4E Tamriel
It's the 220th year of the Fourth Era. The face of Tamriel has changed drastically in the past two decades. People, Nations, and Factions old and new vie for power over everything imaginable. From control of small city, to conquering Tamriel, to the subjugation of Gods. Everything is on the table. In the east, House Telvanni has risen from the ashes. For the first time in it's history, they are united in their quest for power. The human realms remain entwined in civil conflicts and separatist notions. New Orsinium has fallen, and the Orcs are scattered throughout northern Tamriel. The An-Xileel has collapsed and the Argonian's have retreated into their swampy homeland, establishing new Chiefdoms. The Aldmeri Dominion remains intact, but its various regions have splintered into independent states. Each with varying degrees of loyalty to the Thalmor. Tamriel has never been as divided as it is in this moment. There has never been a better time to rise as a leader and proclaim your nation.
Welcome to 4E Tamriel! Now for some background. This is obviously not going to be canon, so don't jump me for that please. This is an alternate timeline for the 4th Era. The events of the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim do not occur as they do normally. Alduin does not return, and thus the neither do the other dragons or the Dragonborn. Miraak also doesn't attempt to return, remaining in Apocrypha. The Stormcloak Rebellion is the most pressing matter in 4E 201. The Empire, still fearful the Aldmeri Dominion, limits the number of troops it send to deal with the rebels. Over a two year period, the Imperials are able to beat back the Stormcloaks. Ulfric falls at the Battle of Windhelm, and the war seems to be won. However, Ulfric's death emboldens other great warriors and Nord traditionalist to declare their independence from the empire and proclaims themselves the rightful rulers of Skyrim. The Imperials, face with enemies everywhere in the province, flee. They simply don't have the forces present to deal with an ongoing rebellion. Especially when the sovereignty of Cyrodiil is also threatened.
The Colovian and Niben Basin regions of Cyrodiil have become unruly in the past years. When the two regions declare independence, the Empire is faced with it own Civil War. Glossing over the events, Colovia and Nibeney also fracture. The Empire is exhausted and can no longer retain High Rock or what little Skyrim territory it holds. This of course, was the Empire's biggest fear. Because now, no one could stop the Aldmeri Dominion from rolling over the rest of Tamriel. Or so they thought.
Morrowind was written off at this point in time. Most believed that the whole nation was destroyed by the Red Mountain eruption and Argonian invasion. But this wasn't completely accurate. House Redoran remained strong and in control of the north-western portion of the land. More surprising, was the fact that House Telvanni still controlled ALL of the north-eastern and eastern portion of Morrowind. Many young Telvanni and a few elders perished in Vvardenfell during the Red Year. Many more were brutally murdered by the An-Xileel when they invaded. But some the oldest members of the Great House, Divayth Fyr, Neloth, Mistress Dratha, and the recently returned Casiath Telvanni, survived and thrived(other members survived as well). Faced with the fact that they were nearly exterminated, and the ongoing rebuilding of Morrowind and Vvardenfell, these four Master Wizards decided that House Telvanni MUST start acting like a normal Great House. They must unite. So for the first time in it's history, House Telvanni was combined in its mission for absolute power. They are still Telvanni after all.
The Aldmeri Dominion had the continent believing they were going to take over. Grandstanding is an overstatement. The Great War, civil disputes, a shrinking population caused by selective breeding practices, and increasing animosity in Valenwood and Elsweyr have made it nearly impossible for the Dominion (Thalmor) to take any serious action against other realms. So for now, the Thalmor are really only able to force their will on Dominion soil. Something they will try to fix, of course.
High Rock is now independent from the Empire, and split into multiple kingdoms as usual. Hammerfell, with its southern coast wrecked and rebuilding, is once again split between warlords supporting the Crowns or Forebears. Finally, we reach our scaly friends the Argonians. The Hist has gone silent in the past few years. Newborn Argonians are being born, but that is the extent of their interaction with the lizardfolk. The An-Xileel, no longer commanded by the Hist, collapses. Regional leaders are rising throughout the Marsh.
Rules and Basic Information:
- This Region is for fans of the Elder Scrolls series only.
- This region will be mostly for Casual Roleplay and Lore Discussion, but also General Conversation.
- Potential member nations MUST feel out the information provided at the bottom of this post.
- A Regional Map (Map of Tamriel) will be provided for applicants to stake their claim. DO NOT try and claim a ridiculous amount of territory (i.e. all of Skyrim or Cyrodiil). You will be rejected.
- Nations may also join without a map claim, but only if they are operating as a Faction of sorts. Such as a Guild or other organization. If so, they will have to provide some simple information on said group.
- Members will also be able to claim 2 Daedric artifacts/ Other magical items for their nations. Information for that will be in the application. However, this excludes the Heart of Lorkhan, the Eye of Magnus, Kagrenac's Tools, and the Numidium. There are a limited number of these so this is first come, first serve.
- This is a process, so there may be changes to this list (or region as a whole) as new members join. Any questions can be sent to me directly, and I will do my best to answer them as quick as possible.
Map Claim
ALL in white is available. Easiest way to claim is to save the image and add your nation in. Then upload a link to the image in your application and I will replicate it on the official map. Or give me a general area like "Falkreath Hold" or "Stormhaven".
