Anyone else here sick of TBR?

Postby Providence and Port Hope » Sun Sep 21, 2014 12:02 pm

Last time I tried talking about this in an individual thread it got combined with the main TBR thread, which in itself is bothersome since that thread seems to be more pro-TBR than anything. Please don't move it there mods, it's essentially a voice crusher.

Here's my problem:

My region has been invaded three times over the course of this year. It's getting to where giving the WA Delegate powers is flat out dangerous. I've been with this region since the very beginning. I've made and lost friends, had a good time, and even had my round as delegate. My fellow members are my friends, and we came to this place to be to share our love of God. Yet, it seems TBR has no respect for anyone. Even though our region has an active founder, they raid us anyway.

100 embassies canceled, and they call it fun. Oh so much has happened in my region, and I would hate to lose it. Multiplayer games like this can easily become a part of our lives, yet TBR still finds fun in ruining all of our efforts to grow and thrive! 40 members was our peak, and we have trickled to 31. No big deal, but when these guys are around, it doesn't help.

I'm not leaving my region.

You have an active founder and delegate.
They can revert the WFE back, or password the region, or take away executive powers from the WAD.
Also, your embassies are still in the process of being closed, you can cancel those closures.

Frankly, I'm sick of the same thread popping up every other day by a different person. I don't like tag raids, but TBR is doing a perfectly legal, by game rules, activity. Deal with it and work around it.

I'll add you to a list of Sicarian tags so you don't have to only complain about TBR...

Raiding is legalized griefing. Of course it's not fun for anyone involved but the raiders - that's the whole point.

You mean that it is legal for them to rum amok in the hope that all legitimate players leave NationStates out of frustration?

Dear sir, are you implying that raiders are not legit players?
I take offense to that.

Oh, and yes. Legalized due to player interest.

I suggest holding a discussion with the founder to turn off executive powers on the Delegate. TBR or whoever decides to invade the region will have no power if they do take delegate position. This ensures the region remains safe, WFE cannot be changed and embassies cannot be closed.

If you're a native/RPer, yes.
If you're a GPer, you probably live your life working with/against TBR.

With all due respect your Majesty, this does not apply. People need to be out fighting TBR, not hiding unnoticed.

Perfectly legal. Not only that but encouraged, even; game features have been released specifically to cater to griefing.

It seems somewhat ingenuous to me that people will complain about other players doing precisely what this game is designed for. You don't mean to tell me that the delegate/influence system exists precisely so everyone can ignore it?

But maybe that's just because I live in a Warzone and we're all more or less committed to gameplay.

Possibly, but as an RPer residing (with my main) in an RP region, I agree with your sentiments.
