Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum. They have the Image icon. Otherwise, your question is too generic for a meaningful answer.

So the region I'm in currently started its own Gameplay thread here, but I've already started a thread a few weeks ago for the regional newspaper of the region. I'm just concerned if we're breaking any rules. Please tell me and if so, maybe even an answer? Thanks XP

Hello!
I've had a GA proposal on the go for a while now, but I've run into a bit of a pickle. My region is rather small, and due to the way the power structure has been set up (partially my fault, oops) it is likely that by the time I'm ready to submit, I won't have the endorsements required. I see myself as having three options here.
  1. Create a puppet for WA purposes. I've seen a lot of successful GAer's with administrative WA puppets (and would love to hear your thoughts if any of you stumble across this), but I'm hesitant to let my WA membership, and authorship badges, go to a nation other than my main one.
  2. Temporarily abandon my region for one that endotarts. The issue I see with this one is that I'm an RO back home. I'd explain it to everyone before I departed, but I don't know the mechanical consequences of this.
  3. Create an in absentia puppet. This is something I haven't seen before, and I'd like to hear some thoughts on it; the basic premise is a puppet that I make arrangements with my region-mates to "hold my post" in my home region while my main nation functions as if it were a WA puppet for the duration of the campaign, moving to gain necessary endorsements and such. This would probably be a bit of a pain in the rear for my region's admin, but would preserve the author credit and whatnot on my main without abandoning my region entirely.

So, advice? Thoughts? Is my last idea of any merit?

It sounds like you basically just need more endorsements to submit a proposal? You only need 2 endorsements at the time you submit the proposal, so if you move to a feeder long enough to get 2 endorsements, submit the proposal, then move back to your region, you can do it before update and you don't loose anything from your region except your residency stat. You don't loose an RO position unless someone removes it, even if you CTE you can restore your nation and still have the position.

Not really. There are over 1000 issues which might come up, many of which will affect the economy in some way. They will also have other effects, and the choice is often a trade-off. If economy is your top priority you should stop and think before you choose an option "will it be good for business". While you are growing your economy, choose another option or dismiss the issue if the answer to that is "no".

Some issues have options which involve subsidizing a sector or a particular business. Those can be helpful in the short term, but my preference is to avoid them. Either your taxes will grow and grow to finance the subsidy, or you will be forced to cut back, and trigger a negative effect on your economy then.

I would recommend going in to your settings and picking "show more stats". That way you get a better idea of the effects of your issue choices.

Also, while you are learning the game, stop after each issue to go and have a look at those stats. If you do them all together it is then hard to see which issue(s) were responsible for the overall effect.

Hello everyone, I've been playing since 2013 but am relatively new to the forums and other more involved parts of NS gameplay.

I would like to know if there is a forum that can help people with posting their questions and issues appropriately, in the right forums and threads. I have been asking my questions about issues for example in the 'Unexpected issue effects' thread. I don't want to spam and I want to make sure I direct my posts at the right people.

Thanks!

In regards to questions about issues, the got issues forum is a good place for that, though depending on the question it may be more suited to use "The Writers Block" thread rather than unexpected effects. If you have something and no idea where it goes, moderation will be helpful if you ask there. Note that this doesn't mean go there constantly asking nuances about which specific thread to post in, just a general "I want to do something about this topic/idea and am not sure which subforum that would fall under"

Okay, thanks a lot. Yes that's the whole point, that I don't start spamming forums all the time with useless questions. But if I know where to go most of the time I won't need to.

Is it possible for me to erase all my NS data and for people to forget I ever came to NS in the first place?

Policies?

Postby Novum Imperium Atlanticum » Sun Jun 03, 2018 1:40 pm

With regard to certain policies, that is, the ones through which one can obtain those small banners for. (Not to be confused with the large ones.) Is it possible to reverse certain policies or do the issues which caused them in the first place never present themselves again? Just out of curiosity, as there are a few things things which I don't particularly like and if there's ever a chance to turn them around I'd be more than happy to. If not, so be it. Nothing to be done.

Policies can be reversed by issue answering. If that's what you ask. You can get the same issue again if they don't have some special requirement. Like when you unlock capital, religion and so on.

Answer issues. Your nation changes based on your choices. If there's something specific you want to change you will wait until you get an issue that deals with that subject.

Also https://www.nationstates.net/page=settings is where u can insert email and u no need endorsement to vote. Anyone can vote. U can endo anyone in region but be careful at being ejected by 12 year old morons dey don't like u for some reason if u endorse someone other than delegate or think u r a foreigner so pay attention to norms of the region. If u end up as delegate u can ask approve proposals and u need 2 endos to make an proposal.

viewforum.php?f=9 Is the general assembly it's where the ppl come up with proposal and if it's good enuff it will come up to vote.
