The options that actually exist are democracy or Delegate-based. There could, in theory, be a third option, but there isn't right now, not in GCRs anyway, and never has been -- which strongly implies there is never going to be a third option. So when you're saying Delegate-based government is unstable and prone to rocky transitions, in context it seems like you're arguing that democracy is preferable to Delegate-based.

And in this specific context, a dispute between Balder and Osiris, it seems like you're arguing that Balder is preferable to Osiris.

That may not have been your intention, but that's how it came across to me and, I think, a fair few other people.

I don't want to dive deeply off topic in Balder's thread again, but delegate-centric structures don't have to be all power and direction to said delegate, nor do structures not centered around any single figure have to be democratic.

The Realm of Balder is delighted to announce the conclusion of the October 2018 Storting elections and the formation of the Government for the coming term.

Following a competitive race, incumbent legislators OnderKelkia, Linkin Talleyrand and Akillian Talleyrand were re-elected to new terms with a strong show of public support. They are joined in the Storting by Aexnidaral Seymour and Zander Cerebella, who return to the legislature after a break in service covering the previous term.

The newly convened Storting unanimously nominated OnderKelkia for the office of Statsminister. Her Nordic Majesty the Queen was accordingly pleased to re-appoint OnderKelkia as Statsminister. The Storting also unanimously elected Linkin Talleyrand as Lawspeaker.

Statsminister OnderKelkia quickly announced the new membership of the Statsraadet, re-establishing the position of Minister of Gameside Affairs, which had been abolished several terms ago. This additional game-side post will complement the roles of the Minister of Integration and the Minister of Culture in supporting regional domestic affairs on the off-site forums and Discord server. In full, the ministers appointed by the Statsminister are as follows:

Minister of Foreign Affairs – Zander Cerebella
Minister of Integration – Fuzzy
Minister of War – Linkin Talleyrand
Minister of Culture – Cinder

Also, I somehow missed Altino and Soul's discussion earlier. Really interesting topic... you both brought up some things that have been floating around in my head for a while but I hadn't thought through yet. It's easy to forget to include newer players when doing tasks because they don't know what to do yet and it takes your time to teach them, but thank you for the reminder to put in that effort to help your region remain self-sufficient, interesting and full of competent people. <3

Just came back and saw this. My stance is quite simply that if I said any of the productive things I had to say about Balder, I would then be putting more effort into that region than their government.
