Tell me why I or anyone else should join in 5 paragraphs minimum. I'm not yet sure if this region would be worth my time. I'm just a new guy looking for a cool region.

Grand Central is a region where you can come and chill. We are welcoming to all kinds of people and just want to have fun. The community is great and you can get involved in the regional government. If anybody has any specific questions, go ahead and ask.

That was not 5 paragraphs and I will not write 5 paragraphs for this :P

Says the guy that has been here since at least 2011! I know that you why you should join, because you already joined. You also know I don't do five paragraphs of anything, I leave that for my assistants; which clearly I should think about replacing Festavo :P

Thank you for all the well wishes, and the compliments on our graphics. Our accomplishment there was really a collaboration from at least three of our members. Stay tuned, as we are drafting up our first update since we revived the region, we've been up to quite a lot; all engines are roaring at full steam ahead on the tracks to success. It's been a long time since the world has heard from us, and we have a lot to say!

It wouldn't be a GP thread unless we scrutinise every detail.

WA Delegate Feux? Feux has returned to Gameplay? He disappeared off the face of the earth the events of last year.

I'm quite surprised as well that he decided to take me up on my invitation! He used to be a member of GC many years back, as he was a friend of Nordic Arbor because NA had founded a region called New State, and Feux was its first delegate. NA was also a long time member of GC, and brought him into the fold. Ever since this he has been an acquaintance of mine, and our relationship grew a considerable amount during his last exploits in Lazarus with his friend Stu; which I supported at the time. It seems that he is quite happier now that he is now longer a feederite, and he's enjoying the party Grand Central has to offer.

I mean, you're probably not going to find a lot of people here with nice things to say about Feux, but if he's genuinely better these days now that he's out of the GCR's that's cool.

Can confirm, used to get mildly annoyed at New State and tried to refound it once.

Fenda Rom after a blindside encounter with the Pain Train

This drowsy minor, as the little stations of NationStates stood quietly, amidst the plains of our Multiverse, as the sleepy defender-wagons patrolled old railway tracks, a group of young and daring chuggers made several suspenseful raids on the outer reach stations. They appeared out of nowhere, the rusty tracks, eerily silent beneath their wheels. They flew past, like courier trains past schedule, seldom saying a word, so keen was their intent to wreak havoc, and spread the name of the Grandest Station of them all. And such was their speed, such was their skill, that the name GRAND CENTRAL, had truly been "made" this historical minor update.

Additionally, running low on supplies, the young engines raided some of the storage outposts surrounding the larger NS stations, stealing fuel, food, spare parts, and the Toilet Paper from the lavatories. For dirty is the fate of those who oppose us.

Excellent work GCR! Great writing too Chingis! I think it's awesome how you did that acronym with the regions, and you threw a mod region in there as well. :)

Bit of a brain freeze - I was trying to decipher an acronym from the bonus hits list. It's okay, I've got it now. :)

Choo Choo! One Ticket to Grand Central.

Travel Schedule:

Grand Central. Some may know the history of this aged region. Founded back in 2009 by St. Mason, this region died in 2012. But now Grand Central is back! It was originally refounded by Ugglands in 2014 but Grand Central officially restarted after Christmas 2015. In the two months it has been active, Grand Central’s has decupled up to an astonishing 140 nations. Along with the massive influx of new nations and players has come vigor and energy. However Grand Central is not a region of just new players, boasting many old and experienced players. Some of the more notable elder players, who have come together are:

  • Feux (Honored Lazarene)
  • Generals 94 Block and Nordic Arbor of DEN,
  • Augustus Anumia (King of Ainur),
  • Klaus Mikaelson, known by most, NS's own "wandering nomad"
  • Fidisi
  • Festavo (Pharaoh Emeritus)
  • Avakael (Founder of The Independent Order)
[*]Zaolat (First Pharaoh of Osiris)

Image

Our old chaps get puffing again.

With all of these people so well versed in creating, running, and growing regions, one may truly expect great things of Grand Central.

Grand Central has, in its two months of current activity, created an amazing political scene. Currently there is a highly active legislature producing laws faster than we can change the coal in their fireboxes. With the elections of the legislature has come a phenomena rare to NationStates, but beautiful none the less. Grand Central has started developing political parties, something very few regions pull off. There even seems to be a court setup for legal disputes!

The executive branch has also got off to a great start, with elected Stationmaster, 94 Block, his deputy, Nordic Arbor, and Feux, our esteemed conductor. The department of Foreign Affairs, has come together to bring you this truly wonderful little update on the affairs of the region. The Department of Internal Affairs, lead by Chingis before it merged with the Cultural Department, now under the head of ex-regent of Culture, Brihimia, has pulled of a truly miraculous boost in recruitment intake, jumping to within the 70 largest regions of NS in a matter of 2 months.

But for the people not interested in politics but want to bring something out of Nationstates, there are many different, both steam and diesel friendly alternatives, such as:

  • The Avakael Hall, where the University of Grand Central is set. Currently there are six different classes available to take, ranging from Chess, to RL politics, to NS power and ways of gaining, and holding it.
  • Our 94th Street, filled with spam and fun for the whole region.
  • The Grand Central Regiment, the military force of Grand Central, lead by Chingis. Recently, the GCR has celebrated it's establishment through a loud and boisterous raid, spelling it's name out across the NS multiverse. One interested in hearing more about this momentous raid could read about it here.

TL;DR: We're alive. We're kicking. And we've come back fighting.

Some Fun Facts About Trains:

  • There is an abandoned subway station under City Hall in New York that no train stops at but you can see it in passing if you take the number 6 train.
  • If someone commits suicide in Japan by jumping onto an oncoming train, the train company can/will sue his/her family for cleanup fees, loss of income and negative publicity brought on by the suicide.
  • In Moscow, stray dogs have learned to commute from the suburbs to the city. They reach the city, scavenge for food, then catch the train home in the evening.
  • The engineer who designed the Japanese Kamikaze dive-bombing planes of WWII felt bad about his role in the war, so at its end, he decided to use his skills for peace by designing the body of the Shinkansen (Bullet Train), which has, to this day, operated with zero accident-caused fatalities.
  • When placed on maps using food sources as cities, slime molds have almost perfectly replicated major train systems in Europe, the USA, Tokyo, and Canada.
  • In 1896 Auburn ROTC cadets greased the skids of a railway track before a football game. The train with the incoming team couldn’t stop and slid halfway to the next town, forcing them to walk 5 miles to the game possibly contributing to their 45-0 loss.

My favorite!<3
Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here
