I assume Money's betrayal is OOC? What would be a good IC meltdown then?

Keeping meltdown would be great if it could wasn't also basically the same as the event of the year.

I like the implication that the best thing to happen in Gameplay in any given year is also the worst (IC) thing to happen to someone/some group.

Eh that one is IC enough for me.

Srsly, speaking as someone from General, "best meltdown" sounds like a tool for toxicity.

Private votes will continue to be counted this year, but the voting distribution will be made available once the results have been released.

More thoughts on whether or not Biggest Meltdown should remain a category and/or how it can be modified are invited.

Don't puppets allow for an acceptable level of anonymity already? What is even the point of private voting, except to rig the results? And, while it may be fun to laugh at IC meltdowns, that IC/OOC line gets quite blurry at times. It sure is interesting watching people say how much they abhor gameplay toxicity and then refuse to take the little steps that actually contribute to reducing it.

Would the OP be able to provide assurance then that they are a qualified and capable enough individual to be able to discern puppet votes and other similar methods of anonymous vote skewing? Most of us older players have at least a couple old nations with no affiliation to us we could probably get away with using, and that's not counting all the sleepers we all own.

I sure as hell hope you're not running this on an honor system.

I'd feel more comfortable if OP just told us who they are.

I would accept a private telegram if it absolutely must remain secret.

Why? Everyone is against this, what is your justification for retaining private votes?

Why not just have everyone vote / make suggestions in a google doc then release the answers / results after it's over?

Still requires most unpopular (active) Gameplayer category.

Agreed with both. I'd be hard pressed to find two entries for "meltdown" to run against each other, if we exclude anything that qualifies as "better ignored, not awarded." And, prior years have not given me confidence in the telegram vote being remotely well handled. Unless we're expecting a significant number of people voting under the age of 13 who cannot use the forums, I see no reason to not leave all of it in the public eye.

Perhaps a regional poll restricted to WA only for the public votes? Then for the private votes people can telegram you. At least for public you'll know its legitimate.

In R/D circles, making specific events WA only is gonna get a lot of people mad. There is always people WA locked somewhere where they don't want to let it out in a way that might reveal identity, especially while our host remains anonymous.
