Congrats to the black hawks. Holding a region that will ultimately lead to nothing, and then boasting about defeated the EUF because it was not a liberation run by AIR. In fact, the first run was conducted purely by the EUF with no communication made to AIR, followed by a second run where we decided to help them, but then they didn't show up. All I see it as is good practice for the AIR soldiers who showed up to help the apparently non-existent EUF forces.

The boasting was less of the problem, more of incorrectly calling it a failed AIR op. It wasn't AIR.

It's a game. If your enjoyment of the game is by winning, rather than having a competitive and challenging fight, your conception of an ideal R/D game (one in which raiders win) doesn't matter too much. You might as well set your FIFA to the lowest difficulty, and have at it - same effect.

A defender has literally been an RO for almost this entire raid, Guy. I think it's the defenders who have it on the lowest difficulty now, and they're still not winning.

A Warden on the initial Lib and subsequent month-long hold of the region:

It was the day of January 25, 2018. The Security Council was voting on a proposal, "Liberate Iran". The discrepancy in the voting made it clear that it would soon become SC#241, as it was on track to pass with over 90% support. Defenders, aware that its passage would leave Iran, a region devoid of actual natives, defenseless against raider forces, began to stir and planned for Iran's defense.

They would not neglect their duties. On the final day of voting, January 25th, former officer in both the 10000 Islands Treaty Organization (TITO) and former Grey Warden Commander Lenlyvit created a discord server dedicated to the defender response to the liberation, entitled "Operation Irani Freedom". Lenlyvit then began to invite defenders into the server. At the beginning, he invited SWORD operatives, notably founder South Asians and Chancellor Crystalsummer. Prior to the midnight major update and the official passage of the resolution, other defenders, such as Roavin, then of the Grey Wardens, began to join the server.

Did defenders just deploy valuable piling units to a region with only one known native, only to see the region sink into the depths of inactivity?

Seems better plans were needed. These have been quite neglected, after all. All the world's fendas and all the world's plans couldn't put Iran back together again? And the answer to that final question, I guess, sounds like "yes."

On what will be done for Iran:

Realistically, I imagine we're looking at a prolonged piler deployment to remove invader nations coupled with an active search for natives of the region that are still present on the game. Then, depending on the wishes of the legitimate native community, you're either looking at them existing in a Liberated state or a repeal of this liberation so as to enable legitimate natives to password and refound via the help of defenders.

Where's that help of defenders these days?

Seems like ultimately, the SC has failed Iran again. Little has been done to promote those things, or to ensure the security of the region. Or, no parties have been interested.

Pro tip: influence takes quite a few days to degrade seriously. If you're gonna spend half yours ejecting people, it's smart to ensure they stay out more than 24 hours!

The fendas have taken the field, at last! Altmoras steps up to the plate, ready to whack some balls. And hits he hits! One, two, three, four, five, six runs! How's that even possible?! Who knows! After that, the refs decided the top of the inning was over, and the defenders took the field...or tried to. With Iranamerica catching and Altmoras on the mound, there were but two fielders! Borovan guarded first, with Hired Contractor on third. And boy, did they try...but the Hawks came to the plate ready to exploit the giant gaps created with only 4 defensive players, and took back the lead with a series of easy-to-field but hard-to-run-to ground balls. And that's the bottom! Stay tuned for the second inning!
