The Congo Free State is a new region founded to be a remembrance region and model of the former country of the same name. I also intend for the region to be a debating area for hard-hitting topics such as the ethics of slave labor, whether or not genocide was committed in the Congo, whether the Congo Free State was fascist or anarcho-capitalist, and whether or not colonialism was good for Africa.

The beauty of the Congo Free State is that it can be interpreted as having been fascist OR anarcho-capitalist, making the region suitable for nations of both varieties.

The government currently consists of just a sovereign king (me), though three positions are open. Those vacant titles are the administrator-generals of interior, finance, and foreign affairs.

I mean, imo, the basis of the region itself is flawed and your OP positing the idea that the Congo atrocities never happened is, frankly, horrible.

It is named after, and based around, the personal dominion of King Leopold II in Africa where he committed numerous atrocities and made extensive use of slave labour to enrich himself.

i'm pretty sure convincing the international community to recognise your sovereignty over a region for supposed philanthropic ventures to develop the area, swearing not to collect tax revenue, and then proceeding the declare the nation and all its inhabitants your private property and working them as slaves exterminating 10,000,000 in the process to make yourself rich from rubber exports, is by some conceptions not legally sound.

As much as it is interesting that new regions are blooming, You truly chose a debatable region to endorse or create; I can see why or how this could anger or upset many and at the same time, bring curiosity to the table. I do not know what to think about naming it off of a basic Dictatorship, however each his own. Course, I hope you have some luck with this. However, it is never a good thing to dismiss people in a thread; Where you want people to like you to persuade some traffic or members to the Region. But it is a very interesting concept.
