Operation is over per 30 something fendas pouring into the region in a timely manner. Congratulations to them for the turnout and the fast movement, i enjoyed the Mexican stand off before the update. Managed to get eight of you despite my pages reloading slower than the Serbian economy, so i got the chance to shake some rust off. See you barbarians in the next target o/

Yeah, we had a call out anyway for some other things and got surprisingly amazing turnout, so you kinda got caught in the cross-fire :P. That trigger had double the intended length, so that was a scary half minute watching and waiting the banjects

Great report, thanks for the congrats, and see ya next time for (hopefully) another 12-hour lib :D o/

This Week In Rome

Military activity

This week the Roman military was deployed in order to assist our friends in The West Pacific and the Augustin Alliance, with pilers first deploying in Republic of Kekistan and then moving to DankMemes, which followed the previous military operation in which we have taken part in a group anti-fash refound of Eite Region of Global Command. However, aside from the standard operations Rome's cavalry could be seen this week riding across the barbarian lands and civilizing towns during the minor updates.

The Roman cavalry went out and [s]raided[/s] civilized some foreign regions that were in pretty bad shape during a training run for an enthusiastic young soldier. Fenda barbarians attempted to stop us in our benevolent quest, but they could not match the speed of our horses and the riding skills of true Romans. In total 14 regions received the benefits of Roman rule, and have began converting to our noble ways.

Troops involved:
Emperor Plagentine
Legatus Kyorgia

Elections and the Senate

Last Sunday the Roman Empire held its first Consular elections, during which two candidates ran for the position of Consul - head of the executive government. At first the candidates for the spot were Titus Vasentius, a relatively new Roman player, and Leo Drakan, a more experienced player. However, with Titus dropping out of the race and Astra Rigel Vasentius proclaiming her candidacy the election became more suspenseful. Through most of the two day voting period Leo and Rigel were tied, however Rigel ended up winning by a single vote with a total of seven votes. So far she has announced her cabinet(Cat for Culture, Leo for Foreign Affairs, Thorn100 for Recruitment, Festavo for Integration) which has been approved by the Senate of the Roman People. The legionaries and citizens of Rome look forward to seeing the new administration in action.

Additionally, per the changes of the Codex Romanum, we have a new Senate of the Roman People. The Senate currently consists of Leo Drakan, Thorn1000, and Tawks VerinGuard II, among which Leo Drakan has been chosen as the Speaker of the Senate. Since his election, Leo has been keeping the Senate busy with a few discussions and has a promising plan for the remainder of his interim term. In his plan for the future, Leo outlined that he wanted to officially establish a Senate Protocol Act, push some amendments to the Codex, create the position of deputy consul, and create an environment in which the cabinet can be more flexible. An ambitious plan that the we believe the Senate will succeed in with Leo in charge.

The Rise of factions

Since the restructuring of the Codex Romanum, where major reforms were put in place, two factions have risen within the Roman Empire. The first one being founded by Leo Drakan and currently numbering at six members is officially named Verum Militiae Romanus. The VMR is dedicated to expanding Roman influence and establishing a strong sense of community within the region, as their ideology platform suggests:

The Verum Militiae Romanus faction wishes to expand our region beyond what outsiders think we will do. To do this, we must spread our Foreign Affairs efforts across NationStates, prioritize our citizens' education on our government, develop our own unique culture, and spread the words of our shared religion. Our faction will be dedicated to making a better, stronger, more united Rome under our Emperor by any means called for, including military contact.

The Second faction is the Warriors of Benevolence, founded by Festavo Vasentius. Currently it is the largest faction within the Empire, numbering at seven members, and is waving the flag of moralist raiding in their ideology platform.

The Order dedicates itself to the principles of Moralist Raiderism; that raiding is the morally right thing to do and is a necessary activity. We believe that our invasions help convert the barbarian natives into civilized Romans, and increase the population and activity of their regions. The only reason some natives react negatively to this is because it is a natural reaction to being shown the right way. But in time, they all become proper Romans and embrace the true Gods. Therefore, those who oppose raiding and attempt to prevent it are seen as the ultimate form of barbarians, completely ignorant to the virtues that are engraved in every Roman.

Though currently this faction has the higher ground in terms of political power, as the whole Imperial Tribunal has joined it, in the future the tables may turn with the growth of the VMR or the rise of other factions. Certainly the stage is set for any faction to work towards expanding its power and influence within the Empire, and beyond it. And with that we look forwad to seeing the political rivalries and fight for supremacy play out, as well as the fight for military supremacy in the gladiator games that the officers of Rome are currently planning. But more on that in a future update!

Long live the Roman Empire, long live the Emperor!

The first name, although dubious in its Latin accuracy depending on what it's trying to say, is at least thematically appropriate. Warriors of Benevolence just sounds like a Benevolent Thomas fan club.

"Ban anime or we'll invade you"

Image

The virtuous Romans took upon themselves the dangerous but necessary task of removing anime from existence, together with their friends from The Invaders, USSF, and The 1st Order. During the update numerous Roman ships appeared in the seas surrounding Japan, and managed to outmaneuver the fenda ships that caught sight of them. After lending on the shores, anime and manga destroyer cohorts proceeded to assume a tight formation and gradually fight their way through to the inner parts of the islands. After hours of battle and hundreds of mangas burned, the capital of Tokyo fell and the throne of the Delegacy was seized by the Roman legions.

Image

In the chaos of the battle, the fendas actually ended up endorsing Emperor Plagentine as he ascended to the Japanese throne,
giving the Romans unnecessary but pleasantly surprising support. Once the islands have been secured, ships carrying reinforcements started coming in and constructing forts on key strategic places such as the anime museums and drawing supplies stores. The fight for total control over Japan's otaku dens has yet to go through, but we rest assured that the Gods will favor the just and the righteous in this battle. Long live the Roman Empire, long live the Emperor!

official roman flag waving proudly above a liberated region

A smol training raid took place today as Plagentine taught a young Roman how to point, and therefore increase the number of free regions. After a couple hits the Romans joined in on a fash bash that didn't really work out that well so they went back to liberating regions from spooky barbarian culture and bringing civilization to all who were in their path. A total of 8 regions were shown the right way today, and now fly the really cool super official roman flags on them.

Did you know that every day hunderds, even thousands of founderless regions go on living as barbarians in their little huts and without proper building materials and techniques? Our extensive research has concluded that the number of these regions keeps rising every day, and that most of these natives go their entire lives without seeing proper sanitation or an amphitheater. We weep for those who cannot afford a proper civilization for themselves, and our hearts ache for those who are left without any help in this world. That is why we do our best to send aid to these regions as much as we can, in order to better the lives of the many natives who so desperately need Roman influence. This update, we were joined by a General from The Invaders, Hired Contractor, in our mission to help the natives and managed to reach 38 regions just in time to give them the gift of Roman rule and culture. Do your part in helping the natives, and join our quest for a better world by assisting as many regions as you can.
