Your nations contradictions

Postby Gages Icelandic Army » Sat Oct 15, 2016 7:38 pm

My nation just became an anarchy.

There's an 8% tax

Government spends 53.1 trillion dollars a year.

Government expenditure makes up 16.6% of the economy.

"The compassionate, hard-working, democratic population of 2.061 billion Gageians live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs." That would mean I have a high crime rate and a lot of corruption. Which I don't have. And that perpetual fear is most likely talking about fear for their lives. But I'm in the top 5% for most safe and developed citizens.

What the hell?

So what contradictions are there in your nation? NationStates gives you a classification, but a lot of the time it's just straight up wrong. Do you guys have anything like that?

Wrong forum mate.

This goes in Gameplay I rather think.

Ek bly in Australie nou, maar Afrika sal altyd in my hart wees. Maak nie saak wat gebeur nie, ek is trots om te kan sê ek is 'n kind van hierdie ingewikkelde soms wrede kontinent. Mis jou altyd my Suid-Afrika, hier met n seer hart al die pad van Melbourne af!

Same thing just happened to my nation. Political freedoms are at 81 (World Benchmark); economy is at 74 (Strong); and civil rights are at 71 (Excellent). Taxes are just over 24%; law & order gets just over 23% of the budget; and government spending accounts for 29% of economic activity. And my populace is "hard-nosed, hard-working, [and] democratic." I don't get it! I know there are certain aspects of issue-resolution that will yield wildly unintended consequences, but nothing about my nation suggests "anarchy" as its overall condition except the seemingly wrong classification that NationStates has assigned to it. Thoughts, anybody?

Anarchy is what the game classifies nations with the highest levels of civil rights, political freedoms, and economic freedom. By achieving this with a noticeable government presence means your government is being run really well!

My nation is "notable for its frequent executions". However, "Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare."

So, crime is unknown, but we're executing lots of people. I wonder who we're executing. It can't be criminals because we don't have any of those. :)

I know, I know, "Crime is totally unknown" is a severe exaggeration.
