Lowering taxes

Postby Unified Western States » Sat Feb 06, 2010 11:03 am

So, my tax is at 100% and I'm not particularly pleased about that. However, I am not quite sure as to how I can lower it.

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

And thank you al in advance.

On any issue that offers to let you cut government spending, do so.
On any issue that offers to let you increase a government agency or to do something for your nation that will increase public spending, do not do so.

I'd just say ignore it. In RP, my tax is about 20%, even though my nation page says 100%. Tax is a minor note for me, I just ignore it because, quite frankly, Emperor Alkovan isn't a Communist and neither is the government. Maybe in the future, we'll be Communist, but until then I just ignore the taxes.

Some RP groups are pickier about making participants' RP nations match their in-game nations than others. If you're in one of those, having a 100% tax rate might be a serious hindrance.

When the issues ask if you want to increase government spending, don't do it

Yeah my tax is 100% too which I don't mind too much but I'd say its way too easy in this game to get 100% tax.

I was at 100% taxation as well, a few months ago. My major spending was on the military, so, when the issue about "Reducing Military Budget" came up, and went for broke and said "Reduce the Budget". The next day my military spending was at 0%, and JJ Place had 0% taxation. Funny how these things work, eh? Anyhow, from this source it would appear that your spending your nation's money fairly evenly amonst a large amount of areas. So, the next time that an issue about spending comes up, simply answer that you'd like to give your people a tax break. Within no time, your tax rate will go down to a reasonable level, like, say, 0%. It won't take you long after you start getting some issues about the budget. Also, you have one the "Two Issues per day" option, correct?
