About Maredoratica

Maredoratica is built around the principle that good regions should be believable. In-character decisions ought to be justified by the world the players create, not come about arbitrarily (the classic "wouldn't it be cool if we...").

We want to build a world that evolves by its own rules. If a major importer goes into recession, could there be a price swing in commodities? In a country whose poor, maligned farmers rely on export of a single commodity, could that price swing be a catalyst for violence, or social change? In Mare, we ask those questions, and turn the answers into roleplay.

What kind of tech?

We identify ourselves as purely MT. That means we tend to focus on currently existing technologies and also try and establish who makes what in terms of MT real-life military tech, for example.

Hai leis :-3 International Floristry Association - the REAL IFA, ex-glorious ODECON member, etc, etc. Am rebuilding an Anglo-Dutch nation with epic amounts of orange and liberalism. Epicly busy next two days, but can join IRC sometime after for much reminiscing.

I've had a few nations for a long while, really, including one with which I participated in GE&T intensely, that being Orlkjestad. I've only gotten serious with worldbuilding with Cata Larga, though. Anyways, I'm planning on the Teverene Republic being a sort of liberal Muslim democracy, somewhat like a modern Al-Andalus, with Spanish influences and all.
