"griefing", "defending", "role-playing"; how do they work?

Talk about regional management and politics, raider/defender gameplay, and other game-related matters.

Distinguished Leaders of the World,

Please, where to find detailed information regarding "griefing" and "defending" regions, and "role-playing"; information such as how these work.

Most appreciatively,

What you're doing right now is role-playing. It's done largely in the NationStates and the International Incidents forum. They have entire stickies that tell you. If character-based and diplomatics are your thing, generally NationStates will have that. If you want war or higher-paced political action (somewhat of an oxymoron, depending what regime you're in), then International Incidents is your thing.

Griefing is where you 'invade' a region with a WA delegate ability open, make one of your friends the delegate and then eject as many as possible. Originally it was everyone, but I guess it's as many as possible now, considering the point system.

Defending is the opposite of griefing.
