DRNR New Constitution Outside ideas Thread

Postby Natanian DRNR » Thu Jun 19, 2014 4:31 pm

the DRNR is writing a new constitution, and we would like some outside ideas, so that the same ideas are not just bouncing around.

Also, we are a federal democratic region, so no ideas that are anti-democratic. and please, no joking around.

You should set it up as an Imperial System, similar to the brilliant hierarchy structure of The Eternal Knights. *nods solemnly*

No, we are a democratic region, not an empire or monarchy.

Why do you ask here instead of consulting your region?

First of all, you should probably set up different categories for different parts of your constitution. For example, you could begin with the goals of your region, leadership, powers, and elections to name a few.

The goals portion would explain your mission not only as a region, but as an embassy if you have any. Do you want to spread democracy, help others to become democratic? Also what your role is in the greater NationStates community. Is your region open to making alliances and embassies? You could say if you role-play, or your gameplay alignment as well. Defenders, Raiders, Imperialists, Independent, Neutral?

The leadership portion will tie into the elections portion. This part could explain the roles of the WA Delegate, Founder and any other ministers or officers of that sort. Explain the qualifications needed. Explain the election process needed to have a position. Who can vote, certain people or everybody? Perhaps establishing political parties can be an expansion and you could explain how to do that.

Powers would be the limitations that the executives and officers have, if any. It would outline what they can and can't do. The founder should be part of it as well. Are executive powers granted to the Delegate? Can a nation be ejected on site or does it have to go through a trial.

Regional assemblies could be a part as well. Is there a legislative branch of your region? A place where nations can draft laws and they be implemented within the region? Maybe members of this assembly need to have certain requirements as well.

All these are just ideas, not questions you have to answer for me. :p

Good Luck!

Well, that depends. How big is your government?

Not incredibly big, but we plan for the legislature to grow as the number of members increase.
