Hey, I'm not new to NS. The hate people get on NationStates Forum threads isn't anything new. The Gameplay community is nasty, everyone is used to it.

They aren't harming anyone just because Tawks is called "legendary". If they like the title, just leave it. There isn't anything ironic or wrong about the title anyways.

I think you're missing the point of GP if you're talking about getting along better. For the most part, everyone likes each other, but also hates each other

It's not about the idea of a new organization, its about the way it's presented. If their is a really good organization that comes around, with a good concept and proper management, it will be accepted, whether it be Raider, Defender, Imperialist, you name it. The fact of the matter here is that the Dark Vanquishers has untested leadership, a cliché name, an a generally overused and poorly thought out concept. It might succeed and it would be cool to have a fresh face in GP, but for now we'll have to see.

Perhaps we'd cut them some slack if they actually had a successful operation instead of all of their current filler. As for debating the "fine points" of legendary, that would imply that Tawks is in some way renowned. I like the guy, aside from his really poor attempts at spying, but he's done little of note in the grand scheme of things. Casually throwing around grandiose titles and adjectives just builds complacency. Instead of claiming someone's legendary, show it on the field.

There has rarely been a raiding organization that was not, to some extent, edgy. When Vulturret and I created The Dark Vanquishers, we chose that name not to sound super cool and scary or whatever, but because we wanted a darker theme for our region and edginess seemed like a way we could do that while still seeming approachable.

Also, there was something we hadn't thought of: all the trash talk we get about our name bumps the gameplay thread up quite a bit.
