Hi there, my current region is a bit of a mess so I'm starting to look around for somewhere else.
I'm looking for the following (a bit of a wishlist, I know, but if you meet the majority drop your link anyways!)
-RP focused (Modern or Medieval)
-Original RP Map
-Democratic regional leadership roles
-Reasonable RP post standards (Minimum effort guidelines)
-Special preference for 18+ groups

probably redundant to comment when i don't have any region advice in mind (i am not familiar with rp-based regions) but the good news for you is that literally every region in good standing is lgbt-friendly or they wouldn't be in good standing so u are free to search as you please without fear of running into homophobia

Unfortunately, as optimistic as this is, it's not really true, even in RP regions. There are some bad eggs out there. Your caution is understandable. Most of those intolerant regions will not wear it on their sleeve, but rather you'll find out later in an off-site chat forum, more than likely, after you've put in a lot of effort to join.

Fortunately, I can tell you without a doubt, our region is not that way. We are very accepting of LGBTQIA+ and have several of our members that identify as such, along with allies.
We don't have an elected regional government, but we definitely have an active, sometimes irreverent, happy crew that keep several RPs going and lots of world building. We are MT to PMT (although we have dabbled in some fantasy in at least one RP). Lots of fun banter. Check us out in the links in my signature. In Sparkalia a lot of our folks at the top are LGBTQIA+ and have an RP that is fantasy meets future tech with a monarchist regional theme in terms of government. A lot of what we do is on Discord, so if you're good with that I welcome you to come join us!

Sounds like Conch Kingdom might be up your alley. We're inclusive, have an elected regional government, we have RMBers (who are very silly), and we have a RP via discord (non-earth modern tech).

I'm looking for a region in which to conduct my roleplaying.
I had my application rejected by one region as they had too many similar cultures.

My country is based on the real region of the Inner and Outer Hebdrides and has Scandinavian as well as Celtic/Scottish and Western Influences.
I have been doing a lot of work on the RP history of my nation - although I'm yet to learn how to use the NS wiki properly to publish it all.

I'm looking for a region with an emphasis on realism and world building.

I am working on a National Broadcaster (youtube channel), a Government website and various other worldbuilding aspects of my country. I think I could be a good addition - please feel free to telegram me about your region.

I'm not in a huge rush to sign up somewhere - I need to make sure it's the right fit. I could potentially be interested in being involved in the setting up of a new region - I'm experienced with discord and I do enjoy the world building aspects that would be involved; map creation, graphic design, lore and history and roleplay mechanics. The Commonwealth Society would love to have you if you're still looking for a region. We're RP and worldbuilding focussed - recently a couple of our members have posted some really interesting new factbooks and news articles on our Discord. There are quite a few RPs planned for the near future also.

Having just gone through a major reboot, it would be great to get your input on our Discord and the design of our 'website' if you're interested/have experience in building servers, graphic design, etc. As a lot of us have been on NS for a fair while, we'd also be happy to share any formatting tips for setting up your factbook.

If you are looking for a real-world map region, try Geopolity. We do the RP on the RMB and keep to realism, with a bit of poetic licence. You are free to RP with whom you like, or not, as you prefer.

I think the Valley of Peace meets your requirements! We are pretty chill here with not much emphasis on IC politics nor R/D gameplay either, and host occasional events and fun and entertainment which we mostly have fun with here for those who want a relaxed consensual game.
