so if he fibs results everyone can call him out on it.

Nomination Ticket

Most Influential Gameplayer:
Best Raider: Ever Wandering Souls (indispensable and idfk where raiderdom would be without him right now)
Best Defender:
Best Up-and-Coming Raider:
Best Up-and-Coming Defender:
Best Invader Organization: The Black Hawks (by far the most significant organization amongst raiders right now)
Best Defender Organization: The Grey Wardens (leading affairs over there, no contest)
The "Iron" Armchair: Unibot (technically, he's been handcuffed to it against his will, but it seems to fit the description)
Invasion of the Year:
Liberation of the Year:
Gameplay Thread of the Year: The One Stop Shop for your Lazarus Scandal Needs seems to fit the bill
Best Gameplay Media Outlet:
Biggest Meltdown of the Year: Kingdom of Great Britain (Went through about 4 rulers in 3 days because they wanted to be in the good books of people who will never have anything to do with them anyway)
Quote of the Year:
Noteworthy Event of the Year: CAIN literally collapsing as a functional organization and losing to Nazi Europa by default

“Had acted.” These awards are a carbon copy of the same ones we’ve been holding since 2015. You guys just decided to be drama queens over TG votes and then Cormac jumped on the opportunity to put himself and his biased “newspaper” at the center of what’s been an uncontroversial tradition for years, likely ending that tradition forever.

Congrats. Y’all have turned a light-hearted frivolous superlative contest into just another Gameplay-politics drama fest. Maybe that SHOULD be an award in itself.

Glen, if you're the OP, why don't you just say so?

Last year, there were major discrepancies between the public voting and who actually won the awards. This year, people made suggestions to the OP to fix that so people could have some confidence the winners were actually the winners, and the OP ignored all of their suggestions. Do we really want another year of some shady group like The Invaders mysteriously winning everything when no one in Gameplay likes them at all? Yes, it's a light-hearted frivolous superlative contest, but people would like some confidence the actual winners are getting the awards.

You're the only one turning this into a Gameplay-politics drama fest by attempting to derail both threads.

Well, yes, but last year we saw ostensible vote fudging through private votes. That's why everybody is bothered by it this year. If things were public voting only, nobody would care. Cormac says he's doing public voting only, so there is no room for him to introduce bias (except for the textual descriptions for the awards themselves, but those come after voting is done already and I'd hope he tries to stay objective for those).

We found no sign of ostensible puppeteering last year or the year before, but the number of private votes counted last year did far surpass that of 2015.

It's been suggested via telegram that private votes should only be counted if they were sent by World Assembly nations. We feel that this is a good way to both stick with a tradition that has been in place long since before The Gameplay Awards commenced in 2015 and prevent even subtle vote manipulation.

We hold nothing against other Awards being held at the same time. In fact, we encourage all players to participate in both events in the pure interest of having fun.

There have also been lighthearted complaints about this year's "required" explanations for nominees. That has been changed to "strongly encouraged" justifications.

OP will be updated soon. Happy nominating.

Here's the issue pal.

You're an anonymous nation refusing to reveal yourself, and we therefore have literally zero reason to believe that you're actually capable enough to make that conclusion. So either prove you're capable enough by giving us some background about the player behind the puppet, or stop beating around the bush and just reveal yourself rather than continuously deflecting concerns until it's gotten so bad that someone opens a rivaling awards which then led you to finally responding on all those topics.

I'm not saying stick with the #boycott of your awards but.... wait, that's exactly what I'm saying.

That's nice but everything you say is completely worthless as long as you're anonymous.

I think, unless you're a super disliked or controversial person, you have nothing to lose by being honest. And if you are a super disliked or controversial person, then you have no business hosting these awards.
