I'd like to stay Socialist with a good environment and private Enterprise illegal. Is it possible to uphold my principles and still raise my economy? I sabotaged it 2 years or so ago, can't remember why, now...

As Drachmaland said, there's loads of ways to do it. I'll include my nations Thalasse, Xynlandia and Heliosphere as very different examples of nations with good economies and illegal private enterprise. The common thread among these nations is high business subsidisation, so that's probably the stat you'll be wanting to raise if you want a good economy.
