It's the name that won. Other options included just 'Constitution IV' and 'The Instrument of Government', but that's the suggestion that won.
Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.

The Thing to Remember About NationStates is that it is an almost entirely social game - fundamentally, you have no power beyond your own ability to convince people to go along with your ideas. In that sense, even the most dictatorial region is fundamentally democratic.

Don't take this typo for granite, even if sometimes it's gneiss to pick on people.

I just wanted it recorded for posterity. Additionally, as a point of order, if the Constitution was actually voted on and passed as "The Statues of Nobleslaw" then Cerian has no right to edit it. The Council of Nobles alone has the power to amend the Statues of Nobleslaw.

Hmm. We're not sure though that Cerian didn't make the typo himself, so it may not be as set in stone as it would seem.

No, it wasn't passed as the Statues, as you can see in the pinned dispatch on the WFE.

Koussathian views and my views are not nessesarily the same thing. I play Koussath as a rather evil country in many ways. I am not evil. Unless stated in an OOC manner, do not assume the player behind Koussath thinks what Koussath thinks.

Even if it was passed with a spelling mistake, allowing yourself to get tied up in legalism over a minor edit is just silly. :P

It gives the Council something to do once we get past the standing orders, criminal code and other big acts

The election results are in, and Kantrias now has elected its Council of Nobles and Lord Chancellor.

Serving in the Council will be Caldemar Leutria (21 votes), of the centrist Insanity Party, Teach (16 Votes), of the liberal/populist Party Against Monarchy, Alphaeus (16 Votes), of the conservative/Constitutional Royalist Delphinium Coalition, and Pysrilexot (14 votes), who ran under no official party, but generally ran on a pro-Monarchy platform. 89 Votes were cast, with each Noble being allowed to cast up to four votes.

The Lord Chancellor is Christopher Bishop, who ran under no party. He beat the Insanity Party's Gibraltica by a vote of 12-11.

A more detailed update covering the entire election will be forthcoming.

He didn't found it. The Insanity Party is a Kantrian Institution, going back all the way to the first election during late october/early november 2012. Their obsession with poptart cats, rainbows and combating the Jello Menace is one of the things that helped make Kantrias, Kantrias.
