Yeah, I lost one government position. And there are places where, if I so desired, I could have one. It's no big loss to me. However Lazarus also lost something. They lost one of their most dedicated people and the fact that they were so eager to throw such a person away only says how much they appreciate those that help them.

Lazarus is getting a somewhat fresh start, and they wish, quite reasonably, not to taint themselves with such a character as you.
If you're attacking regions that they may later wish to have relations with, the smart move is to get rid of you.
