That would be extremely interesting - a World Holidays Arts Fair. If you have the time, perhaps we could do it again, but would we have regional hosts and offsite forums this time around?

Ok, because we don't want to step on the toes of the NSWF and its goings on, we will wait a little while to start another World Arts Fair as to steer clear of confusion. However, those of you who are interested in sharing your work should contact the NSWF committee because I think they have an appropriate forum for artwork and such.

Perhaps after the NSWF's completion, we can begin working on another Arts Fair. It'd be lovely to have a host this year, though if we don't, the RIA is fine with hosting again. So, let me know if you're interested and we'll go from there.

To kick off 2018, the RIA is selecting hosts for the
next World Arts Fair - January 26-29, 2018.

Happy New Year to you all from the Renegade Islands Alliance. Best wishes to you as you begin your journey this year. This event was sparked, in autumn of 2017, by the need for comradery and peace amongst NS players despite military alignment. In this edition of the fair, this principle is still present as we attempt to focus on various arts and not how much we loathe the other side.

While hosting the fair in the fall, I learned quite a bit from all of the mistakes that I made and I’m ready to give this another shot. My goal is to make this fair ten times better than last year by having more artists, volunteers, judges and visitors. (Forms for all positions available below.) Even if you don’t submit work to the fair, please join us and have fun. Celebrate with us this month.

Host Bids
Now, if there are any regions out there that would like to host this year’s event, there is a form below for you to submit. The RIA is thrilled to be a part of this event and we would like to extend a helping hand to the chosen host region. (If no host region is chosen, RIA will serve as default host). The deadline for host bids is January 11, 2018.

Judges
Each of the categories in the fair (performance, writing, visual arts) will have three judges, for a total of nine judges. Submit the Judge Form to be considered for judging in these categories. *Submitting a judge form does not guarantee your placement on a panel. The deadline for this request is January 24, 2018.

Selfishly, I try to schedule stuff like this around my plans to improve organization and give myself time to get things set - Don't judge, please! I've also had a goal of having this festival twice a year, once in the first half of the year and once in the latter half. January and June work out well for 2018, and so here we are. I also considered that some people might have an easier time sharing at one of the events - this is an attempt to involve more people and improve opportunities. While it does seem like a short period of time has passed for this cycle, that won't happen again in the future, and the fair will occur every 6 months or so.

However, if in the future my plan for two fairs a year fails, I'll be happy to rethink, reorganize and correct any conflicts or issues. I'm all about learning from mistakes.

I think it's a great idea because its a creative festival so people produce creative things more regularly then other stuff. I think maybe a fan fiction category (since Star Wars just came out and stuff ) would be awesome this time!

Edit: Maybe a roleplay one as well? In a way people or regions who do creative things can use this as a venue to show off their beautiful works and also attract people.

I would love for TSP to host but worry since people politicize things that it might lose certain factions so we'll see I guess. Would suggest Conch Kingdom or UDS put in a bid because cuteness factors <3
