Go fan your little feathers elsewhere, raider business is afoot.

You do know there's 2 defender judges right? :P

And the point remains. This is a raider award. Just because they've got some folks who know some shit about R/D who happen to be defenders on the judge's board doesn't take away from that. While they have the right to nominate, I doubt they'll be seriously considered.

Doubt away. Those defenders are judges for a reason. Someone shit-talking through a puppet while nominating a DEN/The Invaders 2.0 nation certainly doesn't have a leg to stand on.

While I'm sure I could argue heavily about that reason with you, I'm going to avoid that. That being said, I find it sort of sad that those who support the invaders have to do so behind puppets. If you're confident in your organzation, nominate it with you main nation. :P

Since you probably own Duke too could you please pick at nation and stick to it? It's getting annoying.

I'm a hawk, and I don't deal with The Invaders, as anyone who knew me during my time in Hydra can confirm. I get that you probably don't know me, which is fine, I'm relatively new to raiding (keyword: relatively) and don't tend to like to post on the forums.

Yeah I think it would actually be somewhat disrespectful to the others in the Hall of Fame if Ivo was included. His accomplishments were in an organisation of cheaters -- and he's still rather unrepentant of that.

I think we should stick to nominating stuff because the random accusations are getting annoying.

It was a valid request in relation to a nomination discussion and is response to being told by an unknown TBH member that non-raider nominations might not be considered (you post with a puppet it could be anyone, could be you Syg for all I know :P ).

Unless I missed it, I'd like to second Yuno's nomination.

She has become a force of nature for us at TWP and all the other places she raids for. Her organization of TWP and instituting high-end training has been invaluable to us. She has been responsible for bringing in dozens of new raiders into TWP.
Plus, she's a sweetie!

I'd like to nominate Berkeley Run. He was an early member of Unknown and The Brotherhood of Blood before that. He proved formative to the intel work accomplished in those regions, teaching many important techniques to those who worked with him, which had long-lasting effects both there and elsewhere. He put three months into a sleeper operation in Asia and brought three regions together in order to take the region--a major accomplishment! His activity and commitment spurred the regions in which he was active to further accomplishment.

Unless I missed it I would like to third the nomination for Tom (second director of hydra). He was the one that really pushed hydra to it's peak. He was always calm. He was personable. On a separate note he was the first person on this site that I would truely consider a friend. I've never been the most articulate and that's all I have left to say. Duke's nomination and comments

Postby Drunken Conquerors » Fri Jun 02, 2017 4:29 am

Totally me. Apologies for the confusion, I assumed it was a known puppet of mine but I tend to over estimate folks. I happened to be moving it when I checked the fruit of the poisonous tree over here, and commented.

So yes, I stand by he nomination of Knot, which was seconded, and I second the nomination of Plagentine.

He knot only started firehelm from the ground up, but when his chosen replacement choked hard and destroyed the team that had been built there, Plagentine returned from retirement and then restarted a second org from the ground up, one that raids actively.

Firehelm, under Plagentine, was a collaborator with every raider org I know, and took no political sides around nepotistic ideals. They raided to raid. A great choice.

And as much as people may be suprised I also support Koth, and General Powell. They are both legends and need not have their resumes reposted here.

BT, you are nominated (I presume) as a backhanded whack at your (former?) or current behavior as a fenda. I am sure you have as much chance of making it on that list as I do ;)

That isn't why I nominated him, and Pope Hope has more of a chance of making it on the list than you do.

The problem with a lot of these nominations is that there isn't a lasting legacy to judge these players from. Should anyone from HYDRA be considered given its collapse, merge and possible reemergence? Same for Firehelm. That may have been a fun ride for some of y'all, but it was a brief one. That's like putting me in the defender hall of fame solely for Fort Triumph. I've never been shy about my pro Yuno bias, but the reborn West Pacific military has yet to retain activity as long as Xoriet's EPSA, Imki/Roavin/Vietnam's SPSF nor the busier periods of the NPA. The judges asked for detailed cases to be made for nominees and you're not doing your candidates much justice by nominating them in two sentences or less.

EWS is more deserving of recognition than most here. His accomplishments as an invader in the Black Hawks warrants a much deserved condemnation from the SC and I'd say his leadership in the investigation and the fallout of the Predator Scandal set him above all others from his generation. The Black Hawks continue to be the largest and most successful invader organization in NationStates and a lot of it can be attributed to EWS' dedication over the past few years. They were also the organization that participated in the most cooperative operations with other invader organizations and independent regions as well. The fact that they are so heavily respected and yet their Field Marshal has only one nomination actually irritates me, and I don't even like the guy. Please someone tell me that there is a reason for this that I'm not seeing.

I nominate Ever-Wandering Souls, a nation whose infamy will be remembered.

I'm not sure that judging them based on their most recent regional associations is necessarily the right way to look at it. For example, while I personally would not include Plagentine in the Hall of Fame, his raiding career is much more and goes back quite a bit further than just Firehelm. You raise a valid point about TWPAF, but Yuno is basically a raider rockstar and that extends far beyond and predates TWPAF.

I do agree with you though that some of these nominations have not been nearly detailed enough, and my hope is that the judges will just not even consider nominations that don't meet the rule they made very clear, which is that nominations must include detailed reasons.

I actually meant to single out Plagentine as someone who has a larger history than Firehelm, but it got lost in my fervor once I realized that Souls was, in my eyes, being disrespected. I don't personally see Plag as being HoF worthy, but he's sure as heck more worthy than the kiddos. For me, Yuno is building her case right now. I wasn't all that impressed by her titles and accomplishments prior to my departure last October, but now she's emerged as a force to be reckoned with (and boy does she command respect in the war room). I'll always be harder on her than most due to my high expectations for her and she knows that. I'd be willing to nominate her in a year or two if either of us are still here.
