Good evening, Gameplay! It's your man Koth here coming at you live with a scandalous announcement: this year's Raiding Hall of Fame proceedings will be coordinated and facilitated by none other than yours truly! Jakker has done a wonderful job running the HoF since its inception in 2015, but he wanted to pass on the reins this year.

So, with that in mind...welcome back once again to the Raiding Hall of Fame! Each year, we recognize the best from raiderdom's past to enshrine forever in these hallowed halls, where their legacy can be admired by generations of raiders to come. These players paved the way for the raiders of today, and I'm excited to see who gets their name etched alongside them this year. With your nominations, we'll find out!

Guidelines for Inducting the Raiding Hall of Fame Class of 2019

Public nominations will be open now until June 30th. Any player can nominate someone for the Hall of Fame. Nominees should be gameplayers who have positively contributed to raiding over a significant period of time. To nominate, please post the nominee in this thread along with a statement describing why the player deserves to be inducted. The more information provided, the better. The judges love a well-sourced nomination.

After June 30th, the judges will come together to vote to induct up to five (5) players to this year's class. Judges will also be able to nominate players on their own. We hope to announce the inductees at the conclusion of RaiderCon.

2019 Judges:
Jakker
King HEM
Lord Dominator
Severisen
Todd McCloud

Any questions regarding the nomination process can be directed here on the thread or to Reventus Koth directly, Discord preferred. This thread can also be used to discuss and +1 potential nominees and their contributions. The judges value as much information and insight as possible. We want to recognize as many deserving players as possible. The public nomination period is officially open, so start discussing!

I see mod haxs were involved in this thread, given the change in OP (think the two lower posts were missed though).

Cool, did you read the part where I said you should write out why in as much detail as possible?

Oh lol I should have remembered I'd already asked that question. If this is my memory at 22, I hate to think how it'll be later.

1 Infinite Loop
The only Farker who has given more back to NS thank they have taken from it. One of the only groups to hit multiple targets in a single update before the modern era. Their actions include raiding Axis, an invader region itself, likely the first time raiders intentionally targeted a Nazi region.

Loop had a central role in their activities and the invader lead for the invasion of The East Pacific, as well as participating in the raid of the Heartland. The notorious Farkers compare notably to modern tag raiders and former groups such as DEN in that they often raided anonymously without natives knowing the home region of their invaders. The act of raiding and causing chaos for the natives was the goal, not flag placing.

Viper/Vippertooth33
Leader of the MT (Mariner Trench) Army and responsible for leading anti-facist raids against nazi and facist groups across NationStates. The MT Army have captured more than 100 regions to date under their leadership and Vippertooth has played a pivotal role as the lead on most of those raids, infiltrating regions ahead of their eventual strike through well managed sleeper operations, password-acquisition and assembling a large group of anti-Facist forces to support when required.

Vippertooth has also overseen important counter-intelligence operations to root out Nazi infiltrators in vulnerable groups or regions.

I'm sure he has been nominated a thousand times by now, but I'm still going to nominate Koth for the following reasons:
Koth was co-founder of the Brotherhood of Malice, an organisation notorious for it's coup of Osiris, as well as it's other raids, including the destruction of Assassins. Koth played an important in the coup of the Kemetic Republic of Osiris in 2013, establishing the Osiris Fraternal Order, a raider regime. He also co-founded the Osiris Sekhmet Legion, the raider aligned military of Osiris, which is alive and kicking today. He was also instrumental in couping Osiris a second time to save it from Almighty Jesus Whale, and served as Osiris' pharaoh twice. Koth also is on the Council of Hawks of The Black Hawks, the current largest invader region, and holds the rank of General, the highest rank one can achieve in TBH, second only to Commander in Chief, and his actions were rewarded with a Security Council Condemnation. In my opinion, Koth is more than deserving of a place in the HoF.

If I think of any other nominees, I will edit my post to describe those. Koth just was the first to come to mind.

EDIT: I would like to nominate Mallorea and Riva. Mall started out in the UDL, before switching sides and joining The Black Hawks, and would serve on the Council of Hawks. He was in command of or influential on several successful and destructive raids, as outlined in his condemnation. Not only this, but he also shared Milograd's nation during the coup of the South Pacific in 2013, in which a total of around 3,000 nations were purged from the region. And then there is his proposal "liberate Haven", a proposal to liberate a founderless roleplay region, which caused quite the stir.

I nominate Ever-Wandering Souls

The Black Hawks continue to be a large and successful region because of EWS efforts, I know that others like Koth or Jakker were also important but EWS deserves the nomination. His leadership in predator scandal set him above others, besides that he has been raiding for years.

I am actually serious about this nomination. But I can't find the sources for it that describe it better than I do

1. His invasion back in the days of (I think) the South Pacific
2. A couple of posts of (I think) Mallorea about how Sedge defended Raiding mong the mod crowd.
And since I have not seen any limiting rule here regarding modwork for a nomination (unlike the WA), it counts 8)

Seeing as there haven't been a raft of other nominations and one of the best options might be sedge...

I'm going to renominate my nominations from a few years back

Shell of Catlandatopia - a great example of a leader who ensured their region punched above their weight for a number of reasons. She was effective both in negotiating alliances and non-aggression pacts that ensured CLT were involved in some of the key battles of 2006-09 and their interests were protected by agreements that hamstrung their natural enemies and she oversaw a range of covert activities that delivered mortal strikes on multiple regions (through long-term sleeper operations) and disrupted the operations and intelligence activities of their enemies.

Meridianland - for being indefatigable in her commitment to DEN and potentially the most effective the most effective invader lead to take the field. She acted with an effectiveness and ruthlessness that has been mirrored by only a few in the game. Both her enemies and rivals suffered as a consequence of her efforts, which were at times deplorable, but very few raiders have genuinely been a bane to defenders in the way Meri was.

Already admitted, actually.

General Powell: General Powell founded DEN, one of the most recognized raiding organization in NS history. He also laid the foundations for several aspects of raiding culture. He coined the phrase, “fenda,” which is often used to reference defenders. He advocated for the use of “raider” rather than “invader.” Additionally, through many of his efforts including the 2004 NationStates Global Summit on Raiderplay and Defensive Operations, an event in which he co-host and organized, General Powell played an instrumental role in helping to legitimize raiding among the eyes of others.

Is Jakker really the only new raider to have done anything worthy of recognition in the last decade?

I'd like to nominate Sorenity2. He was a former General of The Black Hawks, one of only 3 players ever to hold the title of TBH Commander-in-Chief, and played a pivotal role alongside Red Back in refounding TBH. As TBH's Minister of Foreign Affairs, he was involved in various intel operations. Additionally, Sor infiltrated TNP as Galapagos Isle and went undercover where he rose to Minister of Defense.

I'd support this, and considered it myself, but Sor joined AWP under a different name after retiring from TBH (not sure if this was known there) and was eventually punished for multiing which potentially undermined his intel achievements in my mind. Still a worthy candidate though
