I don't mean to disparage Europeia in any way when saying this, so keep that in mind. It's just...Europeia's statement seems rather pointless. It's a statement who's primary point is "go read this other region's statement." I feel like I've been knocked unconscious and woke up in Nationstates 3 where the conducting of foreign affairs in gameplay involves something other than positioning of your region with or against other regions by way of public statements.

While their statement is perhaps heavy on restating what Balder said, HEM is correct that public statements on the forum is how we used to do things (and one that I, among I imagine others) wish we would use more often.

Without wanting to pass judgement either way on the content of Euro's statement or what it's responding to, Euro is basically saying "hey fam, we got you" to an ally and there's nothing wrong with that.

It's very weird to see certain TSPers coming along and going "hey Euro's statement is pointless why they'd do it" when what they're accusing Euro of doing is exactly what they got XKI to post during an incident in January/February. Very odd indeed.

(Europeia, April 10, 2021) - Recently, the Republic of Europeia hosted two celebrations back-to-back with The Communist Bloc (TCB), and The Land of Kings and Emperors (LKE). Both celebrations highlighted the strong relationships and unity between Europeia and their allies. The celebrations included weekend long festivities on a shared Discord server including games such as Jackbox, Among Us, and Skribbl.

Earlier in March, Calvin Coolidge presented the Treaty of Spomenik between TCB and Europeia to the Europeian Senate for ratification. Previously, the two regions had a non-aggression pact based on a storied shared history of friendship and cooperation.

"Our shared values as communities, as well as our ability to work together on interregional efforts in the past has made them an attractive partner," explained President Calvin Coolidge on the rationale for pursuing a full treaty. "I look forward to continued cooperation and friendship under this agreement."

The treaty was passed unanimously by the Europeian Senate, and quickly ratified by the People's Assembly from The Communist Bloc as well.

In addition to celebrating a new treaty, Europeia also celebrated a long-standing relationship. This past week marked the ten year anniversary of a shared gameplay embassy and full treaty. In addition to the revels, Europeia also hosted a radio show discussing the alliance between the two regions. Panelists included the founder of Europeia, HEM, Grand Admiral Peeps, and the current Lord Chancellor of the LKE, John Spencer-Talleyrand.

Europeia is grateful for the opportunity to host and commemorate these events with our friends and allies, both old and new, and look forward to further developing relationships between all of our partners.

President Kazaman Elected in Close First Round Race

(Europeia, May 04, 2021) - The citizens of Europeia elected Kazaman and UPC to the offices of President and Vice President, respectively, in the first round of the presidential election held on April 30. Some of their mentioned goals were reviews of new player resources to be sure of their helpfulness, greater gameside presence of cultural and other major events, and the promotion of Independence in a greater scale.

The polls featured three tickets, namely Istillian/Darkslayer (featuring the then-incumbent Vice President Istillian), Lime/Monkey, and the winning ticket Kazaman/UPC. They received 28.6%, 20.6%, and 50.8% of all votes respectively, barely avoiding a runoff. There were 63 votes in total.

Kazaman thanked the voters in a statement, noting that "it was definitely a race well run," and further saying that they were "grateful to the other tickets for that experience." They then proceeded to announce cabinet nominations on the same day.

The individuals initially nominated were Klatonia for Minister of Communications, Monkey for Minister of Culture, Common-Sense Politics for Minister of Foreign Affairs, GrandfatherClock for Minister of Interior, Malashaan for Attorney General, Istillian for Grand Admiral, SkyGreen24 for Minister of Radio and Whatermelons for Minister of World Assembly Affairs. Furthermore, Le Libertie was nominated for the new position of Gameside Coordinator.

However, some nominees were later withdrawn for various reasons, and three ministerial positions then received new nominations: Lime for Minister of Communications, Peeps for Minister of Foreign Affairs and Pland Adanna for Minister of World Assembly Affairs.

The election happened amid referenda that sought to remove all incumbent Senators from office, resulting in the resignation of Senator Common-Sense Politics and the removal of Senator GraVandius after the votes on the referenda. The other Senators kept their positions. Standing is now open for two By-Elections while the remaining Senators discuss and vote on the aforementioned cabinet nominees, of which GrandfatherClock, Istillian, Le Libertie, Malashaan, and Monkey have already been unanimously confirmed.

(Europeia, May 15, 2021) - Europeia and the Pacific have ratified a Pact of Non-Aggression, cementing a relationship between the two regions built on shared anti-fascist activities and strengthening interregional communities. This diplomatic pact, the first peaceful, coequal treaty The Pacific has entered in with a user-created region since 2012, marks a shift in the relationship of the two regions that promises many benefits for both in the future.

"There is obviously historic weight to this agreement, given our past war with The Pacific," Europeian President Kazaman declared. "It is my hope that this presents a step toward firm reconciliation and peace between our regions."

In an unprecedented speech to the Europeian Senate, Emperor East Durthang of the Pacific recollected that the relationship between the two regions "[...] has not always been one of hugs, puppies, and glitter [...]" Despite this, Emperor East Durthang expressed high hopes for a continued and enriched relationship with Europeia, pointing to the region's ability "[...] to not be governed by grudges over past grievances and nostalgia in the face of genuine reform."

President Kazaman responded in kind, concluding that not only the process involved in crafting the pact but also the subsequent ratification "[...] demonstrates your region's resolve to leave Francoism and its divisive rhetoric in the past." The Emperor had attested such sentiments previously in his own speech, stating that "Europeia’s professionalism and skill have greatly impressed our members and leadership over the last months, which is one reason why we were very open to a sign of formal cooperation."

The Europeian Senate unanimously ratified the Pact of Non-Aggression between The Pacific and Europeia after President Kazaman presented it to the legislative body.

It's that time of year for Pride and for Europeia to host EuroPride once again! This third celebration is a tribute to the LGBTQ+ community who joins together everywhere around the world to celebrate victories and support each other. EuroPride is proud to provide a platform for the NationStates LGBTQ+ community in what it means to reflect back and how we need to progress forward.

Europeia will be hosting a one-week Pride celebration from June 4 to June 11. This will be an opportunity for members of the NationStates LGBTQ+ community and allies alike to come together and share stories, meet other members of the community, and enjoy games and fun activities. We have a full schedule of events ranging from LGBTQ+ radio shows, games, speeches, and much more!

This event will primarily be held on a Discord server for nations from all regions, with speeches and other presentations to be hosted on the Europeian forums. With a special shoutout to the Ministry of Culture for planning this event, we hope to see you all involved in the festivities and can't wait to see all the amazing contributions, stories, and experiences from the NationStates community!
