Those currently in positions of power in the East Pacific have shown themselves lacking both the benevolence that an autocracy requires, and the flexibility that a democracy requires.

A Statement on The East Pacific

As a region, Osiris has a long and torrid history with coups d'état. Therefore, we know the impact a coup has on a community. It is devastating. It causes gaping internal divisions. It pits friends against friends. And it does damage to the community that sometimes can take years to heal.

What is happening in The East Pacific at this very moment is a coup. Plain and simple.

We are not going to dance around the matter with fancy words and a light touch, we will call a spade a spade. Osiris did not remain silent when this outrageous power grab was in its infancy and we will not remain silent now. Especially when individuals at the center of this coup have a history of flagrant disregard for a GCR’s sovereignty.

We will not allow Fedele to butcher TEP for his own gain.

Osiris will be committing its resources to help liberate The East Pacific from Fedele’s tyranny and urge anyone who values the right of citizens to a stable region, to do the same.

In a perfect world, when regions make friends via a treaty, it is the hope of both that it will foster a long term relationship with mutual respect and lasting friendship. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world and occasionally such friendships must be re-evaluated.

It has come to the attention of Osiris that The Empire of Mare Nostrum has repeatedly mishandled OOC issues within their region. This includes nearly opening an embassy with another region well known for transphobia and forum destruction and only begrudgingly ceasing this when parties within the region protested extensively.

Furthermore, a member of the Osiris discord was banned for membership in a well known fascist region; when we learned they were also a citizen in the Empire of Mare Nostrum we reached out to them to inform them with the anticipation that they would take similar action. They took no action and declared that it wasn't their concern what anyone did outside of their region insofar as they behaved inside their region, a view very disheartening to us.

Further allegations of failings in OOC moderation were also brought to the Osiran Government's attention which we were able to verify after conversing with people who were involved in EMN’s government at the time and who had knowledge of the situation. Due to the private nature of these occurrences, we are not at liberty to disclose them all.

Osiris has a firm anti-fascist policy as well as firmly believing in the principle of proper OOC moderation and maintaining acceptable community standards. Unfortunately, these are two areas where EMN has been found lacking and we are unable to justify our present relationship with them at this time. Therefore it is with a heavy heart that today, the 21st Day of November 2019, Pharaoh Anabelle has made the decision to assent to the repeal of the Treaty of Selene.

We are disappointed that things have come to this and wish the Empire of Mare Nostrum all the best in its future.

On the Events Concerning TNP

The Osiran Government has recently been made aware of the attempt by the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators (CCD) to infiltrate, undermine and ultimately seize control of the North Pacific. Not only does such an action fly in the face of Osiris’ long held principle of GCR sovereignty but it also represents yet another attempt by CCD to undermine and attack regions that have the courage and moral fiber to stand against the reprehensible ideology of Fascism.

Although this attempt continues CCD’s long standing tradition of poorly planned and executed operations, the abysmal execution should not be allowed to distract from the malicious intent behind Operation 84. Osiris’ stands fully behind our good friends in The North Pacific and unequivocally condemn CCD’s actions.

On Osiris and the War with the NPO

Following several internal discussions and reaching out to key allies who would be affected by the decision, the citizens of Osiris have decided to end its declaration of war against the New Pacific Order.

While we are no longer at war, we still heartily maintain our commitment and membership to the APC and remain dedicated to rooting out the harmful ideology of Francoism wherever it may still reside.

On Lazarus and Ideology

We have learned of Lazarus’ new statement of radical neutrality. While we certainly respect their right to determine an ideology that fits with their community, we are appalled that they would so rudely and callously attempt to cut ties with many loyal allies. Unfortunately, this includes Osiris.

It is no secret that Osiris and Lazarus have enjoyed a long and fruitful friendship that has included shared citizens, festivals, and assistance when needed. Therefore, there is no joy in announcing that we will immediately begin the dissolution of our treaty followed quickly by a declaration of war.

This ideology of extreme neutrality is dangerous to the safety of Osiris and we will not tolerate it.

Our former friend Lazarus’ shift in ideology has brought to light some inconsistencies in our own. For many years now, we have staunchly remained the only Raider Game Created Region. However, times change and so must we. With Lazarus establishing its true identity, it is time for Osiris to do so as well. After much internal consideration and a great lobbying effort led by well-known defender Rachael, we are officially changing our military alignment to Defender.
