Oh look. A raider region that targets 'traitors of the raider cause' in its mission statement. Because this mindset worked out the last 100,000 fucking times, didn't it?
Oh, no, wait, this mindset almost killed Gameplay.

Who knows, though. The Roman Empire may end up being a serious Predator.

I love how the moderates are claiming that purism is toxic yet they are the most common sources of toxicity in this community. Don't make me point to the logs. I have the utmost faith that TRE will stay true to the raider cause without stooping to the level of maliciousness that is perpetrated by our ideological and physical opponents.

Not really. Broadly speaking, those that seem to be dismissed as "moderates" look to be attempting to get people to play by the rules and in a competitive yet generally decent manner. In contrast, those that declare themselves "purists" seem to have the most trouble abiding by the rules and interacting in a polite fashion. There's a lesson to be learnt there, if you're open to doing so.

We can just agree to disagree, Sedge. In any case, TRE has a good group of people making the foundation for an amazing community. Purism or not won't hurt it.

And on another note, this old priest here announces that the gods good will is upon the Roman Empire.

Who are you? I've been wondering since yesterday. Asked and answered on Discord.

I'm not sure why you and Plagentine seem to think this is off-topic. When you include thinly veiled raider purism in the OP of your region's Gameplay thread, discussing it is completely on-topic. If you didn't want to talk about it, perhaps you shouldn't have included it in the OP.

So moderates were responsible for Predator and the illegal recruitment tool The Black Riders used? Oh, nope, so-called "purists" did that.

It's not a coincidence that this rhetoric is coming from the only two invader regions that tolerate Gest's presence.

Perfect example of the mindset that almost destroyed raiding. Thanks, Brother!

Having Gest involved just makes me immediately think this will be another rule breaking cheater raider group, cause that dude has never played by the rules.

Yes, well, it certainly hasn't been the moderates calling our members prostitutes and making OOC threats advocating the deaths of our friends. Among many, many other things.

Out of curiosity, is this a member of your org? the_miarii_empire

As laughable as 'invading' TGW's jump point is, I hope the following activity won't be the norm from your org (unless this person isn't a member).

66 minutes ago: The Miarii Empire's influence in The Roman Empire rose from "Zero" to "Squire".
10 hours ago: The Miarii Empire relocated from Spear Danes to The Roman Empire.
10 hours ago: The Miarii Empire lodged a message on the Spear Danes Regional Message Board.
11 hours ago: The Miarii Empire was ejected from the WA for rule violations.
13 hours ago: The Miarii Empire seized the position of Spear Danes WA Delegate from The Opressed Peoples of Unorehaj.
1 day ago: The Miarii Empire's influence in Spear Danes rose from "Zero" to "Sprat".
1 day ago: The Miarii Empire was ranked in the Top 10% of the world for Most World Assembly Endorsements.
1 day 5 hours ago: The Miarii Empire was endorsed by The Borderlands of Wallykazam.
1 day 5 hours ago: The Miarii Empire was endorsed by The Republic of Somalia but with beer.
1 day 5 hours ago: The Miarii Empire was endorsed by The Republic of Suicide with a leafblower.

11 hours ago: Suicide with a leafblower was ejected from the WA for rule violations.
11 hours ago: Somalia but with beer was ejected from the WA for rule violations.
11 hours ago: Wallykazam was ejected from the WA for rule violations.

Their RMB post was both hilarious and puzzling:

Why are you harboring the person responsible for the destruction of two raider regions due to rule-breaking that occurred under his watch?

The focus of the region remains the same as in Firehelm, not sure what you're talking about. Also Gest is not a member of TRE, he's just chilling with us on the discord. Regardless of that, i do not care to go into an argument of TBR and DEN and who is responsible for what, mostly because that would be threadjacking.

Congratulations on your new region!

Raiderdom is a whole, from the absolute extreme to the more moderate raiders have an entirely different mindset. However the opinions of people who actually betrayed us by going defender on us don't matter to us.

Posts in this thread remind me why I NEVER come on this damn forum.

Let me catch you before you edit the rest of that to make sense, because I already know where you're going with that.

I 'betrayed' raiders because once I got near the top, I saw how extremists were running things into the ground. From the illegal recruiting scripts made by DoS players, to the brainwashing of new kids, to what happened with the female players, I honestly felt physically sick. Stay loyal to that bullshit? Never.

There are still raiders today that like and trust me, too, Vac. Some for what I did. For my 'betrayal'. For doing the right thing. For doing the humanly decent thing. For showing Nationstates how raider extremists were using a program to cheat, and then opening up about everything else.

Raider extremism did well to die off, and it needs to stay dead.

Yea I had to edit it because the sentence did not make sense. I have an issue with typing, my fingers and brain don't always act in sync and it proves to be the death of me sometimes. I'm at the top myself and these days, in the new raiderdom, there isn't an issue with rule breaking, at least in the circles I run in. I'm looking at the "company line" so to speak from the Romans as a sort of propaganda to get people excited, at least that's my opinion. I myself am joining up just to see what happens, and because I like raiding. :P I will admit, that I will leave if I see rule breaking the very second I see it.

I will go ahead and state that opinions I express here do not represent opinions of The Roman Empire in spite of my membership in the region.

That's fair. I'm glad to hear there's no rule-breaking going on. If raiding didn't fucking learn from Predator, then it'd never learn.
As for my giant word bomb, I guess when I see raiding purism or something about how much of a traitor I am, I remember all the times now-DoS players were harassing me on and off of the site about it, and just get REALLY TRIGGERED. :p

Romans slowly sneaking their way into the region

The Sense of Right Alliance chosen for the shooting of a new movie!

Did you like the latest Beauty and the Beast movie? Yeah, we didn't really enjoy it either. Seemed kinda off for some reason, was kinda disappointing. Well, as true good Romans, we decided to remake the movie ourselves! Indeed, the Emperor had ordered that preparations for the shooting of the Beauty and the Barbarian: Ancient Edition. Naturally we had to make the movie Roman-friendly, otherwise the plebeians would have never bought the tickets for it. We've looked around for a good spot to shoot the promising movie, and we found a very comfortable and pleasant place that we think works great. Now you may say: "You Romans are cruel people for invading a region simply to shoot a movie there, you should have just asked for permission from the natives!" But we couldn't just abandon the Roman tradition of conquering a foreign land and subjugating it to our law, so we decided it would take less time if we just marched right in there.

Image
Two roman guards posing with a native resident

Luckily for all you Native Rights Activists out there, the barbarians within the settlement were quite hospitable to their new Roman overlords and have yet to shown signs of dissent. Certainly, this is proof that Roman civilization is loved and respect by people throughout the world. Or that's at least what my chamber of long lasting advisers who always agree with me have told me. In any case, now that we've established full control of the territory we've began setting up the sets necessary for the filming and have already chosen a big part of the cast. We also couldn't help but begin building some sewers and Roman temples in the region, the urge was just stronger than us. The ticket price for viewing the masterpiece is a modest price of a single endo. And for all of you who can't pay, the Emperor has personally taken money out of his purse to broadcast the movie across the Empire! So make sure to watch the Beauty and the Barbarian: Ancient Edition, coming in an amphitheater near you!

Main cast:
Emperor Plagentine
- as the guy with the delegacy
Legatus Noblus Maximus - as the coffee pot
Centurion Thorn1000 - as the beauty
Signifier Aav Vasentius - as that loud dude in the town

And don't forget the diligent supporting cast: USSD and The Invaders
