Nation Control

Postby Gaoism » Sat Feb 06, 2010 7:59 am

Hey guys,

I'm confused I've been a member of nation states for a wee while now but don;t know how to manage my nation.

I currently manage my nation by:

1. accepting/declining/abstaining from issues
2. voting in the WA

Are there any other things I can do besides role playing to manage my nation?

Thanks!

Issues. Pay close attention to them. The results are often exaggerated.
95% of people on NationStates won’t read this, but as we speak, Libyan people are being massacred, because they’re rebelling against an unfair government. The elderly, women, children, everyone in Libya is in danger tonight. It’s genocide. Repost this in your sig to raise awareness and support the revolution!

There's a lot of 'roleplaying', of various styles, going on in these forums. The threads that are stickied at the heads of the 'NS Sports', 'NationsStates', 'International Incidents' and 'WA: General Assembly' sections should give you some idea of what those are about... and some roleplay also occurs within some of the regions, either in offsite forums that they run or just in their game-provided 'message boards', too.

(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

I was wondering that same thing myself, but so far it doesn't seem like it. :/

The core game is really very simple. It's just what you described actually. Joining a region with active roleplay is always a good choice if you want more complexity. Some regions hold their own elections and alliances exist between regions. Good luck.
