http://tachyondecay.net/php/bin/serverstatus.php - this tells you which servers are up and which ones are not. The attacker has not yet managed to bring down more than half of the ZB servers at once; it affects us a lot because a huge number of forums made in the last 18 months for NS are w11 forums (s11), and the forum that was originally being targeted by this DoSer is also w11.
Anyone have any idea what "board on w11" is being targeted to set this all off?
Nope, and there's no way they'd name it either, otherwise we'd all be in mutiny demanding to throw the cursed sailor off the ship.

Exactly. In fact, I'd argue against throwing them overboard. I'm ok with a bit of downtime if it means this attacker doesn't get to win.

That's really what it comes down to. Nothing would please the attacker more than people leaving.

Texas uses InvisionFree IIRC. while operated by the same people, the same they are not.

A couple of the InvisionFree servers were hit, but no more than about 3 at once out of 14.

This is mostly true, but misleading.

If admins pay for premium Zetaboards, they get a switch to turn on PM logging. If they turn it on, then PMs sent while the switch is on will be readable (without being reported). However, this also adds a warning to the PM interface about this 'feature' being active.

(That said, a malicious admin could use javascript on any forum which allows admins to add javascript to do any number of nasty, nasty things. Most of them would obviously violate ToS ;)).

If they were they were wrong. Taijitu's site went down in April 2010 and lost 2 years of data, which was my fault entirely. It's been up for 4 and a half years since.

Also with it turned on, any member of the forum can manually turn off logged PMs for their account I believe.

The only relevant update is that all the downtime is gone and everything is back to business as usual for ZB users. This has been the case for some time.

Oh, I got that when it first started. Moving forums in a GCR is such a political hassle itself, it's impossible to convince the worriers to actually use a non-free option, because they're afraid of somebody *owning* the forums.
