RAIDERCON

The third annual RaiderCon took place at the beginning of July and was well-received. Tons of activity took place in the Discord channel, the speakers gave great insight on various topics, and several teams were involved in a Capture the Flag event where players had to solve riddles to claim delegacy of a region.

For the first time, RaiderCon was advertised on the NS News Page. The Highlander 1 applauded this development and stated, "As such I applaud Jakker and all the others who continue to stand tall in this endeavour by keeping the memory of the past alive while stimulating ongoing dialog amongst players."

Some other highlights of the event related to The Black Hawks included RaiderVision submissions by TBH (linked at the top) and Retired General COE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDNsUFu5kT0), as well as voice chats with several Generals including Red Back, Crushing Our Enemies, and Ever-Wandering Souls. WE'RE GOING STREAKING

Over the past couple of months, The Black Hawks have been working to end long delegacy streaks across NationStates. This project accumulated to ending over 246 years of delegacy. The report caused quite the reaction from various defenders. This is just another example of TBH's ability to bring innovation to raiding. The project ended with a successful occupation of Alliance of Catholic Nations, which included the stoppage of a liberation attempt.

TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER

An amazing aspect of TBH is the level of leadership that is displayed by so many Hawks. Already TBH has had a strong diversity of Hawks leading raids and this only continues to grow. Shoutout to Fabulous Rainicorns, Qonon, Serboro, Hired Contractor IV, and Moneyness for all leading raids recently. In addition, several Hawks included HC, Cheku, Elldie, Fabulous Rainicorns, Portice, Vapid, and Serboro have been involved in recruitment efforts for the region.

Another special shoutout to Serboro aka Valkyrie for getting NS married to Revolvent aka Mivix. The wedding was officiated by Reventus Koth during a tag raid run. This was also when the update broke, so while raids were unable to happen, it was the appropriate ambiance for their wedding.

RETIREMENT

General Jakker recently announced that he will be retiring from The Black Hawks in mid-August. The details of the announcement can be view on TBH's forum here: http://s4.zetaboards.com/The_Black_Hawks/topic/30126765/1/#new. He stated that he "will no longer be part of the Council or serve as the FA Director. I will remain around in the capacity as a Council Advisor (and be the most active advisor this region has ever seen). So I will still be able to provide guidance and input to the Council and others, but I will not be part of TBH’s active leadership."

This retirement had been in the works since the beginning of the year. As Jakker further noted, "Not many players are lucky enough to retire on their own terms. Also, the fact that I am retiring just means that TBH is in such good hands with you all." It is a bittersweet moment for the soon-to-be retired General. He concluded his statement:

"TBH is larger than any one of us. As leaders have changed, we carry the legacy of those before us and are given the responsibility to take TBH forward. Today, I am pass the torch to you all and I know you will continue to make me so proud. Regardless of what rank you are, you are so important to this region and incredibly valued.

I have loved learning about TBH’s history. I have loved getting to know every past and present Hawk. And I will love watching you all continue to make this region too special for words. The last 3 years since I returned to NS has made me appreciate TBH more than I thought I ever could. This has been one of the best experiences in my life and I could never thank you all enough."

Lt. Antiochus Denral (Vapid) created a Cards Against Humanity (CAH) Card Set with various TBH specific cards. There has recently been several game nights where players in TBH and outside of the region have played CAH as well Skribbl.io. Any other allies or friends of TBH who are interested in joining the fun are welcome to mask themselves to see the gaming channel of our discord server.

Despite being a raider myself, and despite applauding Red Star's 50+ endo counts which kept the defenders at bay for a week or so, I fail to see how the ACN occupation was a success. Things went KAPUT! as soon as Red Star resigned after six days, then the defenders came in and every single one of the raiders got thrown to Kandy's BBQ. 6/10 - could have been much better, yet could have finished little worse.

I mean, I don't see how it could have gone better. The plan way never a permanent occupation, Money resigned on his puppet Red Star because we ended the occupation, resigning WA is the equivalent of withdrawing troops after a battle.

Nice puppet by the way mister "raider". You clearly aren't a raider as you don't know how occupations work, so next time you want to try and score points against us just admit to being a random native who has no clue how gameplay works.
