The Empire Enacts TOGA for Territorial Governance
By: Arran Quilor (Terra Inferiori Reliquere)
In a landmark moment for the Empire of Kantrias, the Kylian Assembly and the Delphinium Court have unanimously voted in favour of the Territorial Organization and Governance Act (TOGA), passing it into law. This sweeping legislation, initiated by the Emperor when he issued Imperial Proclamation V last autumn, introduces a comprehensive framework for the governance and administration of the Empire’s territories.
TOGA aims to supplement Article V of the Imperial Constitution by providing additional definitions and comprehensive guidelines on how the Empire’s diverse territories are to be administered.
The TOGA drafting process was a collaborative effort, with Imperial Citizens actively participating in the creation of a preliminary draft. This document, officially titled the “Territorial Organization and Governance Act”, quickly became known by its acronym, TOGA. The draft was then presented to the Kylian Assembly—one of the Empire’s two legislative bodies—where it underwent rigorous debate and scrutiny by Imperial Citizens. Notably, the debate surrounding TOGA saw active involvement from native Estellians, who were not only encouraged to participate in the deliberations but also played a pivotal role in shaping the legislation.
TOGA passed through the Kylian Assembly with resounding support, marking a significant consensus among Imperial Citizens, including those from the native Estellian population. The approval demonstrated a unified commitment to the proposed regulations and principles outlined in the Act.
Following the Kylian Assembly’s approval, the Delphinium Court—the Empire’s legislative body and highest court—meticulously reviewed and debated specific articles and clauses of TOGA. It ensured that the legislation met the highest standards of legal and constitutional integrity and ultimately, voted unanimously in favour of TOGA.
With the Emperor’s formal assent, TOGA now stands as law, setting the stage and structure for the administration of territories within the Empire. The Act introduces clear definitions, regulations, and governance principles that will guide the Empire’s territories in their autonomy, relationships with the central government, and interactions with other territories.
TOGA is anticipated to streamline governance, enhance collaboration between territories, and provide a robust framework for the future development and expansion of the Empire. As the legislation takes effect, the Empire looks forward to a new chapter of unified and effective territorial administration.
Viceroyalty Unveiled: Giant Leap for the Empire
By: Sir Valfor Talleyrand (Valfor)
Last autumn, Emperor Arran Drake “Skar” Quilor (Terra Inferiori Reliquere) proclaimed that Arda en’ Estel was subsumed into the Empire of Kantrias and directed the Delphinium Court to draft and debate the necessary infrastructure to successfully manage the Empire’s territories as defined in the Imperial Constitution.
On the 5th of February, 2024, the Emperor reaffirmed - through Imperial Proclamation X - that he has organised Arda en Estel as a Colony. In accordance with TOGA—the Territorial Organization and Governance Act—the Emperor appointed Emerstari Cerné ([nation]Emerstari[/region]) as Viceroy of Arda en Estel, who may now exercise the rights, duties and responsibilities afforded to the appointment. In the same proclamation, the Emperor also recognized that, as per Article VI-B of TOGA, Orlais’ has been organised as a Crown Territory. Crown Territories may also have an appointed leader, but the Emperor has yet to name one for Orlais, as is his prerogative.
Since the passage of TOGA, this is the first Viceroyalty announced by the Emperor and marks a giant leap forward for Kantrias and the Empire. With TOGA, the Empire now has the framework in place to continue and maintain its expansion.
Join us in congratulating Viceroy Cerné (Emerstari) as the first Viceroy of Arda en Estel!

On 'Commending: Caldemar Leutria Quilor'
By: Soci, Esquiress (The BFF Society)
In a historic session marked by unprecedented unity on the 8th of February 2024, the Kylian Assembly of the Empire of Kantrias has shattered previous records by unanimously passing a resolution to commend Caldemar Leutria Quilor, affectionately known as Cal among the Imperial Citizens, and more commonly known as Leutria, for his outstanding contribution to the region. With a resounding - and record breaking - tally of 27 votes in favour, the Kylian Assembly stood as one in recognition of Cal’s remarkable legacy.
The resolution, designated as “Commend: Caldemar Leutria Quilor”, was propelled by the overwhelming support from the Kylian Assembly. It lauds Cal’s career-long dedication to nurturing legislative talent, fostering a culture of recognition within the Kantrian community, and providing steadfast leadership during times of turbulence and populism.
Notably, the Emperor, breaking his own long standing precedent of impartiality, exercised his constitutional right to cast a vote on the resolution, shocking many Imperial Citizens. This departure from tradition underscores the exceptional significance of Cal’s contributions, as acknowledged by the highest echelons of Kantrian governance.
On the foundation of Cal’s nine-year tenure as Kantrias’ head of state, the resolution highlights his instrumental role in steering the region towards becoming the Empire it is today. His unwavering commitment to Kantrias’ cultural and professional development, coupled with his extensive experience spanning various governmental positions, has left an indelible mark on the region’s history.
With unanimous support from the Kylian Assembly, the resolution advanced to the Delphinium Court, where it was passed unanimously just as easily. This collective expression of esteem from both the Kylian Assembly, the Delphinium Court and the Emperor’s assent, serves as a testament to Cal’s enduring impact and legacy within the Empire of Kantrias.

Important Announcement from the Kylian Assembly's Custodial Staff
By: A.R. Stotskiano, Esquire (A R Stotskiano)
Note: This is a joke article.
The recent occurrences within the Kylian Assembly during voting sessions have prompted an urgent call from the Kylian Assembly’s Custodial Staff to Imperial Citizens. The Custodial Staff appeals for an end to the wanton destruction of Assembly property, emphasising the importance of the infrastructure to the Assembly’s functioning. Instances such as doors being blown off their hinges, skylights shattered by Imperial Citizens dropping into the Assembly to vote, burst water pipes, sudden invasive species of wrecking ball and even doors literally being blown out their frames have raised serious concerns about the safety and integrity of the Assembly’s premises.
All of the ‘redecoration endeavours’ has left the Overseer of the Kylian Assembly’s budget for daily milk baths perilously low. Let us ensure the Assembly’s integrity stays intact while keeping the Overseer’s skincare routine afloat.

Treaty of Belfast
Following the invasion of Ulster through a joint operation conducted by the People's Revolutionary Air Force and the Army of the Empire of Kantrias, the previous government has been expelled with no hope for return. With command of this historic region name secured by all concerned parties, it is imperative that the rehabilitation of this territory is conducted properly and under due supervision.
So that Ulster may be reborn and duly integrated as a respectable and participating member of the interregional community, we representatives from the Revolutionary Republic of the Communist Bloc and the Empire of Kantrias hereby ratify this Treaty, signed in Belfast, as the first step towards the prosperity of Ulster, free from enemy occupation.
Article I - The Military Administration of UlsterArticle II - Accession to Protectorate Status

Fort Connolly is not entitled to intervene in Ulster under any other circumstance unless the security and integrity of Ulster as a region is under imminent threat.
- Fort Connolly shall be administered by the Commissar-in-Chief, who may be appointed at the discretion of the People's Revolutionary Air Force. The Governor-General is bound by the Treaty of Belfast in their actions.
- Whereas six months have passed since the ratification of this Treaty, the Imperial government of Kantrias may initiate discussion about the disestablishment of Fort Connolly, and the dismissal of the Governor-General. If these discussions prove successful, Article I shall be considered, in its entirety, null and void, given the consent of both The Communist Bloc and Kantrias; the rest of the Treaty of Belfast still stands.
Article III - Terms of Accession
- By law and practice, Ulster will be admitted to the Empire of Kantrias as a Crown Territory.
- Kantrias may raise and/or or lower the status of Ulster as they see fit.
- Governance of Ulster is the sole preserve of Kantrias within the terms of the Treaty of Belfast, and may be governed as determined by its laws and customs. The sovereignty of Kantrias is extended in whole over Ulster.

Pact of Flame and SteelThe Great Hoards of Lair of the Dragon⠀⠀⠀The Empire of Kantrias
⠀
Preamble
A knight in steel armor rushes into battle alongside his brothers and sisters-in-arms against the vile land of Ardenia. Metal clashes upon metal as the armed forces of Ardenia launch their desperate defense, their archers aiming upon the dragons that fill the crimson sky. Amidst the chaos the knight gets separated from his unit, the Ardenian soldiers swarming around him like pests.
Before he can take action a blur of golden scales rushes past. Four of the soldiers scream as they get crushed beneath the dragon’s sharpened claws. The dragon's gaze meets the knight yet no words need to be spoken. With ease the two eliminate the Ardenian forces that had endangered his life. “Dragon, lend me your strength! We must breach the city walls.” He shouts to the dragon with all his might, hoping he can gain its attention once more. “I shall lend you my wings, knight, together we shall put an end to these atrocious beasts!”
The two take to the skies, and with their alliance the first pair of dragonriders is born.

- Kantrias recognizes only The Great Hoards, and any successor government as dictated by The Great Hoards as the sole legitimate government of The Lair.
- None of the Pact Holders may cede sovereign control of their region to another entity.
- Should either of the Pact Holders merge into, cede their decision-making to, or otherwise surrender their sovereignty to a third party, this Pact will be struck null and void.
Article II - Military Cooperation
- When resources allow, the Pact Holders shall strive to work together on military adventures;
- The Lair shall support the imperial claims of Kantrias, and Kantrias shall support The Lair's seizing of treasure.
- The Pact Holders shall provide opportunities for each other's military to participate in military engagements.

Opening Statement
Just what is this Foreign Affairs Update about?!
Today, the 5th of September 2024, marks exactly one year since Kantrias transformed into the Empire, the Empire you have come to know.
In this special edition, "One Year of Kantrian Exceptionalism", we invite you to delve into the promised made by the Emperor, the significant milestones achieved, and the challenges overcome. Explore personal stories and testimonials from Kantrians about what it is like to be a Kantrian, gain insights into our strategic maneuvers, domestic and international policies, and the broader implications of our ascent.
State of the Empire
A Statement from the Emperor
My loyal Imperial Citizens, Residents of Cibola, Arda en Estel, Ulster, and Orlais, esteemed members of the Imperial Legislature, the Imperial Government, as well as treaty allies, friends and foreign readers, I am proud to say; we are here, and we are here to stay.
On the 5th of September, 2023, the day that my father, Caldemar Leutria Quilor, son of Kylia Quilor, abdicated the throne in favour of me, I spoke about how we would transition into a new age, an age in which we must remain steadfast in our defiance of those who would set us against one another, and made a promise to everyone — not just Kantrians — that I would lead the Empire with unwavering resolve and a decisive hand, that I would do so with the Imperialist ideology at the very core of our motivations and that we would march forward, enhance our greatness and security, and safeguard our history. I spoke of my unyielding dedication, and how with that dedication I would ensure that the legacy of Kantrias endures as a beacon of strength, unity, and unassailable sovereignty for generations to come.
In the year since I made that promise, we have proven that we can deliver. First of all, the Army of the Empire of Kantrias assisted in at least eleven major military operations, and successfully led two major invasions; Operation: Frog Ponds and Operation: Cinder. We invaded The Crown Protectorate of Hong Kong, just to show that we could, and invaded Ardenia to purge it of its fascist, bigoted population. Our allies and friends eagerly assisted us during both invasions. Out of those thirteen major operations, the Army of the Empire of Kantrias recorded the most pilers in four of thirteen, that is just over 30%.
Besides our military accomplishments and martial prowess, we signed a monumental treaty with the Brotherhood of Malice; The Eleventh Year Accords, in which Kantrias defined Imperialism, and described how Imperialism and Raiderdom have plentiful common ground. We signed an introductory treaty with The Communist Bloc; the Treaty of Belfast, in which control over Ulster was ceded to the Empire and which acts as a preview of future relations with the Bloc. We signed the Pact of the Sword and Spear with Astoria, hoping to one day extend the Pact into a more comprehensive one. The Pact of Flame and Steel with the Lair of the Dragon was signed as well, signifying increased relations between us and the Lair.
When it comes to legislation, I can proudly say that I could not be more proud of the Imperial Legislature and what they have collectively gotten done over the last year. At least nineteen proposals passed through the Imperial Legislature — consisting of both the Kylian Assembly and the Delphinium Court — and received my Assent. The Imperial Legislature passed major and foundational legislation concerning the Empire’s governance of territories, the Empire’s judicial system, as well as acts on the recognition of authorship and legislative efforts, and matters concerning the World Assembly and how that works within the context of the Empire. As it stands, there is a healthy queue of high-quality proposals waiting to be debated at all times.
I have issued twenty-one Imperial Proclamations. Notable amongst those twenty-one are Imperial Proclamation V - Arda en Estel Subsumed, Imperial Proclamation XVI - Ulster Subsumed, Imperial Proclamation XIX - Cibola Subsumed, as well as two Imperial Proclamations on Territorial Classifications and Appointments. The first three Imperial Proclamations served to subsume those regions into the Empire, and the latter two served to classify the territories in accordance with Imperial Law, and appoint Viceroys. Numerous Imperial Proclamations in which I award Imperial Citizens with honours and peerages have also been published, and I can not stress enough how proud I am of those who have put so much effort into the Empire, and how grateful I am for that effort.
I personally foresee a bright future for the Empire’s territorial acquisitions and further aspirations; over the last year we have expanded the Empire to contain three territories of varying classifications, one of which is a historical friend of Kantrias. Our newest territory, a colony called Cibola, is certainly worthy of being mentioned. It is headed by its Viceroy, who has been actively developing the colony into something with potential. It is remarkable how Kantrias projects its power and cultural superiority far beyond itself by having territories separate from the capital region. I have found that even outside of the Empire, there are those who discuss our policies, our treaties, and our ideology. It is the destiny of lesser regions to be brought into the fold of Kantrian glory.
I can say that with the legislative, martial and judicial talent currently being cultivated — and already present — in the Empire, I foresee a bright future for Kantrias, and the Empire as a whole. Sure, we have had our challenges, ranging from positions left unfilled to the dreaded ‘summer slump’ taking its toll… but I can confidently say that with the current generation of Kantrians — Imperial and Territorial, the fact Kantrians from previous generations are returning and the mere tip of the iceberg that is the incoming generation rearing its head, that we have nothing to worry about if we keep going, the way we are going.
Going forward, I personally intend to continue to deliver on my promises; to remain steadfast in our defiance of defenders and those false independents and supposed imperialists who have bound themselves to the defender ideology. We will not waver in our resistance against their attempts to influence our strategic interests, and reject their moral superiority. Our commitment to Imperialism — a vision of primacy in power and a belief in the superiority of our culture, policy, and governance — remains unshakable. We will continue to march forward with confidence and the same unwavering resolve that has carried us through every challenge thus far. The successes of the past year, from our military operations and territorial expansions to our legislative achievements and treaties, are just the beginning. We will prove, once and for all, that the Empire of Kantrias is not merely a fleeting moment in history, but eternal and destined to shape the world according to our vision.

The Emperor of the Empire of Kantrias
A Word from the Privy Councillor of Foreign Affairs
The Privy Councillor's Piece
Citizens of Kantrias, Residents of Kantrias and her colonies, Visitors from across NS, and anyone else who has the pleasure of reading this address,
I want you all to think back to 4 years ago. Imagine telling yourself the things you are doing now. Would you believe yourself? Frankly, I wouldn’t. If you told me 4 years ago where I am today, I’d laugh or I’d tell you that you’re crazy. I’d also probably tell you to kick rocks. But it’s true. I could never imagine anything about my career in NS, but hey, life is full of twists and turns.
When Astoria tragically fell, I felt disheartened and disillusioned. I thought about leaving or downsizing my roles in NS completely, but the Emperor had other plans. He encouraged me to work with him in matters of Foreign Affairs. And if someone is willing to go out on a limb for me, then I will repay it in turn.
Foreign Affairs for Kantrias is currently undergoing some remodeling. I’ve been working on making sure all of our relations have an assigned person. We finished negotiating a treaty, and released two finished ones. We have new territories for the glory of the empire.
But our work isn’t just treaties. It is our duty to show everyone the glory of the empire. My focus for the next few months will be showcasing this. Kantrias’s 12th birthday is coming up and that will be an excellent opportunity to do exactly that. I hope that you all will come and participate in the event and see the bets that Kantrias has to offer.
and as always, Live, Laugh, Love and Bau Bau the Empire.
Signed,
Shadow Helix-Caelorum
Privy Councillor of Foreign Affairs for the Empire of Kantrias

Personal Stories and Testimonials from Kantrians
Some of our Imperial Citizens were eager to share some personal stories and testimonials about their time in Kantrias. We hope that reading them gives you, as the reader, an impression of the going-ons in Kantrias and the Empire as a whole.
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“The Empire is perhaps one of the best, funnest, and most welcoming communities I have participated in. The Empire provided me with a home after Astoria fell, and has provided several outlets for creativity, participating in the legislature, and way, way more. The impact the Empire has had on my tenure on this site has been immeasurable, and I appreciate it immensely, Kantrias forever and always.” - Sir Tarin A. Helix-Caelorum
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“My time in Kantrias has been one of the best and most welcoming in all of my playthroughs in any nation simulator. I’d tried for months to get into NationStates somehow but couldn’t. I applied to Kantrias and seriously thought that I’d just fall behind on my nation again and it would be another failed attempt at joining NationStates. However, once my application was accepted I saw the bustling community that was Kantrias. Complete with legislation, regular on-topic and off-topic conversations (which provide good entertainment sometimes), and then the roleplay. The army has probably been my favorite part. I’ve participated in several operations on behalf of Kantrias and while they may get chaotic at times, it is certainly a good type of chaotic and one I look forward to in operations.” - Lucius Valeria
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“It's quite nice for me in Kantrias, with an active and accepting community (it also being very fun to participate in when I feel like chatting, I am a professional lurker so that is rare lol). The legislation is also nice, probably, for those who like legislating- not including me, I have long retired from doing any legislating because I have better things to do, that being invading regions, so, uh, yeah, I like Kantrias, it is nice.” - Aster Helix-Caelorum
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“How I feel about Kantrias? Well, I would say that my only regret is not joining the Discord the moment I discovered Kantrias on NationStates. But I must say that I pretty much like it here, there are a lot of friendly people! I am not sure if I'd consider Kantrias a 'family' (just yet), but... a big group of friends? For sure! The Empire itself, it feels alive to me with a lot of activity, even if I sometimes struggle to follow along with what is happening.” - Red One
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“I’ve always enjoyed chatting with the people of Kantrias, but I wasn’t a citizen until recently due to some complications. I didn’t realize how much I had been missing! There’s a whole depth of legal scholarship within the Empire, as well as a powerful Army and jobs for Imperial Citizens to partake in. Combine that with the benefits that even Visitors to the Empire gets and the friendliest environment I’ve encountered in NationStates in a long time, I highly recommend Kantrias to any NationStates newcomers as well as veterans looking to expand their game-playing reach. - Diana Lyra Astrin Nightrender
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“Kantrias has been my home for almost 12 years. Each era has brought it’s ups and downs, but the Empire era, with Arran Drake Quilor, as Kantrias’ Emperor, has brought so much more. We have seen so many things being added. The colonies, for one, has peaked my interest, the most. However, I’m not sure where it will lead, as it is in the early stages, I feel that Arran guiding them with their Colony leaders, will show nothing but promise.
The functioning of the Empire was confusing to me at first, but I’ve learned the growth, the strength, and the strangest of bits within it. It has not ceased to amaze me on how Kantrias, my home for so long, still keeps me on my toes. My fellow Citizens, always help me with understanding new things, even things I forget. Hopefully as time goes on, things will be even greater, but I love being part of Kantrias’ story. Helping it shape it’s new Era alongside Arran, the Citizens, and future untolds.
Kantrias will always have my heart and soul. Being a Kantrian, to me, is a special gift. I always look forward to interacting with everyone every single day. They are my Family, they are my Friends. But most Importantly, they are a Kantrian.” - Sara Lucky Leutria Zobieski Quilor, Baroness Soni
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“Kantrias was the first region I joined when I started playing NationStates just over 6 months ago, it was by far the greatest decision I made, Kantrias welcomed me with open arms and helped me, helps me, better understand how NationStates works, the Emperor and his government have supported me at every point, whether it was drafting the Imperial Holidays Act, now in the law book, assisting me to learn how to raid for the glorious Empire, teaching me how to represent Kantrias abroad through the Ambassador Corps, and being there to help and comfort when real-life gets tough.
The great, glorious and almighty Emperor is undoubtedly someone no player of NationStates should aspire to be, his hard work and dedication are so dedicated and immense that no mere mortal could achieve. His patience and negotiation are beyond admirable I am honoured to serve him as the Overseer of the Kylian Assembly, and honoured to have been welcomed to Kantrias by such an incredible man!” - Dame Soci, Overseer of the Kylian Assembly
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“For as long as I’ve been part of the Empire, it has stood the test of time. Under the Emperor’s rule, I can confidently say Kantrias embodies what community and unity should be - a union built on years of hard work, yet still unified under the banner of Imperialism and Kantrian Exceptionalism. The Empire exemplifies what it means to be part of something greater. Kantrias has never failed to impress in everything it does, not just in its ability to be a community, but it’s dedications to the core values that it has protected for over a decade.” - Rosartemis
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“I came to find Kantrias around the same time I did Astoria. I had heard of the Emperor of Kantrias before but never really got to interact with him. From the near start, the people of Kantrias made me feel welcomed. Soon after, I was even finding myself participating more in Kantrias. First a member of the Army of the Empire of Kantrias, and then working in the Kylian Assembly, and now more recently, being the Privy Councillor of Foreign Affairs. After the unfortunate events of Astoria, the Emperor listened to me go through the grief of it. That struck a chord with me, and I feel honoured to be doing what I can in Kantrias to repay that kindness.” - Shadow Helix-Caelorum, Baron Angelis
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“When I first started playing NationStates, I was never really engaged. The game just never resonated with me. That is, until I founded one new nation. My last attempt, I told myself. I remember that first day, trying to see if I could get into the game this time. I remember reading the recruitment telegrams sent to me, and the one in particular sent by the nation Leutria, advertising for the region Kantrias. As I read it, I figured that it might be a nice investment, and that it sounded like a nice place to spend my last attempt at the game. It soon became so much more. It has been an amazing experience, from playing games to, more recently, becoming more active in legislation. From having unhinged DM exchanges with Skar, to doing the Kantrian Great Pyramid Heist. The people, the events, it all has just meant so much to me. It's still incredible to me, how, after joining a region to spend my last attempt at NS, in just a few months I was planning a Colony, Cibola, with Skar. It has been an incredible time, and the only regret I have is that I didn't join sooner.” - Ivan von Bismarck, Esquire and Viceroy of Cibola
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
“Kantrias has a long and storied history and has seen many eras pass. Currently we are in a wonderful era where there is a sense of community, a drive to shape the region and contribute, and some pretty good leadership. Skar, I have watched you take that responsibility of leadership and proceed to jump in head first driving Kantrias into this new era and I'm very proud of you! It's hard to believe it's already been a year and you have accomplished so much. You've become a good friend and Kantrias has become one of my dearest homes. I am really glad to be a part of it.” - Aynia Moreaux, Viscountess Emery
A Personal Story / Testimonial from a Kantrian:
I quite enjoy being in Kantrias, it’s quite a fun region. I like the people there, there’s lots of activities to do and you can have a good mix of silliness and seriousness in Kantrias, you can meet lots of cool people, write legislation, spread the empire’s name in the AEK, have jobs in the departments or even just have conversations in the convo channels. I find it quite nice and have fun. - A. R. Stotskiano
The "Treaty of Belfast" signed between Kantrias and The Communist Bloc!
Onwards to a New Era of Imperial Benevolence!
On the 27th of July 2023, the Royal Kantrian Army (RKA) — the predecessor of the current Army of the Empire of Kantrias (AEK) — joined forces with the People’s Revolutionary Air Force of The Communist Bloc to initiate a bold and decisive invasion of Ulster. By the 8th of August 2023, our combined forces had successfully occupied Ulster, marking the end of its previous government with no possibility of return. Following our decisive victory in August of 2023, negotiations on an introductory treaty between the Empire of Kantrias and The Communist Bloc commenced, culminating in the ratification of the "Treaty of Belfast" by Kantrias in the next year.
Ulster has been integrated into the Empire of Kantrias as a Crown Territory, marking its transition into a Territory under our morally superior Imperialist ideology. This status grants Kantrias the flexibility to elevate or otherwise modify Ulster’s territorial classification as deemed appropriate. The extension of Kantrian sovereign control over Ulster will — in due time and when Ulster is deemed ready — ensure its rebirth as a respectable and thriving member of the interregional community, under the Imperialist umbrella.
The Treaty of Belfast stands as a powerful testament to the supremacy of Imperialism, exemplifying how the Empire of Kantrias extends its political, ideological and governance ideals across new territories. By integrating Ulster as a Crown Territory, the treaty achieves more than the simple act of subsumption; it also affirms the transformative impact of Imperialism, and its potential. This treaty demonstrates Kantrias’ commitment to elevating lesser regions under its enlightened rule.
"The Pact of Flame and Steel" signed between Kantrias and Lair of the Dragon!
Where Imperial Steel meets a Dragon's Flame!
Way back at the start of this year, on the 14th of February 2024, the Imperial Government officially opened treaty negotiations with Lair of the Dragon. The Imperial Legislature ratified "The Pact of Flame and Steel" on the 20th of May 2024.
The Empire of Kantrias and the Lair of the Dragon have worked together on many operations, and over time this working relationship has proven to be something worthy of expansion, especially seeing how keen Lair of the Dragon is on expanding its own reach, and how well that interacts with Kantrias’ own (ideological) goals. Since the ratification of The Pact of Flame and Steel, the Empire of Kantrias and the Lair of the Dragon have grown closer together, assisting each other when - often before it is officially - requested.
Arda en Estel Viceroy Appointed!
On the 3rd of September 2024, the Emperor appointed “Ammarah Al-Asteorra” as Viceroy of Arda en Estel, replacing the previous Viceroy; Viceroy Cerné. Ammarah spent a lot of time as Arch-Chancellor of Kantrias over the last year, and also functioned as Lady Marshal of the Army of the Empire of Kantrias. She approached the Imperial Government, asking to be put to work, and put to work she was; Imperial Proclamation XXI - Viceroy Appointment directed Ammarah - now Viceroy Al-Asteorra - to create and implement a Plan of Action, which is a broad growth-focussed plan, first created through the Territorial Organization and Governance Act, passed in 2023.
Given Viceroy Al-Asteorra’s experience in regional governments, we all look forward to seeing what she grows Arda en Estel into.
Cibola Viceroy Appointed!
On the 25th of July 2024, the Emperor appointed “Ivan von Bismarck” as Viceroy of Cibola, following a competition held in Kantrias, about who would be able to produce the best-written colony proposal. This competition served as an incubator, and Ivan’s Cibola plans were among the most promising. Cibola’s theme will be a mix of Wild Western, Mexican and Aztec themes and vibes, with its own Division within the Army of the Empire of Kantrias; the Cibola Regulators.
Ivan has shown the drive, and the energy necessary to lead such a promising colony, and we look forward to seeing where he brings it.
Ask Aynia Aynithing Issue #1
Welcome to the first issue of Ask Aynia Aynithing, the column where I answer your burning questions! We have quite a few questions to kick things off!
You asked: Is defenestration an acceptable response to heavily disagreeing with someone?
Aynia says: Yes.
You asked: How do you best spread the glory of the Emperor?
Aynia says: The best way in my opinion would be to run through the streets ringing a bell and shouting "GLORY TO THE EMPEROR!" That should get some attention and glory for sure! If you don't think that's enough, try wearing a silly costume while you run.
You asked: Hi Aynia, I've been wondering... there is this guard standing at their post near the Kylian Assembly... and I have been wanting to ask them out. How should I go ahead and do this?
Aynia says: I would say: "Hi guard standing at their post near the Kylian Assembly, I have noticed you. Would you like to grab a cuppa sometime?' Chances are they will say: "Hi person who notices me standing at my post near the Kylian Assembly, I would love to!" And viola, you are in love!
You asked: Should I run in the streets with a gavel and a sword hitting people with them?
Aynia says: At first I thought to myself, 'why not?', but then the thought hit me that running with a sword is dangerous! My advice is to stick to the gavel only. That way if you trip you won't stab yourself!
You asked: My hair eventually turns super frizzy no matter how much conditioner I use! What sort of treatment/product do you recommend for hair that gets super frizzy in the sun/heat?
Aynia says: As someone who also has hair that gets frizzy in humidity and heat to the point of looking like I should be saying "aliens.", I recommend a good hair oil!
