3. The Media Office has moved NS Census IV to the month of March.
4. The Media Office has also made notable changes to the statistics table, adding a population section and top 100 rankings for total nations, population, endorsements, delegates, and influence.

Polls

CK: “Should Nations Have Access to WMDs?”, “Should Government Support Affirmative Action?”, “Should Television be Censored?”, “Should Governments Use Antitrust Laws?”, “Pats or Rams?”, “Should the Government Provide Free Health Insurance?”, “How Should the Government Help the Homeless?”

DN: N/A

News
Notable Regional News
Conch Kingdom
1. Assembly of Nation elections are in progress.
2. The nation count has reached 200 total and 100 WA+.
Lands End
1. An embassy was opened in LE with Redlandia and Almaren.
2. LE reached #8 in endorsements worldwide.
Ridgefield
1. Three factions (Order Populaire, Ad Libertas, and the Union-Panem Comintern) have been established.
2. The Chief of Police position is open and candidates are being sorted out.

A Guide to NSVerify
August has put out a dispatch detailing the nuts and bolts to the NSVerify system which can be found here. It is very detailed and is here to help the average user and server get a better understanding as to what the bot actually does. The dispatch includes a FAQ, configuration and general information as to what the functions are.

It is important to note that the AA runs its Discord server on this feature and all 450+ users residing there have found it understandable and easy to use. After running for nearly nine months, there has been a great deal of growth! The Alliance has seen no problems implementing it and it will be a great help to those that run regional servers.

February Interview

I spoke with a person formerly known as Gibraltarica, a former founder, delegate and AA Media Officer. Below is a small Q&A.

As a former AA member, what was your most notable accomplishment?
Probably helping to revitalize Conch Kingdom. People might not remember it, but in January of '18, CK was at low population and a lot of leadership was on the brink of retiring. Through my work in the IA ministry and recruitment, Conch Kingdom continued to thrive, and still continues to.

What was your best experience all around?
My best experience was my work with August on the CSC and related projects. A lot of it's still confidential, so I can't say more, but we really worked well in planning stuff together.

Going forward with your comeback, what are you most looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to improving the security in Pacifica the most. My work in Carolingia with encouraging WA membership should help me transition well into that role.

Do you have anything planned going forward?
I hope to be able to relax and stay in one or two regions. I plan to do my best with what I'm given in Pacifica.

Extremely disappointed LE has constructed embassies with a fascist region that post racist remarks in their discord server (Redlandia).

If they think your region is fascist they probably don't care at all. Saying "we're all laughing at you" just makes you seem like jackasses.

do more harm than good.: 73.8%

Yes: 40.8%
No: 48.5%

March Interview

I spoke with Clis, the delegate of Dawn, JTF officer and top notch recruiter. Below is a small Q&A.

As a leader in the JTF, what are your goals for the organization?
The org is alive again. It is time to scale up. We currently lack numbers, and we will need more enlisted folks and more officers before we can do anything substantial on our own.

What has been your best AA experience?
Meeting the people. I have met a lot of good people in the org, among them Arudis. I have of course enjoyed NSGP, but the AA is nothing without the people.

What do you feel is the most interesting part about Conch Kingdom?
I again have to answer that it is just the community. There is a strong and positive community here, and it is honestly what has kept me on NS.

Do you have any notable plans going forward?
Well I, of course, have my eyes on Directing the JTF. There really isn't any competition, so all I need is to get more experience. I also have Dawn to attend to, but that has a less clear line of attack. I am working with my colleagues to figure out what that will look like.

What have you been doing to aid in Dawn's revitalization?
Recruitment, primarily. This among attempts to promote cross-endorsing within the region. My role in all of this has not been entirely fleshed out, nor anybody else's. So while we work on reorganizing the government, this is all there is to be done at the moment.

April Interview

I spoke with Arudis, the delegate of Conch Kingdom, former AA moderator and topnotch recruiter. Below is a small Q&A.

As delegate of Conch Kingdom, what has been your best experience?
Honestly, I think my best experience as the delegate was first getting the position. I campaigned and sent telegrams for about two and a half months or so before I actually achieved my goal. Nothing has quite compared to the satisfaction of finally reaching the top.

You have racked up nearly 10,000 recruit messages sent in that last few months, helping CK reach a peak of nearly 400 nations. Do you have any particular advice to people looking for a method of recruitment?
Playing music or a video in the background has always kind of made it “more fun” I guess. Since it’s not just sitting there in silence, waiting for the next nation to get founded. Listening to music at least gives you something else to kind of focus on.

In terms of governing CK, do you have any notable plans going forward?
Honestly, not really. I don’t really do a lot of the “governing” part of CK, I just mostly enforce rules and kick out rule breakers. I throw in my piece of mind when it’s needed or when I feel like I have something to say.

As a longtime member of the AA, what’s your best memory of the community?
My all-time favorite memory... that’s a hard one. I guess I’m gonna have to go with the first N-Day event we had. None of us really had any idea what we were doing, and there was just a lot of excitement and adrenaline, activity was through the roof! It’s not exactly a treasured memory, but it certainly will be unforgettable.

May Interview

Kurczak Mielony took it upon himself to conduct this month’s interview and give me some questions. For some background on myself, I am DiRito-Opolis, the delegate of Ridgefield, AA Administrator and moderator, and AA Media Officer.

As delegate of Ridgefield for well over a year, what has been your best experience?
I love guiding the region to the best of my ability in general. Ultimately, my job is to make sure that I oversee maximum involvement and growth. While this is a challenge at times, I do love teaching all kinds of residents the ins and outs of the game as well as the rules and expectations of the region.

What has been your most challenging experience in the AA?
As the Media Officer, I oversee and attend to ethical problems alongside August and the other officials, so I would say that is typically the most difficult to deal with. It is never fun to hop into the latest drama and it always presents some sort of risk.

Do you have any plans going forward for the AA in your new role as administrator?
Overseeing growth in all of the AA is my number one goal, though I would first like to see Narnia and Dawn. As time has gone on, we have lost key players in our community either due to apathy or real life situations, so it has been difficult operating with thinner numbers. That said, Dawn and Narnia are two projects I would like to attend to immediately.

As a longtime member of the AA, what’s your best memory of the community?
When Helaw, Vinny, August and myself bounced an insane amount of credits back and forth on Helaw’s trading card during the 2018 April Fools event, growing the value of Helaw’s card to an insane amount and watching people get confused over what was going on. The final seconds of the event will haunt me forever. I still have nightmares.

June Interview

I interviewed Tulov, a former AA administrator and CK delegate. Below is a small Q&A.

What has been your best experience in the AA?
Honestly, I think N-Day2 was the most fun I've had in the AA, and on NS in general. Specifically, when we piled all those nukes on TWP and blew them to millions of pieces.

As Delegate in CK for over 250 days, what was your biggest contribution?
I would say holding the region together in its darkest hour. It took a lot of recruiting (to which I would like to give special thanks to our former members, Arudis and Cap) and a lot of prompting people, but the region survived, the government underwent numerous changes, but it finally got back up on its feet, and has been going strong ever since.

Now that you are semi-retired from the Administrator position and no longer have any governmental duties, what are you most looking forward to?
Getting to finally focus on roleplaying, namely building up the lore of my nation via its many factbooks and dispatches. I've waited quite a long time for this day.

As a dedicated roleplayer with several dispatches detailing the lore of your nation, what did you have the most fun creating?
I would say my documentary dispatch of the Thirteenth Krasno-Tulovian War, "An aggressor, and a victim." It took a while, and ended up being two dispatches (almost three!), but I don't think I've ever been as satisfied with one as I have those. https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1085389 https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1085390

Sweet, glad to have you on board with us.

Just a general note to the public, I resigned as the Media Officer in the AA and looked for a replacement throughout the month so that is why the update is so late. YCP proved to be the most promising candidate. He will be bringing you the updates, announcements, and info from now on while I will handle the administrative side of the Alliance. I have a lot of faith in him (no pun intended) and he'll hopefully bring much needed new life here.

P.S. Updates will be released at normal times from now on.

Why do you post these things if you’re not even going to make them interesting? TL/DR

Hi Block,

In all fairness to the people who make these things, some crazy shit has been going on this month and prevented the publishing of the update. A lot of people are working very hard to keep the AA running and some times the updates get put on the back burner. If it's any consolation though my JTF update is setting up to be pretty snazzy.
