Again, not really. We fight the defenders on the field, but we set aside our differences when fighting the fash. That's a way of operating that has existed long before you or i started raiding.

Major Update Report: July 15th, 2017

At tonights major update our brave legionaires marched out onto the tag fields amidst a horde of barbarians who pulled off three defenses against our brave soldiers. The night was an overall success with a total of twenty-seven barbarian villages raided under the command of Optio Vac. Our forces were supported by soldiers from the USSF and from The Galactic Order.

Due to some technical and human errors today the Romans were not at the top of the game, but still managed to be at the top of 11 regions. These regions are very happy to receive their new latin overlords and culture, and will be treated fairly under the new laws. We wish them a prosperous future as a certain percentage of the population is sold into slavery for the benefit of those in Italy.

The Roman Office of Information brings you the non-regular bi-weekly-ish report of activities from the region which may or may not be posted at some point in the future depending on whether we figure out a regular template for these updates or something. Honestly these reports are only as fun as I'm free to take the piss out of both friends and foes, so that's the main factor for how often they're posted. That, and the roman bureaucracy is just a huge mess that takes so many bribes and hours to actually do anything and I would rather spend my coins on another elephant.

Viertes Reich locked down and secured

A couple weeks ago, after three-ish weeks of occupation of the fascist region Viertes Reich by the coalition of Ruining Nazi Sandcastles the region has been cleansed of all fascist elements and locked down by the patriotic and sometimes blond super spaniard Thorn, who has used his alien abilities of changing his hair color and intensely staring at the enemy for dozens of episodes at a time to completely and utterly bash the fash. If you want to see the battle in more detail, please check out this recording of the fierce and breath-taking battle. We would also like to thank August from the Joint Task-force for bringing to my attention that I've been using an outdated influence formula for the password, and cutting down the anticipated length of the occupation. On one side that was an oversight on my part, on the other side i'm happy that I've been raiding for long enough that I ended up using methods that are now considered outdated. Gives me a warm tingle in my heart, which might also be because of that mysterious substance that the Persian King gave me.

In the past couple of weeks we have conducted several tag raids, mostly during minor updates, and have accumulated a total of 70+ hits. Though we've been having some technical issues with our sheet and general variance problems because the update is, uhh, completely fine and operational as always ( ) we've been putting out regular raids nonetheless. As our numbers and activity gradually increase, our experts make a projection for the future which has pleased both the Emperor and his staff. However it may be that we're just paying them too much and that they're all yes-men, but we'll see. The roman military machine marches on regardless of the hardships, and continues to carve a path for itself in the world.

Off-site activity and stuff

While also maintaining a continuous military presence on the field, the Roman Empire has also been experiencing high amounts of activity on its discord and fair amounts of activity on its forum. While the forum is nothing spectacular, it has an active spam game sector and a casual roleplay thread that has been going since April, and occasional discussion threads. Our discord chat has been keeping up high amounts of activity and manages to regularly fetch over two thousand messages per day, while sometimes going over that, as well as some voice chats here and there. The discord hosts a variety of different activities, from debating serious topics to spam wars and casual talk and all the way to games such as cards against humanity and skribble. We've also been planning some other games such as risk and spy that we will give a try relatively soon, the former of which definitely hasn't been postponed due to the Emperor taking a liking to CoD zombies. For exactly a month now we've also been doing an almost weekly regional podcast called the Roman Rabble in which we, get this, rabble on about various topics both NS related and RL related. In honor of the coolest of the seven hills of Rome, we've gone out this minor to raid through the fields. We've fetched 27 small hills this fine day, and have built shrines to Mars on each one of them as our tribute for a fine day of fighting. The residents of Aventine have celebrated as their triumphant fellow Romans returned from the battle and showered them with trinkets and gifts that were looted in the conquering, and it looks like the celebrations will continue all summer long.

"But what is so good about our culture?" a nameless Munifex asks with skepticism.
"How dare you!" the mighty Optio yells in rage. "The culture of Rome is superior to all! Get him out of my sight!"
"I didn't mean it! Noooo!" The Munifex is dragged away and beaten for his crimes. He may never be seen again.
"No questioning the superiority of Rome," Optio Vac commands with a very stern demeanor. "Are we clear?"
"Crystal!" the remaining Legionnaires shout.
"Now let's enlighten some barbarians." The seasoned Roman leader grins as he draws his sword and mounts his horse. "Mount up and move out!"

An enthusiastic and culturally superior team of Roman Legionairres rode into and "enlightened" 15 regions while the barbarians slept in their once safe beds. The surviving barbarians were left with cultural enrichment and a feeling of overwhelming pride and love for the mighty Roman Empire. Chants of "All hail Mother Roma!" could be heard filling the streets and booming through valleys everywhere. It's a wonderful thing to be left with such an incredible gift when it isn't even Christmas.

The unstoppable forces of The Roman Empire were advised by a paid image consultant that a photo op, song parody, and a tag raid would do wonders for their image and careers. With carefully applied makeup, immaculate costu-err battle armor, and some rockin tunes from Twisted Roman, the Roman warriors went into 27 regions and held totally impromptu photo ops.
