In Need Of A Little Help

Hey everyone,

I'm new to NationStates, I started playing a couple of days ago and I'm a little lost on what exactly I'm supposed to do. So far, I've joined a region and I've resolved several different issues. If someone could point me into the direction in which I should go next I would greatly appreciate it.

That's literally all there is to the game, other than the forums (which are quite varied, this is the 'chat about Abortion or whatever for the Nth time' area, there's also RP stuff and so on) and submitting issues.

You could join a roleplay, try to get involved in the politics of a region, write factbooks, do the eejit up at forum 7... You could also be a raider, but that's not very nice, or a defender, which would be fine, but for those you have to join the WA.

This forum here is for OOC talk, current events, debate, etc - more or less what the descrip says when you look at the main list of forums available.

You'll find similar descriptions for the other forums, as an overview of what's done in each.

If you're interested in RP, there's a bunch of those - read through, see what folks are up to, might want to ask about an interesting thread in one of their accompanying OOC threads (usually for discussion, sign-up, etc). Read the stickies - often a lot of explanation and help there too. Get in touch with one of the Mentors - they've got a light greenish name different from regular players - and they can send you in the right direction, and give you some good tips.

There's the regional play - Gameplay - there's a forum on that also, and people to ask, though they tend to be more active off the forums, and within the game itself. There are a bunch of stickies that can tell you about raiding, defending, all of that as well.

The WA/GA etc - join up there, get involved in the discussions about creating rules for member nations to uphold, condemn or commend other nations for achievements or atrocities - lots to do in that whole are as well. Again, check the stickies, talk to the players involved in those areas where you can, even via telegram.

Read up, chat with players, get a feel for it all, and try things out a bit, see what you do and don't like - and above all, have fun. That's kinda supposed to be the point of all this. Or at least, it should be.
