If you want a scapegoat you could just blame it on update suddenly running 20 minutes fast :p

But nice job all around. Speedy crew putting in work once again. And Syg, 'twas fun indeed. I look forward to the de-rusting.

I knew that you got 2 hits and we didn't get 6!...wardens be doubting my record keeping skills all night, but they were totally on point. Tim will be getting it like this nation says.

Perhaps, I should take my services elsewhere :)

I have conclusively concluded beginning at that conclusion that began conclusively at the beginning that this conclusion will begin before beginning its conclusion.

Inside Weisshaupt Fortress

Image

"The general who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand." - Sun Tzu - wow. such quote. so inspiration.

(excessively upbeat college tour guide intro)
Hello friends, and welcome to Weisshaupt Fortress! My name’s Witchcraft and Sorcery, and I’ll be your tour guide today. A little bit about me for those who don’t know me - I’ve been playing NS for a little over 4 years, defended for the last 3, and generally been lurking in the shadows hunting darkspawn until I joined the Order last month.

I’m here today to introduce myself formally and also show you some of the things most don’t get to see. Here at Weisshaupt Fortress we do much more than just show up at updates and defend. Sometimes the work outside of update is even more. Many of you may have heard of the Round Table or the Commanders’ Chamber, but we also have many other offices that are equally important to keeping the Wardens running. So here it is, a behind-the-scenes look into these various offices in Weisshaupt Fortress and what they do (and, while we're at it, some pretty cool changes!)

The first thing you’ll notice here is the Office of the High Constable. It’s led by, as the name implies, High Constable Deadeye Jack. He’s in charge of our PR and carefully grooming our public image so that… *ahem* Anyways. Embassies from various other places are also here to keep Wardens up to date on their affairs. The meeting room has a full bar, complete with the best selection of ale anywhere, for diplomats and Wardens to meet and chat, mostly casually but occasionally in a more official capacity. Jack makes sure to provide extra drinks for those occasions. :p

Now, if you look over to your right, you’ll see a staircase. We won’t be going down there right now as I heard something this morning and we’ve shut Vinny inside until the noise calms down. God knows what he’s really been up to, but I digress. It leads down to the Hall of Records. That’s where our Chamberlain Vincent Drake likes to hide himself when not making 8th dinner or whacking me with a laggy fish. You could call him our senior archivist. All of our battles get recorded there, meticulously stored in some pretty amazing scrolls. There’s also a file on every Warden, past and present, that documents their achievements and records their involvement.

And next up over here is the Office of Culture. This is office where we plan how not to get bored. After all, we still exist outside of update and we need things to do for the other parts of the day when we’re not defending. Spam games, memes, voice chats (the best voice chats, no one does voice chats better than me, believe me), and even *gasp* other games! I know! Heresy, right? It’s so fun! Formerly led by our poor overworked Chamberlain, starting today I am proud to announce that me, myself and I, that’s right, your very own Witchcraft and Sorcery will take over as Chief of Culture! Thank you very much, thank you, you’re too kind.

Next over here we have the Office of Regional Engagement. That deals with the region around Weisshaupt Fortress, and it’s where all of our recruitment, training, and civilian outreach programs are based out of. Of course it makes sense to have the officer that most resembles a drill sergeant (well, mostly just in terms of volume) in charge of training new recruits, so our Chief of Domestic Outreach continues to be Warden-Commander Tim Stark.

If you look outside here, you’ll see that we’ve got some construction going on! We’re excited to announce a couple of new offices today. The Office of Native Outreach is a new office with the goal of working closer with natives to help keep vulnerable regions secure, to prevent invasions before they happen, to provide assistance during invasions, and help with restoration and security efforts after invasions. Right now it’s still being built by its first chief, Senior Warden-Constable Lenlyvit, who brings considerable experience and a really messed-up sleep schedule into the job with his work in Solidarity. (Seriously, go the f*** to sleep, Lenly)

Lastly, over there you’ll see a mess of screens going up. The Office of Technology is also a new office, its chief being First Warden Roavin. In addition to… whatever he manages to do while sleeping through major and working, Roavin is now officially in charge of testing all of our technical tools and resources to make sure they’re legal and acceptable for Warden use. Occasionally there will also be tools developed through this office.

Well, that’s it for the tour! We’ve got one more announcement, courtesy of our fabulous commanders:

Effective today, the old Warden-Constable position will be renamed to Warden-Lieutenant; furthermore, we are introducing a new rank with the old name Warden-Constable, placed between Warden-Lieutenants and Warden-Commanders. The new Warden-Constables shall be field commanders leading the troops into battle, and assist with planning and execution of larger operations.

With that, we've got a few promotions to announce as well:
Warden Blight-Bane is now Warden-Lieutenant Blight-Bane
Warden-Lieutenant Lenlyvit is now Warden-Constable Lenlyvit (not a change of title due to the rename, but still a promotion in terms of rank)
Warden Nakari is now Warden-Constable Nakari
Warden Witchcraft & Sorcery is now Warden-Constable Witchcraft & Sorcery
Brunhilde is First Warden confirmed?

That’s about all the time I have! Thank you all for coming and I’m glad I could show you around. I’ve had a great time here with the Wardens and I hope that you will as well, should you choose to join. (you should ;) ) Anyway, I have to go get a burrito and inevitably miss update, but this has been fun! I’ll see you all around!

-W&S
