Acts of God!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

Postby Uinted Communist of Africa » Mon Oct 17, 2016 8:20 am

My country is super religious its the top 5% of the whole world. We have over 2,000 prayers per hour which is constantly growing. My government is just an extension of the church. But what I don't understand is why 33% of my people die from acts of god!!! That doesn't make any sense!! WE are healthy people and have large health care and social policies!!! If it weren't for the 33% dying from "acts of God" 82% of my people would be dying of old age! How is it that by having a religiously based government killing my people? I've been trying every thing too lower the amount of death by "acts of God" and so far I've just been lowering everything else. The only bright side of this is that it seemed to have hit its limit. It been at 33% for weeks now even though my religiousness is ever growing. Is this 33% just the price of being dedicated to our religion or is there a way to minimize our deaths without abandoning God?

p.s. Yes I'm a communist but I also believe in God.

Acts of God doesn't mean God directly striking down your people. It's a sort of a blanket term used to refer to deaths caused by natural disasters and other things like that that are no ones fault.

Who is this "God?" Clearly the only divine beings that exists is the great and mysterious Violet and her Moderator Archangels.

If your people are more religious, they're more likely to attribute things to an act of god(s).

Before posting any question on terminologies, I highly recommend reaching for the nearest dictionary (e.g. Oxford) and hit the definition of whichever term you're wondering about.

To expand on what Sedge said, when your people are more religious, they will attribute mysterious deaths and perhaps natural disasters to God. Thus, nations with little to no religiousness won't have many if any Acts of God, while the more religious will.

The way I understand how the deaths work is this: Imagine you are the Census bureaucrats. It would be terribly difficult to actually figure out how exactly every person in every nation died. Instead, they just use the statistics reported by each nation's officials. Thus, the coroners, doctors, etc. who established cause of death will attribute the death to what they believe. If they can't figure it out, they may attribute it to being smitten by Deity.

You need to redefine "literal" too; should I Google that for you also?

When people try to help you, you ought to at least show some acknowledgement instead of calling them "comedians".
