The Grey Wardens and their Libcord allies coming back from their supposed 'death' to dominate would-be taggers once again (2021, colorized)

Hello Gameplay,

If you've been frequenting in this forum for the last couple of days, you might've heard about how the independents/unaligned managed to overcome the Libcord doomstack, how they managed to break the secret code to our unprecedented success, how they managed beat us on Tuesday, a sacred weekday when defender power remains at least triple the normal level according to the legends.

Needless to say, the rumors of our demise was greatly exaggerated.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes after coming back to life, Libcord got its shit together and decided to face the Independent Dream Team - consisting of the NPA, ERN, EPSA and Thaecia (no Lily sadge!1!1) and boasting a mighty 11 updaters - front-on with our own doomstack of 15 updaters this major. With no less than seven 0s chasers at the helm, a rapidly improving supporting cast of 1-2s chasers (shoutout to Python for his rapid improvement!) and no Hawks in sight to act as distractions, we owned the battlefield tonight, defending 39 regions and successfully updating in another dozen or so. The Indie Dream Team - operating out of Crystal Falls, running on tight triggers and having a decent stack - managed to hit 23 regions, mostly on 0s triggers that updated before all of our chasers could get in.

Overall, they put up a really good fight and it was a fun update all around, but the outcome remains the same; defenders win, r*iders lose, all the usual stuffs you're used to by now. We'll continue taking on all comers along with Libcord (For Your Protection) and we'll continue dominating them as usual. Over and out.

Well that was an entertaining two day intermission, but we will now return to your regularly scheduled programming of Libcord (For Your Protection) dominance.

gj tonight team, and well fought by NPA-EPSA-ERN-THA.

A Grey Warden carving through the oncoming Independent horde.

Those dastardly independents tried it again, tonight's major the brave warriors of the Grey Wardens and their friends in Libcord (For Your Protection) logged in to see the now familiar sight of nine independent troops from NPA, ERN, THA, and EPSA pooling their strength in an attempt to put some dirt in the eye of Big Defender. However, they ran into the classic issue that comes up when you try to boom Libcord (For Your Protection), we're big, we're strong, we're skilled, and damn are we fast. Buoyed by a force of eleven Grey Wardens, seven allies from the LDF, SPSF, UDSAF, and a guest appearance by three members of TITO, the forces of defending fought their way to a crushing 75% winrate over the Independent coalition out of Ailoare. To give credit where credit is due, the indies might have been bowed and bent tonight and last night, but their morale remains unbroken, if The Black Hawks were running this series of ops they would have scrapped them and capitulated when Libcord (For Your Protection) won out on Sunday night. Thankfully our non-invader competitors are made of sterner stuff, which is great for us because a worthy adversary is the most enjoyable to best.

Occupations are now literally impossible
Image

Defenders have now discovered the technique of "godgaming", also called "being-better-at-the-game" in some circumstances. This technique has not been known (nor selectively used) by raiders for years, and defenders have now discovered it to brutal effect.

To those uninitiated: Regions update in a random but deterministic order. In military gameplay, the way operations are timed is by checking when prior regions/nations have updated; these nations/regions are selected by estimating (through a variety of means) how long before the target region they update. "Being-better-at-the-game" is when defenders move into a region quickly with more endorsements very close to when raiders initially move into the target region to prevent raiders from stealing the delegacy.

What happened now is the following: Raiders from LWU have, for two regions in a row, assembled the largest raider force in the past few months, at 6 and 7 updaters, respectively (the previous record was 4 with The black hawks back; usually a force of over 2 is considered large for them). We were aware that the defenders had been “being-better-at-the-game” hard, so we took precautions. In the Japan occupation, we had moved nations secretly but ultimately failed due to a combination of poor numbers and leadership. At this major update, however, when we tried to replicate the success, Defenders prepared by being better at the game than us. Despite secretly preparing our clean puppets, defenders were still able to spot them. Worse of all, they were able to pay attention to us as we staged throughout all of update to hit our 2 backwater targets!

It's already an uphill battle for raiders, for a number of reasons (poor quality updaters vs. high quality updaters, having poor faction leadership, etc.); there is no longer a way to have acceptably safe moves into a region. If the trigger is too short, nobody updates; if the trigger is too long, the defenders will simply move their deathstack in and prevent us from taking the delegacy. Margins of any additional updaters simply don't exist in any practical situation. All this time, raiders at least had it in their hands to time their entry into the region with 7s and 3s triggers - long enough that everybody (even on a phone) can get in, short enough to minimize the margin for deathstack entrance. This is now in the defender’s hands as well.

In other words: This is basically game over for the raider military game.

Now: What can be done about this? I don't know. I suspect some on the opposing side will claim that we just need to "get better" again, but there always was a way to get better (and we did aplenty in the past few years) and this is no longer the case. I don't know if this is something that site administration even wants to address at this point - vulnerable regions will simply not get raided and griefed, and that's just how the game is. So maybe nothing. But I don't know how it could be "fixed" either to restore at least a semblance of balance to an already skewed game of raiders vs. defenders. I'm drawing an absolute blank.

I don't really have a question; but I felt it's something that's worth pointing out and maybe discussing.

Regions unfairly defended due to the poor meta and not at all due to raider inability:

Yeah but I shouldn't be jumping faster than Haku or Alt. Yet I did. That's my only complaint.

Given that you're moving off the trigger and we aren't, your entire group should be making it in before any defenders do. I strongly recommend gitting gud so you can achieve this.

Nah, this is impossible.

That mentality is why raiders have been lacking.

Factcheck: On April 18th 2021, a party of about fifty raiders took over the delegacy of Prima Victoria, before it was restored to CoraSpia/GVH the following update. By no means was LWU's recent Seven Nations Army "the largest... in the past few months."

Even when needlessly hit and run fact checking our agendaposting the peanut gallery validates us by using our own site to do it. What’s more fun, however, is that your “fact-checking” is literally just wrong. Prima Victoria had independents involved on the occupation. Matthew very clearly says “raiders”, and I would encourage you to more thoroughly read our reports if you want to try to act all smart at us.

No, you definitely should be. However, I’m content to accept that our success lives so rent free in your heads that you don’t even expect to beat us into your own targets anymore. As Matthew says, it’s mentalities like this which make continued victory so easy for us.

I should probably clarify, that I don't care about victories or losses. I mean, getting victories feels better than not, but I don't care aside. All I personally care about is getting better at being faster. There is no raider side or defender side or whatnot. I don't just raid, I also defend and bash fash. Obviously I cannot do two of those things at the same time with current organizations, but it doesn't mean I can't go on hiatus with one and play with others.

So, yes, I do not care about victory or defeat for a "side". Since I treat you all as the same and as friendly rivals. On the other hand, I do care about trying to be fast and staying fast enough. Vinny and Sakana are people that I do not have the capability of surpassing yet, so they are a goal. Then there are people who are faster but within the realm that I pace usually right behind them (Haku).

Which is why I am talking about speed here.

A Grey Warden sending Atlae off in style to Kandarin's BBQ.

After a slow weekend of cleaning up raider graffiti the Grey Warden war machine roared back to life this major update, upon sensing the presence of another large group of independent regions gathering together for a joint tag operation celebrating The Atlae Isles' (possible?) election as TEP's next delegate. (Somehow Atlae's victory is uncertain but they had a send off party anyway, don't ask me I just update.) Of course a party ain't a party without the presence of Libcord (For Your Protection) so we visited the taggers in the regions they moved to, usually before those regions updated, although some strange site lag/instability forced us to miss a few more parties than we otherwise would have. Lag notwithstanding, the phalanx of nineteen Libcord soldiers with ten Grey Wardens at its core could not be broken by the gaggle of indie partygoers, especially with a little extra help from our friends in TITO. Happy (possible?) election to Atlae, good updater, cool person, and happy certain victory to us.

Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

Congrats on y'all's election lol

I suppose in the case I don't win it's a sendoff for a few weeks anyway because of the delegate transition

The Grey Warden beating up The Black Hawk in MinorMania XXIV

Good evening dear listeners, and welcome to the MinorMania XXIV! Today we will be witnessing the main event, the brutal beatdown between The Grey Warden and The Black Hawk. What do you think Chuck?
Well, Mike, I am going to be interested if The Black Hawks will show us how they are the most feared wrestler in the NationState's Wrestling Federation. Their recent losing streak outside of their tag-team matches has been raising eyebrows I tell you what.
Alright, Chuck, it looks like our wrestlers are entering the ring at the same time thanks to the recent budget cuts after our CEO lost at least 25% of our annual income in the card trading business.
(and because Merlin is fucking lazy and does not want to write each one intro separately)
The Black Hawk is jumping around the ring in what seems to be a bid to distract The Grey Warden for an opening to hit. Getting a couple of small hits then and now. And what's that? It looks like The Grey Warden has The Black Hawk in a lock and is going to *SLAM!* My god, what an absolute shutdown from The Grey Warden. He is pinning The Black Hawk and it looks like this is going to be another one for the losing streak.
That's the bell! And so yet again another MinorMania event comes to a close with yet another one for The Grey Warden's win-streak. This has been Mike and Chuck, we will see you next update here on NationState Wrestling Federation and wish you all a good night.

Wardens present during the MinorMania XXIV:
High Constable Kingdom of Circle of Magi
Warden-Commander Haku
Warden lieutenant Moonfungus
Warden Merni

Other faces present during the MinorMania XXIV
[NPA] Westinor
[RRA] Frattastan
+TITO

Sir Merlin's main nation
The First Warden of The Order of The Grey Wardens
The Chapter Master of Angels Encarmine
The oldest son of Kyo, the king of The Rejected Realms
