Oh jeez, I still remember Xor and Sev planning that one for weeks. Will admit I never quite saw the point of it, but it was kinda funny I suppose :P

It was about making a point. But that's a discussion for another time. ;)

You're right, it was about making a point, and the point was I purposefully let the main nation of LWU CTE for over a week before anyone attacked. Half the defenders in NS were like "it's a trap" and refused to attack (it was a trap) and the other half, from TITO, demonstrated that they were so clueless that it took Thomas notifying them to even realize what was going on.

But I digress, good luck Tom. You were one of the best players in this game, regardless of side.
It's ok! You can trust me! I've been Commended!

You're leaving some big shoes to fill, BT, but anyone who has a problem with you over their emptiness is a bum. Apply the tenacity you showed here in the real world and you'll go very far.

Well damn.

Thanks for everything, man. You were a hell of a friend when I needed one the most. I don't need to get into it here, you were there. Glad to know you're leaving NS for good reasons and not the soul crushing RL incidents like growing up and stuff.

You're gonna have to tell me how you did it, if you manage to stay away. I keep trying and it never works. This black hole just keeps dragging me back in.

Aw, BT... I just got back too. (It's Storm in case you don't recognize my nation.) I wish you the very best and everything about gameplay you have taught me is invaluable and will be most helpful to me as a commander. I have truly enjoyed your company, both defending and otherwise. Take care of yourself and feel free to hit me up on you know where. Much love. <3

Jeez...I keep seeing people I started under disappearing. I suppose it's time for the new generation to step forwards.

I'm not gonna make this long, just cause I'm not anywhere near the same level of friendship you had with others who've spoken up in this thread. But I do want to say thank you, for all the time you've spent working on things, including teaching me when I first started. It truly was a pleasure to update beside you, and I wish you the best in Real Life.

While I'm not (personally) involved in Gameplay, I've always enjoyed working with you on non-GP related matters. (WA legislation, larger symposiums, etc.) Good luck with wherever life may take you! :)

Well, my best friend in this game is leaving, for real I think, so I guess I'll say a little something.

I heard of this game awhile back from a different friend and joined. It was novel at first, answering all the issues, but that doesn't really keep your attention. It's the people in this game that make it interesting and keep you coming back for more, with the communities they build and experiences they share with you.

Thomas, you were a huge part of that for me. You always keep things interesting and are great at getting shit done when you are set on it. As you know, a couple of years ago before Fort Triumph I was feeling pretty done with this game and I needed something new and fresh to stay active and so you got me into game-play and R/D, more specifically. If it weren't for that I probably wouldn't still be playing this game.

I enjoyed all the hours we spent together trying to build regions, defending, or just shooting the shit. You've been my biggest advocate in this game and I know you always had my back and I had yours. I don't think I'll have a relationship or a friend like that in this game again.

I wish we could have gone out on a higher note together, but our lives led us in different directions and we didn't get to spend as much time together over the last year plus. I'm gonna miss you man, and I wish you all the best. I know you can keep finding success in your real life.

Keep in touch, brother. I promise I won't try to suck you back into the game.

If I'm allowed a bonus question, why do you care if Neph takes over the thread?

Because I don't like Neph, its that simple.

I don't really have thoughts on the NPO - they're irrelevant. The only relevant thing they've done my entire time on NS was denounced and branded as a rogue action by individuals who were then punished. An empire is nothing without its ambitions. I don't think anyone doubts its capacity to become a major player again - the inspirational propaganda alone could attract people who long for the days of the PRL and help to spread the Order throughout the other GCRs through subversion. How is the meritocracy to survive if its longevity is its only thing that makes it special?

Sorry to see you go. Not because I'm actually active in GP (I'm not) so much as because your absence means there's even less reason to get involved again.

I hope the extra free time treats you well.

I was just saying a week ago or so, one of my regrets was I never really defended much with you. Pissing contests, notwithstanding. Adios, BT. The good ones always leave too early. May your detags stay detagged, your recruits recruited and your switchers switched. *salutes*

My question: Activity or Reports? *snickers*

It was a TITO Knight that filed the report that led to Unibot II's deletion.

I knew it! :lol2: I even asked Grub if this was the case (he denied it.) MY PARANOIA IS JUSTIFIED AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!

Getting deleted over the 'Gameplay Alignment Quiz' was a special treat.*

* Background: at the time, when I reached out to some senior players like Grub to take the GAQ so we could build a celebrity chart, it was technically illegal to do so because any telegram about a website was unsolicited in nature. Nowadays, you can use an 'advertising' telegram filter which didn't exist then. In the 'old' days (I refuse to believe I'm old, I'm not even the first Uni!), if you asked a friend to join a forum or a region or something and they turned out to be a (clever) spy, they could get you in trouble with the mods by reporting the telegram. It made it especially dangerous to be an organizer of any sort. By the end, I was so suspicious and I was wording my telegrams so lawyer-like, people would ask what they were supposed to mean! Those were the days!

Sorry to see you go Thomas. I know you don't know me but you and some of the other defenders have been inspirational to me in many ways.

Enjoy yourself away from here. Here is such a life sucking void sometimes.

I do hope the Wardens will continue taking the fight to the enemies door, carrying on the torch of the Benevolent one.

Rehabilitation is often boring. The consensus among the Senate when I took over was to seek reconciliation with numerous parties. I saw it as a personal challenge since my temperament does not easily lend itself to the 'nice guy' scenario. But it worked and we were successful.

That doesn't mean we are irrelevant, just perhaps quieter at present than we have been in the past. Besides, subversion works best from the shadows...

Regardless, good luck in RL. I've given it a try more than once. I'm sure we will see you again at some point in the future.
