Strong move from Halo. Actions must have consequences.

A few notes...

1) I don't disagree with all the comments expressed by the now former guardians. While I don't think Xor, of whom I am very fond in an OOC way, really deserves a commendation, I also understand a lot of people admiration for her. No hard feelings Xori, you are a great girl. But a commendation... Just not yet... For that matter, I honestly think about 70% of the current commendations given are 100% BS, but hey, who is counting?

2) I do understand how this could have been handled differently, as Dark says, in the Guardians Hall to which once I use to belong to. That said, I also see and understand the right and decision of the now former guardians to take this public. They had all the right to express their opinions openly, although my guardians back when I was delegate would have also aimed to handle it privately.

3) I don't think the actions of the former guardians deserves the amount of "ohs" and "gasps" of you all either. They made a decision, and have respectfully and normally taken the consequences of their decision. I doubt this will escalate from there, and I honestly doubt there was any intention of "undermining" the delegate per se. Disagreement happens. When I was Delegate I made PunkDaddy Guardian, knowing full well that he didn't trusted me and would do everything in his power to oppose me: disagreement can bring a LOT of insight...

4) I think Halo acted and reacted within all his right as delegate. As believer in the absolute power of the Delegate, he had all the right to remove the Guardians based on the actions they did. If there was pressure from abroad, if this shows strength, I don't know: time is the only one who can judge this, and time will tell.

5) Cormac shouting "empire, empire!" is getting old and boring. Its 2018, man. I will always hold that you are one of the most entertaining players but... move on?

6) Where the hell is my strawberry ice cream?

People would probably move on from Empire if Empire players stopped seemingly behaving politically in the same way (and same regions) they always have before ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

With two exceptions, I agree with everything Elegarth said.

1) I think it was a good show of strength for a brand spankin' new Delegate. That doesn't mean I don't fully expect reconciliation to happen quickly. The dismissed Guardians, to a person, are the support team that Halo has always relied upon. I do not expect that to stop. They were just swatted with the TWP newspaper. The love is not gone.

2) Chocolate icecream, man! Chocolate!

I don't disagree to your first comment, tbh. I'm just not wanting to jump the trigger. I do think it shows the will to make hard choices if needed, and that is usually good :)

I'm still mystified why the group took such radical measures to upend a resolution that was almost certainly going to pass? It was a incompetent death march from beginning to end. I mean, why risk your place in TWP over a foregone conclusion?

I'm pretty sure the resolution was just an excuse to pull that shit. If it wasn't the resolution, it would have been something else that they went behind Halo's back on.

"What's past is prologue," right? You're saying I'm a "past-hugger" like it's an insult to think that history is a good indicator of the future. Shakespeare seemed to figure that out 4 centuries ago, but you're not quite there yet, I guess.

Empire members love to undermine governments they feel they can't control. They've done it everywhere they've gone. This is a continuation of the same behavior they've displayed for years. And for whatever reason, TWP felt it was special enough to think Neenee, Badger, and Davelands would exempt them.

Neenee's been replaced by Dali, another Empire player. Some lessons you have to learn a million times. I'm with Cormac. Sigh. RIP.

I never implied being a past-hugger is necessarily a bad thing. If you take it like that, is up to you. How much you assume and what you assume speaks a lot about you.

The West Pacific wishes to announce the end of its treaty with The Pacific.

This is our oldest active treaty and the decision was not made lightly. We continue to have a fondness for some of its citizens and a respect for its long history.

However, the information that has recently come to light demonstrates that the NPO, at least as it is currently governed, does not respect the sovereignty of its allies nor the safety of the people of NationStates.

At the very least it fosters an environment where its high government officials feel free to act against other regions and to associate with, and even protect, players who seek to do others harm. At most, The NPO has engaged in espionage against its allies, including The West Pacific, and used a dangerous player as a tool to promote their own interests.

When I took office, I stated that two of my important goals were to promote safety and to ease the toxic exchanges that we see so often. It is clear that The NPO diminishes security and promotes toxicity.

This type of behavior must be rejected by GCRs and UCRs alike. The West Pacific will always expose and eliminate any harmful players like Block and we call upon all of the regions of NS to pledge to do the same.

The West Pacific stands in solidarity with Osiris. Our treaty with The Pacific is withdrawn and their embassy will be closed. We remain, as always, prepared to defend ourselves and our allies from all threats.
