Non-AMW Roman Catholic Church

Postby Rafello » Sat Jan 02, 2010 8:10 am

I've seen that the AMW RPers have a well-established (oviously :P) Catholic Church, but what about those of us who don't wish to become AMW RPers, or at least don't wish to commit ourselves yet?

Are there any Catholic nations out there who would be interested in discussing the non-AMW RCC? If there are, Rafello would be more than pleased to host a conclave of sorts to do just that.

Not in Gameplay, I'm'fraid.

Well there is a 'Roman Catholic' church with members in certain parts of Bears Armed, and as the national religion in the adjacent principality of Roumberre, but this has its own line of Popes -- based at the city of 'Nova Assisi', which forms an enclave within BA's territories -- instead of following any who are based elsewhere.
You see, back in Europe in Medieval times, neither the Popes in Rome nor the Popes in Avignon would recognise the baptism of sapient Ursines -- let alone their ordination into the priesthood -- as valid, so the Ursines concerned refused in return to recognise those Popes and (having at that time three bishops of their own, all of whom had been properly consecrated by human RC bishops with Franciscan connections) started electing their own ones instead. As far as I'm aware their church no longer exists in Europe, all of its then-members having emigrated here several centuries ago.
This separate church's doctrines & practices have changed in some respects since it was established, but not necessarily in the same way that those of the Rome-based church have done.
It is open to Humans, and to other sapient non-Ursines...

I am sure that if there were to be a conclave, members of the Ursine Church would be more than welcome to attend. Perhaps to discuss the deepening of relations between the Churches?

Quite possibly so, yes.

Actually I'd like to establish a Church of New Earth, and was wondering if anybody be interested in being in the clergy.

Well I am a Roman Catholic in real life, but I would want the Church of NE to be open to all denominations. Where can I check your beliefs and ideas out? And would you be willing to register on our forum, or have somebody register, not necessarily move too, so we could do so?

I would love the idea of a church of coexistence so to speak, a church of eclecticism where the positives of all religions are observed. By all denominations is this what you mean or would that be specifically Christians (I myself am a liberal Roman Catholic)?

I am the recruiter of The Universal Christian Church. You guys should really come see what we have to offer. We are actually the second and ONLY Christian Church in Forum 7. We came around right after the Reppyist Church was established.

So follow that link and you may wish to join.

As you said, where the only requirement would be the belief in God.

Well sir, we could use you on our forum. I am trying to create a Church of New Earth, it would be a non-denominational organization which would welcome all members, role-playing, it could have bishops and priests. And I, the Supreme Head
