It doesn't matter who founded California.
What matters is that the region no longer had an active founder.
Were the original founder DEN then the region has been brought back into lair.

Maybe because the raider(s) who founded it have had their region and history misappropriated by a group of wannabe TBR 'raiders' who feel the need to piggyback on a decade old organisation's reputation and effort.

I mean, there's been a lot of DEN reboots, but at least they had respect for their forebears, and historical raiders in general.

You can change your skins, but you'll always be TBR, and it shows.

You heard the Highlander, and he's as raiding blueblood as they come. But I'll also reenact "On the Waterfront"

Gest: You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, TBR.

Surely members of the old DEN in Ile de France know better than to support the occupation then.

I was never TBR and I'll never be TBR.

As one of the "Old" guys, and former Franks' troopers, it's time to wade in on this.

As far as old DEN vets and IDF nations not supporting the Cali op, I must've missed the memo. When a legitimate raider group needs support on an occupation, I don't normally ask for CVs — I just support the mission. Always have. That's what "raider unity" today actually means kids.

And as far as that subject goes, please don't pay any attention to the wannabe pro-defender historians on here claiming to know what's going on in the raiding community, let alone DEN. Trust your source. These voices are anti-raider, so whatever they're offering isn't fact but rumor designed to sow disharmony among raiders. There may indeed be voices on the forums carping about DEN/TBR not respecting "raider unity," but again, trust the source: I'm not seeing disharmony where it counts — on the gamemap. If they were that hated/loathed/distrusted they wouldn't have the ability to pulls 50+ WAs into its operations, nor get assistance from across the raider community when asked. They do. Regularly.

Defenders would love to see DEN be the source of a new schism among raiders...it would make their job easier. So, spread divisive rumors about them. Go after them again and again in the WASC. Blame them for all the sins and ills (real and imagined) in NS. Divide and conquer is a respected tactic (read your Sun Tzu), and again, this isn't the first time rumors have been spread to try and cause unrest among us.

As far as California being a former raider territory....don't know, don't care. It's founderless. Raiders for over a decade have raided formerly raider-founded regions. It's an old tradition, and one DEN/TBR didn't invent. Once a region is founderless, and the raider nation natives have moved on, the lineage no longer is valid concern. The region becomes a legitimate target — for either side. It's a matter of historical NS fact.

Indeed, raids were tried against all of the former DEN regions after the last iteration of the group ceased combat operations. Gen. Alphaks and I took over a year to gain control and shut them all down, in an effort to draw an endline under that particular DEN era. We also started to work to stop the fratricide going-on within the DEN exiles fighting over the scraps between all the various DEN-branded regions. Raiders were on the backfoot and needed to consolidate.

This is when the phrase, "Raider Unity" came into existence, because we needed to bond together. It had zip to do with respecting one group's historical traditions, methodology or philosophy, it had to do with supporting in-general the cause and community of raiding. Raiders support active raiders. As one who was a voice for unity at the time, I can assure you that raids against old founderless regions, that may or may not have once been raider-held, was never a governing part of the idea.

Raiding California is a non-issue to the idea or health of "raider unity." If such furor actually existed in force and quantity to bring pressure to bear, then DEN should already have become a pariah. It hasn't happened, so I guess the greater raiding community missed that memo, too.

Bottom line: None of this is really about California, it's history, DEN traditions, raider unity, or any other canard — this is all just a convenient opportunity to take yet another swing at DEN and kick the TBR corpse.

St Abbaddon Invaded!

Invaders Storm into a Former Safe Haven for Defenders

St Abbaddon Invaded!

Over the course of two updates, St Abbaddon was brought down to its knees by waves of competent raiders.
Despite defender support from TITO, WHR, and UDL, the passworded region fell to the collective power of invaders from DEN, The Kingdom of Great Britain, and Cimmeria.
Ravania was even caught thanking himself for the "successful" defense a minute before the invasion.
A two-month-long sleeper operation by a dirty puppet continues into its next phase.

Private First Class Demzelka is promoted to the rank of Corporal for his talent and hard work. Congratulations!

From the army that brought you Pacifica, St Abbaddon is next.

Nah I do defending where needed but settled in anarchy as its better to be there than take part fully in defender v raider and besides my loathing of raiders comes from when the original SFBA got taken over by foxrite and others. Thats why Im careful in expressing my anger on here now.

I missed this. No, you are still DOS, and the fact we've been deleting your nations for 10 years now should let you know that it's a permanent ban. You're not welcome here, and never will be. If anyone comes across Andyl puppets, please report them to us, and we'll delete them.
